< Yochanan 18 >
1 When Yeshua had spoken these words, he went out with his talmidim over the wadi of the Kidron, where there was a garden, into which he and his talmidim entered.
Jesu lawkthuih pacoengah, a hnukbang kaminawk hoi nawnto Kidron tava yaeh ah caeh o, a hnukbang kaminawk hoi vapui yaeh ah kaom takha thungah akun o.
2 Now Judah, who betrayed him, also knew the place, for Yeshua often met there with his talmidim.
Jesu loe to ahmuen ah a hnukbang kaminawk hoi caeh o toepsoep pongah, Anih angphat taak Juda mah doeh to ahmuen to panoek toeng.
3 Judah then, having taken a detachment of soldiers and officers from the chief cohanim and the Pharisees, came there with lanterns, torches, and weapons.
Juda mah kalen koek qaima, Farasinawk mah patoeh ih misatuh kaminawk to takha thungah angzoh haih, nihcae loe hmaithaw, hmaiim, maiphawnawk hoiah ang zoh o.
4 Yeshua therefore, knowing all the things that were happening to him, went forth, and said to them, "Who are you looking for?"
Jesu loe a nuiah pha han koi hmuennawk to panoek boih pongah, hmaa bangah caeh moe, nihcae khaeah, mi maw na pakrong o, tiah a naa.
5 They answered him, "Yeshua the Natzrati." Yeshua said to them, "I AM." Judah also, who betrayed him, was standing with them.
Nihcae mah anih khaeah, Nazareth Jesu, tiah a naa o. Jesu mah nihcae khaeah, Anih loe Kai hae boeh ni, tiah a naa. Anih angphat taak Juda doeh nihcae hoi nawnto angdoet toeng.
6 When therefore he said to them, "I AM," they went backward, and fell to the ground.
Anih mah nihcae khaeah, Anih loe Kai hae boeh ni, tiah thuih pacoengah, nihcae loe hnukbang angnawn o moe, long ah amtimh o.
7 Again therefore he asked them, "Who are you looking for?" They said, "Yeshua the Natzrati."
To pacoengah Anih mah nihcae khaeah, Mimaw na pakrong o? tiah dueng let. Nihcae mah, Nazareth Jesu, tiah a naa o.
8 Yeshua answered, "I told you that I AM. If therefore you seek me, let these go their way,"
Jesu mah, Anih loe Kai hae boeh ni, tiah kang thuih o boeh na ai maw: kai nang pakrong o nahaeloe, hae kaminawk hae caeh o sak ah, tiah a naa.
9 that the word might be fulfilled which he spoke, "Of those whom you have given me, I have lost none."
Nang paek ih kaminawk maeto doeh kang hmasak ai, tiah a thuih ih lok akoep han ih ni hae tiah a thuih.
10 Shim'on Peter therefore, having a sword, drew it, and struck the cohen hagadol's servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant's name was Malchus.
To naah Simon Piter mah, angmah ih sumsen to aphongh moe, kalen koek qaima tamna ih bangtang naa to takroek pae pat. Tamna ih ahmin loe Malkuh.
11 Yeshua therefore said to Peter, "Put the sword into its sheath. The cup which the Father has given me, shall I not surely drink it?"
Jesu mah Piter khaeah, Na sumsen to tabu thungah pacaeng ah: Kam Pa mah ang paek ih boengloeng hae Ka nae mak ai maw? tiah a naa.
12 So the detachment, the commanding officer, and the officers of the Jewish leaders, seized Yeshua and bound him,
To naah misatuh kaminawk hoi Judahnawk zaehoikung angraengnawk mah Jesu to naeh o moe, taoengh o,
13 and led him to Annas first, for he was father-in-law to Caiaphas, who was cohen hagadol that year.
Anih to Anna khaeah caeh o haih hmaloe, anih loe Kaiapha ih amsae ah oh moe, to na saning ah kalen koek qaima ah oh.
14 Now it was Caiaphas who advised the Jewish leaders that it was expedient that one man should die for the people.
Kaiapha loe kaminawk hanah kami maeto duek to hoih kue, tiah Judahnawk khaeah thui kami ah oh.
15 Shim'on Peter followed Yeshua, as did another talmid. Now that talmid was known to the cohen hagadol, and entered in with Yeshua into the court of the cohen hagadol;
Simon Piter hoi a hnukbang kalah kami maeto loe Jesu hnukah bang hoi: to a hnukbang kami loe kalen koek qaima hoiah angmat hoi pongah, anih loe Jesu hoi nawnto kalen koek qaima imthung ah akunh.
16 but Peter was standing at the door outside. So the other talmid, who was known to the cohen hagadol, went out and spoke to her who kept the door, and brought in Peter.
Toe Piter loe tasa bang ih thok taengah angdoet sut. Kalen koek qaima hoi angmat a hnukbang kalah kami maeto loe tasa bangah tacawt, khongkha toep nongpata hoiah lok apaeh hoi pacoengah, Piter to imthung ah akunsak.
17 Then the maid who kept the door said to Peter, "Are you also one of this man's talmidim?" He said, "I am not."
Khongkha toep nongpata mah Piter khaeah, Nang doeh hae kami hnukbang kaminawk thung ih maeto ah na oh toeng na ai maw? tiah a naa. To naah Piter mah, Kai na ai ni, tiah a naa.
18 Now the servants and the officers were standing there, having made a fire of coals, for it was cold. They were warming themselves. Peter was with them, standing and warming himself.
Angqai pongah, tamnanawk hoi toksah angraengnawk loe hmaitik o moe, hmai angawt o: Piter doeh nihcae khaeah angdoet moe, hmai angawt toeng.
19 The cohen hagadol therefore asked Yeshua about his talmidim, and about his teaching.
Kalen koek qaima mah Jesu khaeah a hnubang kaminawk hoi anih mah patuk ih hmuennawk kawng to dueng.
20 Yeshua answered him, "I spoke openly to the world. I always taught in synagogues, and in the temple, where all the Jewish people come together. I said nothing in secret.
Jesu mah anih khaeah, Kai loe long khaeah kamtuengah lok ka thuih; Judahnawk amkhueng o haih sineko hoi tempul ah patukhaih ka sak toepsoep; tih lok doeh tamquta ah ka thui vai ai.
21 Why do you ask me? Ask those who have heard what I spoke to them; surely they know what I said."
Tih han ih kai lok nang dueng loe? Ka thuih ih lok thaih kaminawk khaeah dueng oh, khenah, nihcae khaeah tih lok maw ka thuih, ka thuih ih lok loe nihcae mah panoek o.
22 When he had said this, one of the officers standing by slapped Yeshua with his hand, saying, "Do you answer the cohen hagadol like that?"
To tiah lok a thuih pacoengah, to ahmuen ah angdoe toksah angraeng maeto mah Jesu to tabaeng, kalen koek qaima ih lok to hae tiah maw na pathim? tiah a naa.
23 Yeshua answered him, "If I have spoken evil, testify of the evil; but if well, why do you beat me?"
Jesu mah anih khaeah, Kasae ka thuih nahaeloe, ka sethaih to na thui ah: loktang lok ni ka thuih, tikhoe kai nang tabaeng loe? tiah a naa.
24 Annas sent him bound to Caiaphas, the cohen hagadol.
To pacoengah Anna mah anih to taoengh moe, kalen koek qaima, Kaiapha khaeah patoeh.
25 Now Shim'on Peter was standing and warming himself. They said therefore to him, "You are not also one of his talmidim, are you?" He denied it, and said, "I am not."
Simon Piter loe angdoet moe, hmai angawt. To naah nihcae mah anih khaeah, Nang doeh anih hnukbang kaminawk thung ih maeto toeng na ai maw? tiah a naa o. Anih mah angphat taak, kai na ai ni, tiah a naa.
26 One of the servants of the cohen hagadol, being a relative of him whose ear Peter had cut off, said, "Did I not see you in the garden with him?"
Kalen koek qaima ih tamna maeto ah kaom, Piter mah naa takroek pae pat ih tamna ih canawk maeto mah, nang loe Anih hoi nawnto takha thungah kaom kang hnuk ih kami na ai maw? tiah a naa.
27 Peter therefore denied it again, and immediately the rooster crowed.
Toe Piter mah, angphat taak let bae: akra ai ah aakhong roep.
28 They led Yeshua therefore from Caiaphas into the Praetorium. It was early, and they themselves did not enter into the Praetorium, that they might not be defiled, but might eat the Passover.
To pacoengah nihcae mah khawnthaw ah Jesu to Kaiapha im hoi lokcaekhaih im bangah caeh o haih: nihcae loe amhnong moeng tih, tiah poek o pongah, lokcaekhaih imthung ah caeh o ai; amhnong kaminawk loe misong loihaih poihkung ih buh to caa o thai mak ai.
29 Pilate therefore went out to them, and said, "What accusation do you bring against this man?"
To pongah Pilat mah nihcae khaeah caeh moe, Tih zae nethaih maw oh moe, hae kami hae kai khaeah nang hoih o? tiah a naa.
30 They answered him, "If this man weren't an evildoer, we would not have delivered him up to you."
Nihcae mah anih khaeah, Sethaih sah kami ah om ai nahaeloe, anih hae nang khaeah kang hoi o tih maw? tiah a naa o.
31 Pilate therefore said to them, "Take him yourselves, and judge him according to your law." Therefore the Jewish leaders said to him, "It is not lawful for us to put anyone to death,"
Pilat mah nihcae khaeah, Anih hae hoi oh loe, nangmacae ih daan baktiah lokcaek oh, tiah a naa. Toe Judahnawk mah anih khaeah, Kaicae loe mi kawbaktih doeh hum thaihaih daan ka tawn o ai, tiah a naa o.
32 that the word of Yeshua might be fulfilled, which he spoke, signifying by what kind of death he should die.
To tiah thuih ih lok loe, kawbaktih duekhaih hoiah maw Jesu dueh tih, tiah thuih ih lok akoephaih han ih ni oh.
33 Pilate therefore entered again into the Praetorium, called Yeshua, and said to him, "Are you the King of the Jews?"
To pacoengah Pilat loe lokcaekhaih imthung ah akun let moe, Jesu to kawk, anih khaeah, Nang loe Judahnawk ih Siangpharang maw? tiah a naa.
34 Yeshua answered him, "Do you say this by yourself, or did others tell you about me?"
Jesu mah anih khaeah, Nangmah koeh ah maw hae lok hae na thuih? To tih ai boeh loe kalah kaminawk mah maw kai kawng hae ang thuih o? tiah a naa.
35 Pilate answered, "I'm not a Jew, am I? Your own nation and the chief cohanim delivered you to me. What have you done?"
Pilat mah, Kai loe Judah kami ah maw ka oh? Nangmah ih kaminawk hoi kalen koek qaima mah ni nang hae kai khaeah ang thak o: timaw na sak? tiah a naa.
36 Yeshua answered, "My Kingdom is not of this world. If my Kingdom were of this world, then my servants would fight, that I would not be delivered to the Jewish leaders. But now my Kingdom is not from here."
Jesu mah, Ka mah siangpahrang ah ukkhaih prae loe hae long nuiah om ai: hae long hae ka ukhaih prae ah om nahaeloe, Judahnawk khaeah kai ang thak o han ai ah, ka tamnanawk mah tuh o tih: toe vaihi kai mah siangpahrang ah ukhaih prae loe hae long nuiah om ai, tiah a naa.
37 Pilate therefore said to him, "Are you a king then?" Yeshua answered, "You say that I am a king. For this reason I have been born, and for this reason I have come into the world, that I should testify to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice."
Pilat mah anih khaeah, To tih nahaeloe nang loe Siangpahrang takhae? tiah a naa. Jesu mah, Kai loe Siangpahrang ah ka oh, tiah na thuih ih lok loe amsoem. Kai loe loktang hnukung ah oh han ih ni, ka tapen moe, long ah kang zoh. Mi kawbaktih doeh loktang ah kaom kami mah loe, ka lok to tahngaih, tiah pathim pae.
38 Pilate said to him, "What is truth?" When he had said this, he went out again to the Jewish leaders, and said to them, "I find no basis for a charge against him.
Pilat mah anih khaeah, Loktang loe timaw? tiah a naa. Anih mah hae lok thuih pacoengah, Judahnawk khaeah tasa bangah caeh let moe, nihcae khaeah, Anih nuiah zaehaih tidoeh ka hnu ai, tiah a naa.
39 But you have a custom, that I should release someone to you at the Passover. Therefore do you want me to release to you the King of the Jews?"
Toe nangmacae ih atawk baktih toengah misong loihhaih poih ah kami maeto kang prawt pae o han oh, to pongah Judah Siangpahrang hae kang prawt pae o han maw? tiah a naa.
40 Then they shouted again, saying, "Not this man, but Barabbas." Now Barabbas was a robber.
To naah nihcae boih mah, Hae kami na ai, Barabba to prawt ah, tiah a hangh o. Barabba loe mingcah ah oh.
