< Hebrews 7 >

1 For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, cohen of God Most High, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him,
Malkiiseedeq mootii Saalemiitii fi luba Waaqa Waan Hundaa Olii ture. Innis utuu Abrahaam mootota moʼatee deebiʼuu itti dhufee isa eebbise;
2 to whom also Abraham divided "a tenth part of everything" (being first, by interpretation, king of righteousness, and then also king of Salem, which is king of peace;
Abrahaamis waan hundumaa kudhan keessaa tokko isaaf kenne. Jalqabatti maqaan isaa, “Mootii qajeelummaa” jechuu dha; ergasii immoo, “Mootii Saalem” jechuunis, “Mootii nagaa” jechuu dha.
3 without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but made like the Son of God), remains a cohen continually.
Inni abbaa yookaan haadha hin qabu; hidda dhalootaas hin qabu; jalqaba guyyootaa yookaan dhuma jireenyaas hin qabu; inni akkuma Ilma Waaqaatti luba bara baraa taʼee jiraata.
4 Now consider how great this man was, to whom even Abraham, the patriarch, gave a tenth out of the most valuable plunder.
Egaa Abrahaam hangafni abbootii iyyuu erga waan boojiʼe irraa kudhan keessaa tokko isaaf kennee, Malkiiseedeq hammam guddaa akka taʼe mee ilaalaa!
5 They indeed of the sons of Levi who became cohanim have a commandment to take tithes of the people according to the Law, that is, of their brothers, though these have come out of the body of Abraham,
Ilmaan Lewwii warri luboota taʼan yoo obboloonni isaanii sanyii Abrahaam taʼan iyyuu namoota irraa jechuunis obbolootuma isaanii irraa kudhan keessaa tokko akka fudhatan seerri ni ajaja.
6 but he whose genealogy is not counted from them has accepted tithes from Abraham, and has blessed him who has the promises.
Namichi sanyii isaanii irraa hin taʼin kun garuu Abrahaam isa waadaan galameef sana irraa kudhan keessaa tokko fudhatee isa eebbise.
7 But without any dispute the lesser is blessed by the greater.
Inni xinnaan akka isa guddaadhaan eebbifamu shakkii hin qabu.
8 Here people who die receive tithes, but there one receives tithes of whom it is testified that he lives.
Karaa tokkoon kudhan keessaa tokko namoota duʼa hin oolleen walitti qabama; karaa kaaniin immoo isa jiraataa taʼuun isaa dhugaa baʼameef sanaan walitti qabama.
9 We can say that through Abraham even Levi, who receives tithes, has paid tithes,
Lewwiin inni kudhan keessaa tokko walitti qabu mataan isaa iyyuu kudhan keessaa harka tokko karaa Abrahaamiitiin baaseera jechuun ni dandaʼama;
10 for he was yet in the body of his father when Melchizedek met him.
Malkiiseedeq yommuu Abrahaamin simatetti Lewwiin mudhii abbaa ofii isaa keessa tureetii.
11 Now if there was perfection through the Levitical system of cohanim (for under it the people have received the law), what further need was there for another cohen to arise after the order of Melchizedek, and not be called after the order of Aaron?
Utuu sirni lubummaa Lewwii kan hirʼina hin qabne taʼee, silaa lubni biraa kan akka sirna lubummaa Aroonitti utuu hin taʼin lubni akka sirna lubummaa Malkiiseedeqitti filatame dhufuun isaa maaliif barbaachise ree? Seerri sirna lubummaa Lewwii kana irratti hundeeffamee sabaaf kennameetii.
12 For the system of cohanim being changed, there is of necessity a change made also in the law.
Yommuu lubummaan geeddaramu seerichis akkasuma geeddaramaatii.
13 For he of whom these things are said belongs to another tribe, from which no one has officiated at the altar.
Inni wanni kun waaʼee isaa dubbatame sun gosti isaa kan biraa ti; gosa kana keessaas namni tokko iyyuu takkumaa iddoo aarsaa hin tajaajille.
14 For it is evident that our Lord has sprung out of Judah, about which tribe Moses spoke nothing concerning cohanim.
Gooftaan keenya akka sanyii Yihuudaa irraa dhalate beekamaadhaatii; Museenis gosa sana ilaalchisee waaʼee lubummaa homaa hin dubbanne.
15 This is yet more abundantly evident, if after the likeness of Melchizedek there arises another cohen,
Yommuu lubni akka Malkiiseedeqi kan biraa kaʼutti, wanni nu dubbanne sun ittuma caalee ifa taʼa;
16 who has been made, not after the law of a fleshly commandment, but after the power of an endless life:
innis utuu ajaja fooniitiin hin taʼin humna jireenya hin badneetiin luba taʼe.
17 for it is testified, "You are a cohen forever, according to the order of Melchizedek." (aiōn g165)
Waaʼee isaas, “Akkuma sirna Malkiiseedeqitti, ati luba bara baraa ti” jedhamee dhugaa baʼameeraafiitii. (aiōn g165)
18 For there is an annulling of a foregoing commandment because of its weakness and uselessness
Ajajni duraa sun waan dadhabaa fi kan hin fayyadne tureef diigameera.
19 (for the law made nothing perfect), and a bringing in of a better hope, through which we draw near to God.
Sababii seerri waanuma tokko illee kan mudaa hin qabne hin godhiniif abdiin caalu kan nu ittiin gara Waaqaatti dhiʼaannu tokko dhufeera.
20 Inasmuch as he was not made cohen without the taking of an oath,
Kunis kakaa malee hin taane! Warri kaan immoo kakaa tokko malee luboota taʼan;
21 for they indeed have been made cohanim without an oath, but he with an oath by him that says of him, "The Lord swore and will not change his mind, 'You are a cohen forever, according to the order of Melchizedek.'" (aiōn g165)
inni garuu yeroo Waaqni, “Gooftaan, ‘Ati luba bara baraa ti’ jedhee kakateera; inni yaada isaa hin geeddaru” isaan jedhetti kakaadhaan luba taʼe. (aiōn g165)
22 Accordingly Yeshua has become the guarantor of a better covenant.
Yesuus sababii kakaa kanaatiif kakuu caaluuf wabii taʼeera.
23 Many, indeed, have been made cohanim, because they are hindered from continuing by death.
Luboonni durii sababii duuti akka isaan tajaajila itti hin fufneef isaan dhowweef baayʼee turan;
24 But he, because he lives forever, has his position as cohen permanently. (aiōn g165)
Yesuus garuu waan bara baraan jiraatuuf lubummaa hin geeddaramne qaba. (aiōn g165)
25 Therefore he is also able to save completely those who draw near to God through him, seeing that he lives forever to make intercession for them.
Kanaaf inni yeroo hundumaa waan isaaniif kadhachuuf jiraatuuf warra karaa isaatiin gara Waaqaa dhufan guutumaan guutuutti fayyisuu ni dandaʼa.
26 For such a cohen hagadol was indeed fitting for us: holy, guiltless, undefiled, separated from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;
Egaa luba ol aanaa qulqulluu, kan mudaa hin qabne, kan xurii hin qabne, kan cubbamoota irraa adda taʼe, samii olittis kan kabajame akkasii qabaachuun nu barbaachisa.
27 who does not need, like those cohanim gedolim, to offer up sacrifices daily, first for his own sins, and then for those of the people. For he did this once for all, when he offered up himself.
Inni akka luboota ol aantota kaaniitti guyyuma guyyaan duraan dursee cubbuu ofii isaatiif, ergasii immoo cubbuu namootaatiif aarsaa dhiʼeessuun isa hin barbaachisu. Inni yommuu of kenne sanatti al tokko yeroo hundaaf cubbuu namootaatiif aarsaa dhiʼeesseeraatii.
28 For the Law appoints men as cohanim gedolim who have weakness, but the word of the oath which came after the Law appoints a Son forever who has been perfected. (aiōn g165)
Seerichi namoota dadhaboo, luboota ol aantota godhee muudaatii; dubbiin kakaa kan seera booddee dhufe garuu, Ilma Waaqaa isa bara baraan mudaa hin qabne sana muuda. (aiōn g165)
