< Psalms 60 >

1 [For the Chief Musician. To the tune of "The Lily of the Covenant." A teaching poem by David, when he fought with Aram Naharaim and with Aram Zobah, and Joab returned, and killed twelve thousand of Edom in the Valley of Salt.] God, you have rejected us. You have broken us down. You have been angry. Restore us, again.
E KE Akua, ua haalele mai oe ia makou; Ua hooanhee liilii oe ia makou; Ua huhu ae nei oe; e maliu hou mai ia makou.
2 You have made the land tremble. You have torn it. Mend its fractures, for it quakes.
Ua hoonauweuwe mai oe i ka honua, a wawahi hoi ia; E hoola i kona nahaha ana, no ka mea, ke nauweuwe nei no ia.
3 You have shown your people hard things. You have made us drink the wine that makes us stagger.
Ua hoike mai oe i kou poe kanaka i na mea paakiki; Ua hoohainu mai oe ia makou i ka waina o ka haalulu.
4 You have given a banner to those who fear you, that it may be displayed because of the truth. (Selah)
Ua haawi mai oe i ka hae i ka poe weliweli ia oe, I hookiekieia'e no ia no ka oiaio. (Sila)
5 So that your beloved may be delivered, save with your right hand and answer me.
I hoopakeleia kou mea aloha; E hoola mai me kou lima akau, a e hooloho mai ia'u.
6 God has spoken from his sanctuary: "I will triumph. I will divide Shechem, and measure out the Valley of Succoth.
Olelo iho la ke Akua ma kona hoano; E hauoli au, e puunane au ia Sekema; A o ke awawa o Sukota ka'u e ana aku ai.
7 Gilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine. Ephraim also is the defense of my head. Judah is my scepter.
No'u no Gileada; no'u no hoi o Manase; O Eperaima ka ikaika o kuu poo; O Iuda ko'u hoailona moi;
8 Moab is my wash basin. I will throw my shoe on Edom. I shout in triumph over Philistia."
O Moaba ko'u ipu holoi; Maluna o Edoma e hoohemo aku ai au i kuu kamaa: E hauoli oe, e Pilisetia maluna o'u.
9 Who will bring me into the strong city? Who will lead me to Edom?
Owai la ka mea nana wau e lawe i ke kulanakauhale pakaua? Owai la ka mea nana wau e alakai i Edoma?
10 Haven't you, God, rejected us? You do not go out with our armies, God.
Aole anei o oe, ke Akua, ka mea i haalele mai ia makou? A o oe, e ke Akua, ka i hele pu ole me ko makou poe kaua?
11 Give us help against the adversary, for the help of man is vain.
E kokua mai oe ia makou i ka popilikia; No ka mea, he lapuwale ke kokua ana o ke kanaka.
12 Through God we shall do valiantly, for it is he who will tread down our adversaries.
Iloko o ke Akua e koa aku ai kakou; Oia ke hehi iho i ko kakou poe enemi.
