Acts 4

1 As they spoke to the people, the cohanim and the captain of the temple and the Sadducees came to them,

जब वे भीड़ को संबोधित कर ही रहे थे, कि अचानक पुरोहित गण, मंदिर रखवालों का प्रधान तथा सदूकी उनके पास आ पहुंचे.

2 being upset because they taught the people and proclaimed in Yeshua the resurrection from the dead.

वे अत्यंत क्रोधित थे क्योंकि प्रेरित भीड़ को शिक्षा देते हुए मसीह येशु में मरे हुओं के जी उठने की घोषणा कर रहे थे.

3 They laid hands on them, and put them in custody until the next day, for it was now evening.

उन्होंने उन्हें बंदी बनाकर अगले दिन तक के लिए कारागार में डाल दिया क्योंकि दिन ढल चुका था.

4 But many of those who heard the word believed, and the number of the men came to be about five thousand.

उनके संदेश को सुनकर अनेकों ने विश्वास किया, जिनकी संख्या लगभग पांच हज़ार तक पहुंच गई.

5 It happened in the morning, that their rulers, elders, and scribes were gathered together in Jerusalem.

अगले दिन यहूदियों के राजा, पुरनिये और शास्त्री येरूशलेम में इकट्ठा थे.

6 Annas the cohen hagadol was there, with Caiaphas, John, Alexander, and as many as were relatives of the cohen hagadol.

वहां महापुरोहित हन्‍ना, कायाफ़स, योहन, अलेक्सान्दरॉस तथा महायाजकीय वंश के सभी सदस्य इकट्ठा थे.

7 When they had stood them in the middle of them, they inquired, "By what power, or in what name, have you done this?"

उन्होंने प्रेरितों को सबके बीच खड़ा कर प्रश्न करना प्रारंभ कर दिया: “तुमने किस अधिकार से या किस नाम में यह किया है?”

8 Then Peter, filled with the Ruach ha-Kodesh, said to them, "Rulers of the people, and elders,

तब पवित्र आत्मा से भरकर पेतरॉस ने उत्तर दिया: “सम्माननीय राजागण और समाज के पुरनियों!

9 if we are examined today concerning a good deed done to a crippled man, by what means this man has been healed,

यदि आज हमारा परीक्षण इसलिये किया जा रहा है कि एक अपंग का कल्याण हुआ है और इसलिये कि यह व्यक्ति किस प्रक्रिया द्वारा स्वस्थ हुआ है,

10 be it known to you all, and to all the children of Israel, that in the name of Yeshua the Messiah the Natzrati, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, in him does this man stand here before you whole.

तो आप सभी को तथा, सभी इस्राएल राष्ट्र को यह मालूम हो कि यह सब नाज़रेथवासी, मसीह येशु के द्वारा किया गया है, जिन्हें आपने क्रूस का मृत्यु दंड दिया, किंतु जिन्हें परमेश्वर ने मरे हुओं में से दोबारा जीवित किया. आज उन्हीं के नाम के द्वारा स्वस्थ किया गया-यह व्यक्ति आपके सामने खड़ा है.

11 This one is the stone which was regarded as worthless by you, the builders, which has become the head of the corner.

मसीह येशु ही वह चट्टान हैं “‘जिन्हें आप भवन निर्माताओं ने ठुकरा कर अस्वीकृत कर दिया, जो कोने का प्रधान पत्थर बन गए.’

12 And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among people by which we must be saved."

उद्धार किसी अन्य में नहीं है क्योंकि आकाश के नीचे मनुष्यों के लिए दूसरा कोई नाम दिया ही नहीं गया जिसके द्वारा हमारा उद्धार हो.”

13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and had perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they were amazed. They recognized that they had been with Yeshua.

पेतरॉस तथा योहन का यह साहस देख और यह जानकर कि वे दोनों अनपढ़ और साधारण व्यक्ति हैं, वे चकित रह गए. उन्हें धीरे धीरे यह याद आया कि ये वे हैं, जो मसीह येशु के साथी रहे हैं.

14 Seeing the man who was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it.

किंतु स्वस्थ हुए व्यक्ति की उपस्थिति के कारण वे कुछ न कह सके;

15 But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves,

उन्होंने उन्हें सभागार से बाहर जाने की आज्ञा दी. तब वे आपस में विचार-विमर्श करने लगे,

16 saying, "What shall we do to these men? Because indeed a notable miracle has been done through them, as can be plainly seen by all who dwell in Jerusalem, and we cannot deny it.

“हम इनके साथ क्या करें? यह तो स्पष्ट है कि इनके द्वारा एक असाधारण चमत्कार अवश्य हुआ है और यह येरूशलेम निवासियों को भी मालूम हो चुका है. इस सच को हम नकार नहीं सकते.

17 But so this does not spread any further among the people, let us severely threaten them, that from now on they do not speak to anyone in this name."

किंतु लोगों में इस समाचार का और अधिक प्रसार न हो, हम इन्हें यह चेतावनी दें कि अब वे किसी से भी इस नाम का वर्णन करते हुए बातचीत न करें.”

18 They called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Yeshua.

तब उन्होंने उन्हें भीतर बुलाकर आज्ञा दी कि वे न तो येशु नाम का वर्णन करें और न ही उसके विषय में कोई शिक्षा दें.

19 But Peter and John answered them, "Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than to God, judge for yourselves,

किंतु पेतरॉस और योहन ने उन्हें उत्तर दिया, “आप स्वयं निर्णय कीजिए कि परमेश्वर की दृष्टि में उचित क्या है: आपकी आज्ञा का पालन या परमेश्वर की आज्ञा का.

20 for we cannot help telling the things which we saw and heard."

हमसे तो यह हो ही नहीं सकता कि जो कुछ हमने देखा और सुना है उसका वर्णन न करें.”

21 When they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding no way to punish them, because of the people; for everyone glorified God for that which was done.

इस पर यहूदी प्रधानों ने उन्हें दोबारा धमकी देकर छोड़ दिया. उन्हें यह सूझ ही नहीं रहा था कि उन्हें किस आधार पर दंड दिया जाए क्योंकि सभी लोग इस घटना के लिए परमेश्वर की स्तुति कर रहे थे.

22 For the man on whom this miracle of healing was performed was more than forty years old.

उस व्यक्ति की उम्र, जो अद्भुत रूप से स्वस्थ हुआ था, चालीस वर्ष से अधिक थी.

23 Being let go, they came to their own company, and reported all that the chief cohanim and the elders had said to them.

मुक्त होने पर प्रेरितों ने अपने साथियों को जा बताया कि प्रधान पुरोहितों और पुरनियों ने उनसे क्या-क्या कहा था.

24 When they heard it, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, "Lord, you made the heaven and the earth and the sea, and all that is in them.

यह विवरण सुनकर उन सबने एक मन हो ऊंचे शब्द में परमेश्वर से प्रार्थना की: “परम प्रधान प्रभु, आप ही हैं जिन्होंने स्वर्ग, पृथ्वी, समुद्र और इनमें निवास कर रहे प्राणियों की सृष्टि की है.

25 You said through the Ruach ha-Kodesh, through the mouth of our father David your servant: 'Why do the nations rage, and the peoples plot in vain?

आपने ही पवित्र आत्मा से अपने सेवक, हमारे पूर्वज दावीद के द्वारा कहा: “‘राष्ट्र क्रोधित क्यों होते हैं जातियां व्यर्थ योजनाएं क्यों करती हैं?

26 The kings of the earth take a stand, and the rulers take council together, against the Lord, and against his Messiah.'

पृथ्वी के राजागण मोर्चा बांधते और शासकलोग प्रभु के विरुद्ध और उनके अभिषिक्त के विरुद्ध एकजुट हो उठ खड़े होते हैं.’

27 "For truly, in this city against your holy servant, Yeshua, whom you anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the non-Jews and the children of Israel, were gathered together

यह एक सच्चाई है कि इस नगर में हेरोदेस तथा पोन्तियॉस पिलातॉस दोनों ही इस्राएलियों तथा गैर-यहूदियों के साथ मिलकर आपके द्वारा अभिषिक्त, आपके पवित्र सेवक मसीह येशु के विरुद्ध एकजुट हो गए

28 to do whatever your hand and your council foreordained to happen.

कि जो कुछ आपके सामर्थ्य और उद्देश्य के अनुसार पहले से निर्धारित था, वही हो.

29 Now, Lord, look at their threats, and grant to your servants to speak your word with all boldness,

प्रभु, उनकी धमकियों की ओर ध्यान दीजिए और अपने दासों को यह सामर्थ्य दीजिए कि वे आपके वचन का प्रचार बिना डर के कर सकें

30 while you stretch out your hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of your holy Servant Yeshua."

जब आप अपने सामर्थ्यी स्पर्श के द्वारा चंगा करते तथा अपने पवित्र सेवक मसीह येशु के द्वारा अद्भुत चिह्नों का प्रदर्शन करते जाते हैं.”

31 When they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were gathered together. They were all filled with the Ruach ha-Kodesh, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.

उनकी यह प्रार्थना समाप्‍त होते ही वह भवन, जिसमें वे इकट्ठा थे, थरथरा गया और वे सभी पवित्र आत्मा से भर गए और बिना डर के परमेश्वर के संदेश का प्रचार करने लगे.

32 And the full number of those who believed were of one heart and soul. Not one of them claimed that anything of the things which he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common.

शिष्यों के इस समुदाय में सभी एक मन और एक प्राण थे. कोई भी अपने धन पर अपना अधिकार नहीं जताता था. उन सभी का धन एक में मिला हुआ था.

33 With great power, the emissaries gave their testimony of the resurrection of the Lord Yeshua. Great grace was on them all.

प्रेरितगण असाधारण सामर्थ्य के साथ प्रभु येशु मसीह के दोबारा जी उठने की गवाही दिया करते थे और परमेश्वर का असीम अनुग्रह उन पर बना था.

34 For neither was there among them any who lacked, for as many as were owners of lands or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of the things that were sold,

उनमें कोई भी निर्धन नहीं था क्योंकि उनमें जो खेतों व मकानों के स्वामी थे, अपनी संपत्ति बेचकर उससे प्राप्‍त धनराशि लाते

35 and put them at the emissaries' feet, and distribution was made to each, according as anyone had need.

और प्रेरितों के चरणों में रख देते थे, जिसे ज़रूरत के अनुसार निर्धनों में बांट दिया जाता था.

36 Joseph, who by the emissaries was surnamed Barnabas (which is translated, Son of Encouragement), a Levite, a native of Cyprus by birth,

योसेफ़ नामक एक सैप्रसवासी लेवी थे, जिन्हें प्रेरितों द्वारा बारनबास नाम दिया गया था, जिसका अर्थ है प्रोत्साहन का पुत्र,

37 having a field, sold it, and brought the money and put it at the emissaries' feet.

उन्होंने अपनी भूमि को बेच दिया और उससे प्राप्‍त धन लाकर प्रेरितों के चरणों में रख दिया.
