< 1 Corinthians 12 >
1 Now concerning spiritual things, brothers, I do not want you to be ignorant.
Now, concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.
2 You know that when you were unbelievers, you were led away to those mute idols, however you might be led.
You know that you were Gentiles, led away to dumb idols, even as you happened to be led.
3 Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by God's Ruach says, "Yeshua is accursed." No one can say, "Yeshua is Lord," but by the Ruach ha-Kodesh.
Wherefore, I inform you, that no one, speaking by the Spirit of God, pronounces Jesus accursed; and, that no one can declare Jesus Lord, except by the Holy Spirit.
4 Now there are various kinds of gifts, but the same Ruach.
Now, there are diversities of gifts, but the same spirit.
5 There are various kinds of service, and the same Lord.
And there are diversities of ministries, but the same Lord.
6 There are various kinds of workings, but the same God, who works all things in all.
And there are diversities of operations, but the same God, who works all in all.
7 But to each one is given the manifestation of the Ruach for the profit of all.
And to each is given this manifestation of the Spirit, for the advantage of all.
8 For to one is given through the Ruach the word of wisdom, and to another the word of knowledge, according to the same Ruach;
For to one, indeed, is given, by the Spirit, the word of wisdom: and to another, the word of knowledge, according to the same Spirit.
9 to another faith, by the same Ruach; and to another gifts of healings, by the one Ruach;
And to another, faith, by the same Spirit: and to another, healing, by the same Spirit:
10 and to another workings of miracles; and to another prophecy; and to another discernings of spirits; to another different kinds of tongues; and to another the interpretation of tongues.
and to another, the operations of powers: and to another, prophecy: and to another, diverse kinds of foreign tongues: and to another, the interpretation of foreign tongues.
11 But the one and the same Ruach works all of these, distributing to each one separately as he desires.
Now, all these does the one and the same Spirit effectively work; distributing to each, respectively, as he pleases.
12 For as the body is one, and has many members, and all the members of the body, being many, are one body; so also is Messiah.
For, as the body is one, although it have many members; and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ.
13 For in one Ruach we were all immersed into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether bond or free; and were all given to drink of one Ruach.
For, indeed, by one Spirit, we all have been immersed into one body; whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or freemen; and all have been made to drink of one Spirit.
14 For the body is not one member, but many.
Since, then, the body is not one member, but many;
15 If the foot would say, "Because I'm not a hand, I'm not part of the body," that would not make it less a part of the body.
if the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it, for this, not of the body?
16 And if the ear would say, "Because I'm not the eye, I'm not part of the body," that would not make it less a part of the body.
And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it, for this, not of the body?
17 If the whole body were an eye, where would the hearing be? If the whole were an ear, where would the sense of smell be?
If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling?
18 But as a matter of fact, God has arranged the members of the body, each one of them, according to his design.
But, now, God has placed the members, every one of them, in the body, as he has pleased.
19 If they were all the same member, where would the body be?
Besides, if all were one member, where were the body?
20 So now there are many members, but one body.
But now, indeed, there are many members, but one body.
21 The eye cannot say to the hand, "I have no need for you," or again the head to the feet, "I have no need for you."
Therefore, the eye can not say to the hand, I have no need of you: nor, again, the head to the feet, I have no need of you.
22 On the contrary, those members which seem to be weaker are essential,
Nay, those members of the body which seem to be more feeble, are necessary.
23 and the parts which we think less honorable we treat with greater honor, and our unpresentable parts are treated with dignity,
And those which we think are less honorable members of the body, around them we throw more abundant honor; and so our uncomely members have more abundant comeliness.
24 whereas our presentable parts have no such need. But God has put the body together, giving greater honor to the lesser member,
But, our comely members have no need. However, God has tempered the body together; having given to the member which wants it, more abundant honor.
25 that there may be no division in the body, but that the members should have the same concern for one another.
That there may be no schism in the body; but, that the members may have the very same anxious care, one for another.
26 When one member suffers, all the members suffer with it. If a member is honored, all rejoice with it.
So, whether one member suffer, all the members sympathize; or, one member be honored, all the members rejoice together.
27 Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually.
Now, you are Christ's body, and members in particular.
28 God has set some in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracle workers, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, and various kinds of tongues.
And these, indeed, God has placed in the congregation: first, Apostles; secondly, prophets; thirdly, teachers; next, powers; then, gifts of healing; helpers, directors, kinds of foreign languages.
29 Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all miracle workers?
Are all Apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? have all powers?
30 Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret?
have all the gift of healing? do all speak in foreign languages? do all interpret?
31 But earnestly desire the greater gifts. Moreover, I show a most excellent way to you.
Now, ardently desire the best gifts; and yet I show you a more excellent way.
