Acts 6
1 Now in those days, when the number of the talmidim was multiplying, a complaint arose from the Hellenists against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily service.
उन दिनों में जब शागिर्द बहुत होते जाते थे, तो यूनानी माइल यहूदी इब्रानियों की शिकायत करने लगे; इसलिए कि रोज़ाना ख़बरगीरी में उनकी बेवाओं के बारे में लापरवाही होती थी।
2 So the twelve summoned the full number of the talmidim and said, "It is not appropriate for us to forsake the word of God and serve tables.
और उन बारह ने शागिर्दों की जमा'अत को अपने पास बुलाकर कहा, मुनासिब नहीं कि हम ख़ुदा के कलाम को छोड़कर खाने पीने का इन्तिज़ाम करें।
3 Therefore select from among you, brothers, seven men of good report, full of the Ruach and of wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.
पस, ऐ भाइयों! अपने में से सात नेक नाम शख़्सों को चुन लो जो रूह और दानाई से भरे हुए हों; कि हम उनको इस काम पर मुक़र्रर करें।
4 But we will continue steadfastly in prayer and in the ministry of the word."
लेकिन हम तो दुआ में और कलाम की ख़िदमत में मशग़ूल रहेंगे।
5 And these words pleased the whole gathering. They chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Ruach ha-Kodesh, Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolaus, a proselyte of Antioch;
ये बात सारी जमा'अत को पसन्द आई, पस उन्होंने स्तिफ़नुस नाम एक शख़्स को जो ईमान और रूह — उल — क़ुद्दूस से भरा हुआ था और फ़िलिप्पुस, व प्रुख़ुरुस, और नीकानोर, और तीमोन, और पर्मिनास और नीकुलाउस। को जो नौ मुरीद यहूदी अन्ताकी था, चुन लिया।
6 whom they set before the emissaries. When they had prayed, they laid their hands on them.
और उन्हें रसूलों के आगे खड़ा किया; उन्होंने दुआ करके उन पर हाथ रखे।
7 The word of God increased and the number of the talmidim multiplied greatly in Jerusalem; and a large group of the cohanim were obedient to the faith.
और ख़ुदा का कलाम फैलता रहा, और येरूशलेम में शागिर्दों का शुमार बहुत ही बढ़ता गया, और काहिनों की बड़ी गिरोह इस दीन के तहत में हो गई।
8 Stephen, full of grace and power, performed great wonders and signs among the people.
स्तिफ़नुस फ़ज़ल और क़ुव्वत से भरा हुआ लोगों में बड़े बड़े अजीब काम और निशान ज़ाहिर किया करता था;
9 But some of those who were of the synagogue called "The Libertines," and of the Cyrenians, of the Alexandrians, and of those of Cilicia and Asia arose, disputing with Stephen.
कि उस इबादतख़ाने से जो लिबिरतीनों का कहलाता है; और कुरेनियों शहर और इस्कन्दरियों क़स्बा और उन में से जो किलकिया और आसिया सूबे के थे, ये कुछ लोग उठ कर स्तिफ़नुस से बहस करने लगे।
10 They weren't able to withstand the wisdom and the Ruach by which he spoke.
मगर वो उस दानाई और रूह का जिससे वो कलाम करता था, मुक़ाबिला न कर सके।
11 Then they secretly induced men to say, "We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses and God."
इस पर उन्होंने कुछ आदमियों को सिखाकर कहलवा दिया “हम ने इसको मूसा और ख़ुदा के बर — ख़िलाफ़ कुफ़्र की बातें करते सुना।”
12 They stirred up the people, the elders, and the scribes, and came against him and seized him, and brought him in to the council,
फिर वो 'अवाम और बुज़ुर्गों और आलिमों को उभार कर उस पर चढ़ गए; और पकड़ कर सद्रे — ए — 'अदालत में ले गए।
13 and set up false witnesses who said, "This man never stops speaking blasphemous words against this holy place and the Law.
और झूठे गवाह खड़े किए जिन्होंने कहा, ये शख़्स इस पाक मुक़ाम और शरी'अत के बरख़िलाफ़ बोलने से बाज़ नहीं आता।
14 For we have heard him say that this Yeshua the Natzrati will destroy this place, and will change the customs which Moses delivered to us."
क्यूँकि हम ने उसे ये कहते सुना है; कि वही ईसा नासरी इस मुक़ाम को बरबाद कर देगा, और उन रस्मों को बदल डालेगा, जो मूसा ने हमें सौंपी हैं।
15 All who sat in the council, fastening their eyes on him, saw his face like it was the face of an angel.
और उन सब ने जो अदालत में बैठे थे, उस पर ग़ौर से नज़र की तो देखा कि उसका चेहरा फ़रिश्ते के जैसा है।
