Psalms 116

1 I love the LORD, because he listens to my voice, and my cries for mercy.

Aku mencintai TUHAN, sebab Ia mendengarkan aku dan memperhatikan permohonanku.

2 Because he has turned his ear to me, therefore I will call on him as long as I live.

Ia mendengarkan aku, setiap kali aku berseru kepada-Nya.

3 The cords of death surrounded me, the pains of Sheol got a hold of me. I found trouble and sorrow. (Sheol h7585)

Aku diancam bahaya maut; kengerian maut menyergap aku, membuat aku gelisah dan takut. (Sheol h7585)

4 Then I called on the name of the LORD: "LORD, I beg you, deliver my soul."

Maka aku berseru kepada TUHAN, "Ya TUHAN, aku mohon, selamatkanlah aku!"

5 The LORD is Gracious and righteous. Yes, our God is merciful.

TUHAN itu pengasih dan adil; Allah kita penuh belas kasihan.

6 The LORD preserves the simple. I was brought low, and he saved me.

TUHAN memelihara orang-orang sederhana; waktu aku tak berdaya diselamatkan-Nya aku.

7 Return to your rest, my soul, for the LORD has dealt bountifully with you.

Kutenangkan hatiku, sebab TUHAN baik kepadaku.

8 For you have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.

TUHAN telah meluputkan aku dari kematian; dihibur-Nya aku dan tidak dibiarkan-Nya terjatuh.

9 I will walk before the LORD in the land of the living.

Maka aku boleh menikmati hidup di dunia ini, di dalam perlindungan TUHAN.

10 I believed, therefore I said, "I am greatly afflicted."

Aku tetap percaya, sekalipun aku berkata, "Aku sangat tertekan."

11 I said in my haste, "All men are liars."

Dalam kebingunganku aku berkata, "Tak seorang pun dapat dipercaya."

12 What will I give to the LORD for all his benefits toward me?

Apa yang akan kuberikan kepada TUHAN untuk membalas kebaikan-Nya bagiku?

13 I will take the cup of salvation, and call on the name of the LORD.

Aku akan membawa persembahan anggur bagi TUHAN untuk bersyukur atas pertolongan-Nya.

14 I will pay my vows to the LORD, yes, in the presence of all his people.

Aku akan memenuhi janjiku kepada-Nya di depan seluruh umat-Nya.

15 Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his faithful ones.

TUHAN sangat menyayangkan kematian seorang yang dikasihi-Nya.

16 LORD, truly I am your servant. I am your servant, the son of your handmaid. You have freed me from my chains.

Aku ini hamba-Mu, ya TUHAN, seperti ibuku, aku pun berbakti kepada-Mu Engkau telah melepaskan aku dari tahanan.

17 I will offer to you the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call on the name of the LORD.

Aku akan membawa kurban syukur kepada-Mu, sambil mengunjukkan doa kepada-Mu.

18 I will pay my vows to the LORD, yes, in the presence of all his people,

Aku akan memenuhi janjiku kepada TUHAN, di depan seluruh umat-Nya

19 in the courts of the LORD's house, in the midst of you, Jerusalem. Praise the LORD.

yang berhimpun di pelataran Rumah TUHAN, di tengah kota Yerusalem. Pujilah TUHAN!
