Ezra 5
1 Now the prophets, Haggai the prophet, and Zechariah the son of Iddo, prophesied to the Jews who were in Judah and Jerusalem; in the name of the God of Israel they prophesied to them.
൧അപ്പോൾ ഹഗ്ഗായി, ഇദ്ദോവിന്റെ മകൻ സെഖര്യാവ് എന്നീ പ്രവാചകന്മാർ യെഹൂദയിലും യെരൂശലേമിലും ഉള്ള യെഹൂദന്മാരോട്, തങ്ങളുടെമേൽ ഉള്ള യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ പ്രവചിച്ചു.
2 Then rose up Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and began to build God's house which is at Jerusalem; and with them were the prophets of God, helping them.
൨അങ്ങനെ ശെയൽതീയേലിന്റെ മകൻ സെരുബ്ബാബേലും, യോസാദാക്കിന്റെ മകൻ യേശുവയും ചേർന്ന് യെരൂശലേമിലെ ദൈവാലയം പണിവാൻ തുടങ്ങി; ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പ്രവാചകന്മാരും അവരെ സഹായിച്ചു.
3 At the same time came to them Tattenai, the governor beyond the River, and Shetharbozenai, and their companions, and said thus to them, "Who gave you a decree to build this house, and to finish this wall?"
൩ആ കാലത്ത് നദിക്ക് മറുകരയിലുള്ള ദേശാധിപതിയായ തത്നായിയും, ശെഥർ-ബോസ്നായിയും, അവരുടെ കൂട്ടുകാരും അടുക്കൽവന്ന് അവരോട്: ഈ ആലയം പണിവാനും മതിൽ കെട്ടുവാനും നിങ്ങൾക്ക് കൽപ്പന തന്നത് ആരെന്നും
4 Then they asked them, "What are the names of the men who are constructing this building?
൪ഈ കെട്ടിടം പണിയുന്ന ആളുകളുടെ പേരെന്തെന്നും അവരോട് ചോദിച്ചു.
5 But the eye of their God was on the elders of the Jews, and they did not make them cease, until the matter should come to Daryavesh, and then answer should be returned by letter concerning it.
൫എന്നാൽ ദൈവം യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ മൂപ്പന്മാരെ കടാക്ഷിച്ചതുകൊണ്ട്, ഈ കാര്യം ദാര്യാവേശിന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽ ബോധിപ്പിച്ച്, മറുപടി വരുന്നത് വരെ പണി തടസ്സപ്പെടുത്തുവാൻ അവർക്ക് സാധിച്ചില്ല.
6 The copy of the letter that Tattenai, the governor beyond the River, and Shetharbozenai, and his companions the Apharsachites, who were beyond the River, sent to Daryavesh the king;
൬നദിക്ക് അക്കരെ ദേശാധിപതിയായ തത്നായിയും, ശെഥർ-ബോസ്നായിയും, നദിക്ക് മറുകരയിലുള്ള അഫർസ്യരായ അവന്റെ കൂട്ടുകാരും ദാര്യാവേശ്‌രാജാവിന് എഴുതി അയച്ച പത്രികയുടെ പകർപ്പ്;
7 they sent a letter to him, in which was written thus: To Daryavesh the king, all peace.
൭അവർ അവന് ഒരു പത്രിക കൊടുത്തയച്ചു, അതിൽ എഴുതിയത് എന്തെന്നാൽ: “ദാര്യാവേശ്‌രാജാവിന് സർവമംഗളവും ഭവിക്കട്ടെ”
8 Be it known to the king, that we went into the province of Judah, to the house of the great God, which is built with great stones, and timber is laid in the walls; and this work goes on with diligence and prospers in their hands.
൮രാജാവ് അറിഞ്ഞാലും “ഞങ്ങൾ യെഹൂദാസംസ്ഥാനത്തിൽ മഹാദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആലയത്തിലേക്ക് ചെന്നു; അത് അവർ വലിയ കല്ലുകൊണ്ട് പണിയുന്നു; ചുവരിന്മേൽ ഉത്തരം കയറ്റുന്നു; അവർ ജാഗ്രതയായി പണിനടത്തുന്നു; അവർക്ക് അത് സാധിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.
9 Then we asked those elders, and said to them thus, "Who gave you a decree to build this house, and to finish this wall?"
൯ഞങ്ങൾ ആ മൂപ്പന്മാരോട്: ഈ ആലയം പണിവാനും, മതിൽ കെട്ടുവാനും നിങ്ങൾക്ക് കല്പന തന്നത് ആരെന്ന് ചോദിച്ചു.
10 We asked them their names also, to inform you that we might write the names of the men who were at their head.
൧൦അവരുടെ ഇടയിൽ തലവന്മാരായ ആളുകളുടെ പേരുകൾ എഴുതി സന്നിധാനത്തിൽ അയക്കേണ്ടതിന് ഞങ്ങൾ അവരുടെ പേരും അവരോട് ചോദിച്ചു.
11 Thus they returned us answer, saying, "We are the servants of the God of heaven and earth, and are building the house that was built these many years ago, which a great king of Israel built and finished.
൧൧എന്നാൽ അവർ ഞങ്ങളോട്: ഞങ്ങൾ സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിനും, ഭൂമിക്കും ദൈവമായവന്റെ ശുശ്രൂഷക്കാരാകുന്നു; അനേക വർഷങ്ങൾക്ക് മുമ്പ് പണിതിരുന്ന ആലയം ഞങ്ങൾ പണിയുന്നു; അത് യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ഒരു മഹാരാജാവ് പണിതതായിരുന്നു.
12 But after that our fathers had provoked the God of heaven to wrath, he gave them into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, the Chaldean, who destroyed this house, and carried the people away into Babylon.
൧൨എങ്കിലും, ഞങ്ങളുടെ പൂര്‍വ്വ പിതാക്കന്മാർ സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിലെ ദൈവത്തെ കോപിപ്പിച്ചതുകൊണ്ട്, അവൻ അവരെ ബാബേൽരാജാവായ നെബൂഖദ്നേസർ എന്ന കൽദയന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിച്ചു; അവൻ ഈ ആലയം നശിപ്പിച്ച് ജനത്തെ ബാബേലിലേക്ക് കൊണ്ടുപോയി.
13 But in the first year of Koresh king of Babylon, Koresh the king made a decree to build this house of God.
൧൩എന്നാൽ ബാബേൽരാജാവായ കോരെശിന്റെ ഒന്നാം ആണ്ടിൽ കോരെശ്‌രാജാവ് ഈ ദൈവാലയം പണിവാൻ കല്പന തന്നു.
14 The gold and silver vessels also of God's house, which Nebuchadnezzar took out of the temple that was in Jerusalem, and brought into the temple of Babylon, those Koresh the king took out of the temple of Babylon, and they were delivered to one whose name was Sheshbazzar, whom he had made governor;
൧൪നെബൂഖദ്നേസർ യെരൂശലേമിലെ മന്ദിരത്തിൽനിന്ന് എടുത്ത് ബാബേലിലെ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ കൊണ്ടുപോയി വെച്ചിരുന്ന ദൈവാലയം വക പൊന്നും വെള്ളിയും കൊണ്ടുള്ള ഉപകരണങ്ങളെ കോരെശ്‌രാജാവ് എടുപ്പിച്ച് താൻ നിയമിച്ചിരുന്ന ശേശ്ബസ്സർ എന്നു പേരുള്ള ദേശാധിപതിക്ക് ഏല്പിച്ചുകൊടുത്ത് അവനോട്
15 and he said to him, 'Take these vessels, go, put them in the temple that is in Jerusalem, and let God's house be built in its place.'
൧൫ഈ ഉപകരണങ്ങൾ നീ എടുത്ത് യെരൂശലേമിലെ മന്ദിരത്തിലേക്ക് കൊണ്ടുചെല്ലുക; ദൈവാലയം അതിന്റെ സ്ഥാനത്തു പണിയട്ടെ എന്ന് കല്പിച്ചു.
16 Then the same Sheshbazzar came, and laid the foundations of God's house which is in Jerusalem: and since that time even until now has it been in building, and yet it is not completed.
൧൬അങ്ങനെ ശേശ്ബസ്സർ വന്ന് യെരൂശലേമിലെ ദൈവാലയത്തിന്റെ അടിസ്ഥാനം ഇട്ടു; അന്നുമുതൽ ഇന്നുവരെ അത് പണിതുവരുന്നു; ഇതുവരെ അത് തീർന്നിട്ടില്ല എന്ന് അവർ ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.
17 Now therefore, if it seem good to the king, let a search be made in the king's treasure house, which is there at Babylon, whether it be so, that a decree was made of Koresh the king to build this house of God at Jerusalem; and let the king send his pleasure to us concerning this matter."
൧൭ആകയാൽ രാജാവ് തിരുമനസ്സായി യെരൂശലേമിലെ ഈ ദൈവാലയം പണിവാൻ കോരെശ്‌രാജാവ് കല്പന കൊടുത്തത് വാസ്തവമോ എന്ന് ബാബേലിലെ രാജഭണ്ഡാരഗൃഹത്തിൽ പരിശോധിച്ച് ഇതിനെക്കുറിച്ച് തിരുവുള്ളം എന്തെന്ന് ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് എഴുതി അയച്ചുതരേണമെന്ന് അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു”.
