< Galatians 3 >
1 Foolish Galatians, who has cunningly deceived you, before whose eyes Yeshua the Messiah was openly set forth as crucified?
O foolish Galatians, who has been bewitching you, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was set forth having been crucified?
2 I just want to learn this from you. Did you receive the Ruach by the works of the law, or by hearing of faith?
I only wish to learn this from you, Did you receive the Spirit by works of law, or by hearing of faith?
3 Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Ruach, are you now completed in the flesh?
Are you so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are you now made perfect in the flesh?
4 Did you suffer so many things in vain, if it is indeed in vain?
Have you suffered so many things in vain? if indeed in vain.
5 He therefore who supplies the Ruach to you, and works miracles among you, does he do it by the works of the law, or by hearing of faith?
Then did the one imparting to you the Spirit, and working miracles, among you, do it by works of law, or by hearing of faith?
6 Even as Abraham "believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness."
As Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.
7 Know therefore that those who are of faith, the same are sons of Abraham.
Then know that those who are of faith, the same are the sons of Abraham.
8 The Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the non-Jews by faith, preached the Good News beforehand to Abraham, saying, "Through you all the nations will be blessed."
But the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel to Abraham beforehand, That in thee shall all the Gentiles be blessed.
9 So then, those who are of faith are blessed with the faithful Abraham.
Therefore those who are of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.
10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under a curse. For it is written, "Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things that are written in the book of the law, to do them."
For so many as are of works of law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one who does not abide in all things which have been written in the book of the law, to do the same.
11 Now it is evident that that no one is justified by the law before God, for, "The righteous will live by faith."
But that no one is justified by law in the sight of God, is evident: because, The just shall live by faith:
12 The law is not of faith, but, "The one who does them will live by them."
though the law is not of faith; but the one having done these things shall live in them.
13 Messiah redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us. For it is written, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree,"
Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: because it has been written; Cursed is every one having been hung on the wood:
14 that the blessing of Abraham might come on the non-Jews through Messiah Yeshua; that we might receive the promise of the Ruach through faith.
in order that the blessing of Abraham in Christ Jesus may come to the Gentiles; in order that we may receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
15 Brothers, I am speaking in human terms. Though it is only a human covenant, once it has been ratified, no one annuls it or adds to it.
Brethren, I speak according to a man, nevertheless no one disannuls, or adds to, the covenant of a man which has been confirmed.
16 Now the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his offspring. He does not say, "And to offsprings," as of many, but as of one, "And to your offspring," which is Messiah.
But the promises were spoken to Abraham and his seed. He does not say, And unto seeds, as of many; but as of one; And thy seed, which is Christ.
17 Now I say this: the law, which came four hundred thirty years later, does not annul a covenant previously ratified by God, so as to cancel the promise.
And I say this; The law which was given after four hundred and thirty years, does not disannul the covenant which had been before confirmed of God, so as to make the promise of none effect.
18 For if the inheritance is of the law, it is no more of promise; but God has granted it to Abraham by promise.
For if the inheritance were by law, it is no more by promise: but God gave it to Abraham through the promise.
19 What then is the law? It was added because of transgressions, until the offspring should come to whom the promise has been made. It was ordained through angels by the hand of a mediator.
Then what is the law? It was added on account of the transgressions, until the seed to whom the promise was made should come; being ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.
20 Now a mediator is not between one, but God is one.
A mediator is not of one; but God is one.
21 Is the law then against the promises of God? Certainly not. For if there had been a law given which could give life, most certainly righteousness would have been of the law.
Then was the law against the promises of God? it could not be so. For if the law was given being able to create life, truly justification would have been by law:
22 But the Scriptures imprisoned all things under sin, that the promise by faith in Yeshua the Messiah might be given to those who believe.
but the scripture has shut up all things unto sin, in order that the promise through faith of Jesus Christ may be given to those who believe.
23 But before faith came, we were kept in custody under the law, confined for the faith which should afterwards be revealed.
But before faith came, we were kept under law, being shut up to the faith about to be revealed.
24 So that the law was our tutor to bring us to Messiah, that we might be justified by faith.
Therefore the law became our schoolmaster to lead us to Christ, in order that we may be justified by faith;
25 But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor.
but faith having come, we are no longer under the schoolmaster.
26 For you are all sons of God, through faith in Messiah Yeshua.
For you are all the sons of God, through faith, in Christ Jesus;
27 For as many of you as were immersed into Messiah have put on Messiah.
for so many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Messiah Yeshua.
There is no longer Jew nor Greek, nor bond nor free, nor male and female: for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
29 If you are Messiah's, then you are Abraham's offspring and heirs according to promise.
But if you belong to Christ then you are the seed of Abraham, heirs according to the promise.
