Acts 16
1 He came also to Derbe and Lystra. And look, a certain talmid was there, named Timothy, the son of a Jewish woman who believed; but his father was a Greek.
Atunci a ajuns la Derbe și Listra; și iată, acolo era un anumit discipol numit Timotei, fiul unei femei iudeice care credea; iar tatăl lui era grec;
2 The brothers who were at Lystra and Iconium gave a good testimony about him.
Care avea o mărturie bună de la frații care erau în Listra și Iconia.
3 Paul wanted to have him go out with him, and he took and circumcised him because of the Jews who were in those parts; for they all knew that his father was a Greek.
Pe el îl voia Pavel să meargă mai departe cu el; și l-a luat și l-a circumcis din cauza iudeilor care erau în acele locuri; fiindcă toți știau că tatăl lui era grec.
4 As they went on their way through the cities, they delivered the decrees to them to keep which had been ordained by the emissaries and elders who were at Jerusalem.
Și în timp ce treceau prin cetăți, le încredințau să păzească hotărârile care fuseseră rânduite de apostolii și bătrânii care erau în Ierusalim.
5 So the congregations were strengthened in the faith, and increased in number daily.
Atunci, bisericile au fost întărite în credință și creșteau la număr în fiecare zi.
6 When they had gone through the region of Phrygia and Galatia, they were forbidden by the Ruach ha-Kodesh to speak the word in Asia.
Și după ce au străbătut Frigia și regiunea Galatiei, au fost opriți de Duhul Sfânt să predice cuvântul în Asia.
7 When they had come opposite Mysia, they tried to go into Bithynia, but the Ruach of Yeshua did not allow them.
După ce au venit la Misia, au încercat să meargă în Bitinia; dar Duhul nu i-a lăsat.
8 Passing by Mysia, they came down to Troas.
Și, trecând pe lângă Misia, au coborât la Troas.
9 A vision appeared to Paul in the night. There was a man of Macedonia standing, begging him, and saying, "Come over into Macedonia and help us."
Și o viziune i-a apărut în noapte lui Pavel; un anumit bărbat din Macedonia stătea în picioare, chemându-l și spunând: Vino în Macedonia și ajută-ne.
10 When he had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go out to Macedonia, concluding that the Lord had called us to proclaim the Good News to them.
Și după ce a văzut el viziunea, îndată am căutat să ajungem în Macedonia, concluzionând noi că Domnul ne-a chemat să le predicăm evanghelia.
11 Then, setting sail from Troas, we made a straight course to Samothrace, and the day following to Neapolis;
De aceea ridicând ancora din Troas, am navigat direct la Samotracia, și a doua zi la Neapolis;
12 and from there to Philippi, which is a principle city of that district of Macedonia, a colony. We were staying some days in this city.
Și de acolo la Filipi, care este cea mai de seamă cetate a acelei părți din Macedonia, o colonie; și am fost în acea cetate, rămânând câteva zile.
13 On the Sabbath day we went forth outside of the gate by a riverside, where we supposed there was a place of prayer, and we sat down, and spoke to the women who had come together.
Și în ziua de sabat ne-am dus afară din cetate, lângă râu, unde era de obicei rugăciune; și am stat jos și am vorbit femeilor care erau adunate.
14 A certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, one who worshiped God, heard us; whose heart the Lord opened to listen to the things which were spoken by Paul.
Și o anumită femeie, numită Lidia, vânzătoare de purpură din cetatea Tiatirei, care se închina lui Dumnezeu, ne-a auzit; a cărei inimă Domnul a deschis-o ca să dea atenție lucrurilor vorbite de Pavel.
15 When she and her household were immersed, she urged us, saying, "If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and stay." So she persuaded us.
Și după ce a fost botezată ea și casa ei, ne-a implorat, spunând: Dacă m-ați judecat a fi credincioasă Domnului, intrați în casa mea și rămâneți. Și ne-a constrâns.
16 It happened, as we were going to prayer, that a certain girl having a spirit of Python met us, who brought her masters much gain by fortune telling.
Și s-a întâmplat că, pe când mergeam noi la rugăciune, ne-a întâlnit o tânără roabă, posedată de un duh de ghicire, care aducea stăpânilor ei mult câștig prin ghicire;
17 She followed Paul and us, shouting, "These men are servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to you the way of salvation."
Aceasta, îl urma pe Pavel și pe noi și striga, spunând: Acești oameni sunt robii Dumnezeului cel preaînalt, care ne arată calea salvării.
18 She was doing this for many days. But Paul, becoming greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, "I command you in the name of Yeshua the Messiah to come out of her." And it came out at once.
Și a făcut aceasta multe zile. Dar Pavel, fiind mâhnit, s-a întors și a spus duhului: Îți poruncesc, în numele lui Isus Cristos, să ieși din ea. Și a ieșit în aceeași oră.
19 But when her masters saw that the hope of their gain was gone, they seized Paul and Silas, and dragged them into the marketplace before the rulers.
Și când stăpânii ei au văzut că se dusese speranța câștigului lor, i-au prins pe Pavel și Sila și i-au târât în piață la conducători;
20 When they had brought them to the magistrates, they said, "These men, being Jews, are agitating our city,
Și i-au adus la magistrați, spunând: Acești oameni, iudei fiind, tulbură foarte mult cetatea noastră,
21 and set forth customs which it is not lawful for us to accept or to observe, being Romans."
Și învață obiceiuri care nu ne sunt permise de lege nici să le primim, nici să le facem, romani fiind.
22 The crowd rose up together against them, and the magistrates tore their clothes off of them, and commanded them to be beaten with rods.
Și mulțimea s-a ridicat împreună împotriva lor; și magistrații le-au smuls hainele și au poruncit să îi bată.
23 When they had laid many stripes on them, they threw them into prison, charging the jailer to keep them safely,
Și după ce le-au dat multe lovituri, i-au aruncat în închisoare, poruncind temnicerului să îi țină în siguranță.
24 who, having received such a command, threw them into the inner prison, and secured their feet in the stocks.
Acesta, primind o astfel de poruncă, i-a aruncat în închisoarea interioară și le-a strâns picioarele în butuci.
25 But about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them.
Și la miezul nopții, Pavel și Sila se rugau și cântau laude lui Dumnezeu; și prizonierii îi auzeau.
26 Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone's bonds were loosened.
Și dintr-odată a fost un cutremur mare, așa încât s-au zguduit temeliile închisorii; și îndată, toate ușile s-au deschis și legăturile fiecăruia s-au dezlegat.
27 The jailer, being roused out of sleep and seeing the prison doors open, drew his sword and was about to kill himself, supposing that the prisoners had escaped.
Și temnicerul, trezindu-se din somnul său și văzând ușile închisorii deschise, a scos sabia și avea de gând să se omoare, presupunând că prizonierii fugiseră.
28 But Paul shouted loudly, saying, "Do not harm yourself, for we are all here."
Dar Pavel a strigat cu voce tare, spunând: Nu îți face niciun rău; fiindcă toți suntem aici.
29 He called for lights and sprang in, and, fell down trembling before Paul and Silas,
Atunci el a cerut o lumină și s-a repezit înăuntru și a venit tremurând și a căzut înaintea lui Pavel și Sila.
30 and brought them out and said, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?"
Și i-a dus afară și a spus: Domnilor, ce trebuie să fac pentru a fi salvat?
31 They said, "Believe in the Lord Yeshua, and you will be saved, you and your household."
Iar ei au spus: Crede în Domnul Isus Cristos și vei fi salvat tu și casa ta.
32 They spoke the word of the Lord to him, and to all who were in his house.
Și i-au vorbit cuvântul Domnului, lui și tuturor care erau în casa lui.
33 He took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes, and was immediately immersed, he and all his household.
Și el i-a luat în aceeași oră a nopții și le-a spălat loviturile; și îndată a fost botezat, el și toți ai lui.
34 He brought them up into his house, and set food before them, and rejoiced greatly, with all his household, having believed in God.
Și după ce i-a dus în casa lui, le-a pus mâncare înainte și s-a bucurat, crezând în Dumnezeu cu toată casa lui.
35 But when it was day, the magistrates sent the sergeants, saying, "Let those men go."
Și după ce s-a făcut ziuă, magistrații au trimis lictorii, spunând: Lăsați pe acești oameni să plece.
36 The jailer reported these words to Paul, saying, "The magistrates have sent to let you go; now therefore come out, and go in peace."
Și temnicerul a spus cuvintele acestea lui Pavel: Magistrații au trimis să vă las să plecați; acum așadar, plecați și mergeți în pace.
37 But Paul said to them, "They have beaten us publicly, without a trial, men who are Romans, and have cast us into prison. Do they now release us secretly? No indeed. Let them come themselves and bring us out."
Dar Pavel le-a spus: Ne-au bătut în public, necondamnați, romani fiind, și ne-au aruncat în închisoare; și acum ne scot pe ascuns? Nici vorbă; ci să vină ei înșiși pentru a ne conduce afară.
38 The sergeants reported these words to the magistrates, and they were afraid when they heard that they were Romans,
Și lictorii au spus aceste vorbe magistraților; și s-au temut când au auzit că sunt romani.
39 and they came and apologized to them. When they had brought them out, they asked them to depart from the city.
Și au venit și îi implorau; și i-au condus afară și îi rugau să plece din cetate.
40 They went out of the prison, and entered into Lydia's house. When they had seen the brothers, they encouraged them, and departed.
Și au ieșit din închisoare și au intrat la Lidia; și după ce i-au văzut pe frați, i-au mângâiat și au plecat.
