< 1 Corinthians 10 >
1 Now I would not have you ignorant, brothers, that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;
Nɔvi lɔlɔ̃tɔwo, migaŋlɔ nu siwo dzɔ ɖe mía tɔgbuitɔgbuiwo dzi le gbedadaƒo le blema la be o. Mawu na lilikpo nɔ ŋgɔ na wo, eye wòkplɔ wo va to Ƒu Dzĩ la me dedie.
2 and were all immersed into Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
Nuwɔna sia zu mawutsideta na wo kple Mose ɖe Ƒu la me.
3 and all ate the same spiritual food;
Wo katã woɖu gbɔgbɔmenuɖuɖu ma ke,
4 and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of a spiritual rock that followed them, and the rock was Messiah.
eye wono gbɔgbɔmenunono ma ke, elabena wonoe tso gbɔgbɔmekpe gbadza si zɔ kpli wo le gbea dzi, eye kpe gbadza siae nye Kristo.
5 However with most of them, God was not well pleased, for they were overthrown in the wilderness.
6 Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.
Ele be míasrɔ̃ nu tso esia me be míawo hã míagatsi nu vɔ̃ɖiwo yome abe mía tɔgbuiwo ene eye míagasubɔ legbawo abe ale si wowɔ ene o.
7 Neither be idolaters, as some of them were. As it is written, "The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play."
Migazu trɔ̃subɔlawo hã abe wo dometɔ aɖewo ene o, abe ale si woŋlɔe ɖe Ŋɔŋlɔ Kɔkɔe la me be, “Wonɔ anyi ɖu nu eye wono nu nyuie eye wotsi tsitre, emegbe la, woɖu ɣe.”
8 Neither let us commit sexual immorality, as some of them committed, and in one day twenty-three thousand fell.
Nu bubu si wòle be míagasrɔ̃ tso nu siwo dzɔ ɖe wo dzi me lae nye be esi wo dometɔ aɖewo wɔ ahasi ta la, ame akpe blaeve-vɔ-etɔ̃ sɔŋ ku le wo dome le ŋkeke ɖeka ko dzi.
9 Neither let us test the Messiah, as some of them tested, and perished by the serpents.
Nɔviwo, miawo hã migaɖia Kristo nu abe ale si wowɔ eye da ɖu wo dometɔ geɖewo woku ene o.
10 Neither grumble, as some of them also grumbled, and perished by the destroyer.
Le esi wolĩ liʋĩliʋĩ ɖe Mawu ŋu ta la, Mawu ɖo mawudɔla aɖe ɖa wòva tsrɔ̃ wo dometɔ geɖewo hã.
11 Now these things happened to them by way of example, and they were written for our admonition, on whom the ends of the ages have come. (aiōn )
Nu siawo katã dzɔ ɖe wo dzi be wòanye kpɔɖeŋu kple nusɔsrɔ̃ na mí, ale be míawo hã míagawɔ nu siawo ƒomevi o. Woŋlɔ wo da ɖi na mí be míaxlẽ, ale be míasrɔ̃ nu tso eme le ɣeyiɣi siawo me esi xexea me ƒe nuwuwu tu aƒe. (aiōn )
12 Therefore let him who thinks he stands be careful that he does not fall.
Eya ta ame siwo buna be nu siawo mate ŋu adzɔ ɖe yewo dzi o la nakpɔ nyuie be womagadze tetekpɔ me o.
13 No temptation has taken you except what is common to humanity. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
Miɖo ŋku edzi be susu vɔ̃ɖi siwo vaa miaƒe ta me edziedzi la, vaa ame sia ame ƒe ta me nenema ke, menye miawoe nye ame gbãtɔ siwo le nu siawo me tom o. Minya be ame geɖewo to eme va yi. Minyae hã be tetekpɔ aɖeke mesesẽ wu amegbetɔ ƒe tsɔtsɔ o. Miate ŋu aɖo ŋu ɖe Mawu ŋu be ana ŋusẽ mi be miaɖu tetekpɔ dzi, elabena eya ŋutɔ do ŋugbe na mi, eye Mawu ya megbea eƒe ŋugbedodowo dzi wɔwɔ gbeɖe o. Afia afɔɖoƒe mi be miate ŋu ato ɖe sia ɖe me le dzigbɔɖi blibo me.
14 Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry.
Eya ta nɔvi lɔlɔ̃tɔwo, mite ɖa le trɔ̃subɔsubɔ gbɔ.
15 I speak as to wise people. Judge what I say.
Menya be nunyalawo mienye eya ta mibu nya si gblɔ ge mala na mi ŋuti kpɔ.
16 The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not a sharing of the blood of Messiah? The bread which we break, is it not a sharing of the body of Messiah?
Ne míele Aƒetɔ la ƒe Nuɖuɖu Kɔkɔe ɖum la, mí katã míedoa gbe ɖa eye míenoa nu le kplu ɖeka nu. Ɖe esia mefia be mí katã míele yayra ɖeka xɔm tso Kristo ƒe ʋu me oa? Azɔ ne míeka abolo ɖeka me heɖu la, esia hã fia be mí katã míekpɔ viɖe tɔxɛ tso Kristo ƒe ŋutilã me oa?
17 Because there is one loaf of bread, we, who are many, are one body; for we all partake of the one loaf of bread.
18 Consider Israel according to the flesh. Do not those who eat the sacrifices participate in the altar?
Nenema ke le Israelviwo dome hã la, ame siwo katã ɖua vɔsalẽvi la ƒe ɖe la zua ame ɖeka.
19 What am I saying then? That a thing sacrificed to idols is anything, or that an idol is anything?
Ame aɖe abia be, ɖe mele gbɔgblɔm be legba siwo trɔ̃subɔlawo saa vɔ na la nye Mawu gbagbewo, eye woƒe vɔsawo hã nye nu xɔasiwo mahã? Gbeɖe! Mele nenema kura o.
20 But I say that the things which pagans sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons, and not to God, and I do not desire that you would have fellowship with demons.
Nu si gblɔm mele boŋ lae nye be ame siwo ɖa nu na legbawo la wɔ ɖeka le gbɔgbɔ vɔ̃wo subɔm, menye Mawu subɔm wole kura o. Azɔ nyemedi be miade ha kple gbɔgbɔ vɔ̃wo to trɔ̃subɔlawo ƒe vɔsanu siawo ɖuɖu me o.
21 You cannot both drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You cannot both partake of the table of the Lord, and of the table of demons.
Miate ŋu ano nu le Aƒetɔ la ƒe kplɔ̃ ŋu vɔ agatrɔ aɖanoe le gbɔgbɔ vɔ̃ hã ƒe kplɔ̃ ŋu o; nenema ke miate ŋu aɖu abolo le Aƒetɔ la ƒe kplɔ̃ ŋu vɔ agaɖui le Abosam hã gbɔ o.
22 Or do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than he?
Nu ka? Ɖe miedi be yewoado dɔmedzoe na Aƒetɔa? Ɖe miebu be miesesẽ wuia?
23 "All things are lawful," but not all things are profitable. "All things are lawful," but not all things build up.
Ne ame aɖe di be yeaɖu trɔ̃wo ƒe vɔsanuɖuɖu la, ate ŋu aɖui faa, meda Mawu ƒe se aɖeke dzi o, gake menye eya ta ame naɖu nu sia o. Togbɔ be se aɖeke mexe mɔ nɛ o hã la, ɖewohĩ nuwɔna sia medze tututu be wòawɔ o.
24 Let no one seek his own, but his neighbor's good.
Miganye ɖokuitɔdilawo o, ke boŋ mibu mia nɔewo ŋu le miaƒe wɔnawo me.
25 Whatever is sold in the butcher shop, eat, asking no question for the sake of conscience,
Azɔ ne mieyi asi me la, miƒle lã ɖe sia ɖe si dzram wole, eye migabia be afi ka lãa tso hã o. Ne menye nenema o la, ɖewohĩ ŋuɖoɖo la aɖe fu na miaƒe dzitsinya.
26 for "the earth is the Lord's, and its fullness."
Minyae be xexea me katã kple emenu nyuiwo katã nye Aƒetɔ la tɔ eye wòtsɔ wo na mi be miawɔ wo ŋu dɔ le dzidzɔ me.
27 But if one of those who do not believe invites you to a meal, and you are inclined to go, eat whatever is set before you, asking no questions for the sake of conscience.
Ne dzimaxɔsetɔ kpe mi kristotɔwo be miva ɖu nu kple ye eye wòdzro mi be miayi la, miate ŋu ayi faa. Nuɖuɖu ɖe sia ɖe si wòtsɔ ɖo mia kɔme la, miɖui eye migabia be, nu ka woɖa hã o. Mizi kpi eye miaɖu nua ekema trɔ̃wo ƒe vɔsanuɖuɖunya mava eme si aɖe fu na miaƒe dzitsinya o.
28 But if anyone says to you, "This was offered to idols," do not eat it for the sake of the one who told you, and for the sake of conscience.
Gake ne miebe yewoaɖu nua ko, ame aɖe gblɔ be wotsɔ nuɖuɖu la sa vɔ na trɔ̃wo gbã hafi tsɔ na mi la, ekema migaɖui o, ɖe nu si ame si gblɔ nya sia na mi la abu tso nu si mieɖu la ŋuti ta.
29 Conscience, I say, not your own, but the other's conscience. For why is my liberty judged by another conscience?
Le nya sia me la, edze be miabu nu si ame sia gblɔ tso nuɖuɖu la ŋuti ŋu vevie. Eye miabia be, nu ka ta wòle be ame bubu ƒe dzitsinya nawɔ mi kluviwoe le nu si mienya be enyo la ŋuti?
30 If I partake with thankfulness, why am I denounced for that for which I give thanks?
Ne màte ŋu ada akpe na Mawu ɖe nuɖuɖu la ta ko aɖui la, nu ka ta wòle be mana ame bubu nagblẽ nu siawo katã me, elabena eya bu be meda vo?
31 Whether therefore you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
Nu si ta megblɔ esia ɖo lae nye be ele be miawɔ nu sia nu na Mawu ƒe kafukafu, le miaƒe nuɖuɖu kple nunono gɔ̃ hã me.
32 Give no occasions for stumbling, either to Jews, or to Greeks, or to the congregation of God;
Eya ta miganye mɔxenu na ame aɖeke o, eɖanye Yudatɔwo, Grikitɔwo alo Mawu ƒe hame la o.
33 even as I also please all people in all things, not seeking my own profit, but the profit of the many, that they may be saved.
Nu si nye ya mewɔna lae nye be medzea agbagba be madze ame sia ame ŋu le nu sia nu me. Menye be malé nu si doa dzidzɔ na nye ŋutɔ ɖeɖe ko me ɖe asi o. Ke boŋ mewɔa nu si nyo na ame bubuwo hã be mate ŋu aɖe wo.
