Mark 5
1 And they came to the other side of the sea, into the territory of the Gerasenes.
| ܘܐܬܐ ܠܥܒܪܐ ܕܝܡܐ ܠܐܬܪܐ ܕܓܕܪܝܐ |
2 And when he had come out of the boat, immediately a man with an unclean spirit met him out of the tombs.
| ܘܟܕ ܢܦܩ ܡܢ ܤܦܝܢܬܐ ܦܓܥ ܒܗ ܡܢ ܒܝܬ ܩܒܘܪܐ ܓܒܪܐ ܕܐܝܬ ܒܗ ܪܘܚܐ ܛܢܦܬܐ |
3 He lived in the tombs, and no one could bind him any more, not even with a chain.
| ܘܥܡܪ ܗܘܐ ܒܝܬ ܩܒܘܪܐ ܘܒܫܫܠܬܐ ܐܢܫ ܠܐ ܡܫܟܚ ܗܘܐ ܠܡܐܤܪܗ |
4 For he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been torn apart by him, and the fetters broken in pieces. No one had the strength to tame him.
| ܡܛܠ ܕܟܠ ܐܡܬܝ ܕܒܤܘܛܡܐ ܘܒܫܫܠܬܐ ܡܬܐܤܪ ܗܘܐ ܫܫܠܬܐ ܡܬܒܪ ܗܘܐ ܘܤܘܛܡܐ ܡܦܤܩ ܗܘܐ ܘܠܐ ܐܢܫ ܡܫܟܚ ܗܘܐ ܠܡܟܒܫܗ |
5 And always, night and day, in the tombs and in the mountains, he was crying out, and cutting himself with stones.
| ܘܒܟܠ ܙܒܢ ܒܠܠܝܐ ܘܒܐܝܡܡܐ ܒܒܝܬ ܩܒܘܪܐ ܘܒܛܘܪܐ ܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܗܘܐ ܘܩܥܐ ܗܘܐ ܘܡܨܠܦ ܢܦܫܗ ܒܟܐܦܐ |
6 And when he saw Jesus from afar, he ran and bowed down to him,
| ܟܕ ܚܙܐ ܕܝܢ ܠܝܫܘܥ ܡܢ ܪܘܚܩܐ ܪܗܛ ܤܓܕ ܠܗ |
7 and crying out with a loud voice, he said, "What have I to do with you, Jesus, you Son of the Most High God? I adjure you by God, do not torment me."
| ܘܩܥܐ ܒܩܠܐ ܪܡܐ ܘܐܡܪ ܡܐ ܠܝ ܘܠܟ ܝܫܘܥ ܒܪܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܡܪܝܡܐ ܡܘܡܐ ܐܢܐ ܠܟ ܒܐܠܗܐ ܕܠܐ ܬܫܢܩܢܝ |
8 For he had been saying to him, "Come out of the man, you unclean spirit."
| ܐܡܪ ܗܘܐ ܠܗ ܓܝܪ ܦܘܩ ܡܢ ܒܪܢܫܐ ܪܘܚܐ ܛܢܦܐ |
9 And then he asked him, "What is your name?" And he replied, "My name is Legion, for we are many."
| ܘܫܐܠܗ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܫܡܟ ܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܠܓܝܘܢ ܫܡܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܤܓܝܐܐ ܚܢܢ |
10 And he pleaded with Jesus repeatedly not to send them away out of the region.
| ܘܒܥܐ ܗܘܐ ܡܢܗ ܤܓܝ ܕܠܐ ܢܫܕܪܝܘܗܝ ܠܒܪ ܡܢ ܐܬܪܐ |
11 Now on the mountainside there was a great herd of pigs feeding.
| ܐܝܬ ܗܘܐ ܕܝܢ ܬܡܢ ܠܘܬ ܛܘܪܐ ܒܩܪܐ ܪܒܬܐ ܕܚܙܝܪܐ ܕܪܥܝܐ |
12 And they begged him, saying, "Send us into the pigs, that we may enter into them."
| ܘܒܥܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܡܢܗ ܗܢܘܢ ܫܐܕܐ ܘܐܡܪܝܢ ܫܕܪܝܢ ܥܠ ܗܢܘܢ ܚܙܝܪܐ ܕܒܗܘܢ ܢܥܘܠ |
13 And he gave them permission. The unclean spirits came out and entered into the pigs; and the herd of about two thousand rushed down the steep bank into the sea, and they were drowned in the sea.
| ܘܐܦܤ ܠܗܘܢ ܘܢܦܩ ܪܘܚܐ ܗܠܝܢ ܛܢܦܬܐ ܘܥܠ ܒܚܙܝܪܐ ܘܪܗܛܬ ܗܝ ܒܩܪܐ ܠܫܩܝܦܐ ܘܢܦܠܬ ܒܝܡܐ ܐܝܟ ܬܪܝܢ ܐܠܦܝܢ ܘܐܬܚܢܩܘ ܒܡܝܐ |
14 And those who fed them fled, and told it in the city and in the country. And the people went to see what it was that had happened.
| ܘܗܢܘܢ ܕܪܥܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܠܗܘܢ ܥܪܩܘ ܘܐܡܪܘ ܒܡܕܝܢܬܐ ܘܐܦ ܒܩܘܪܝܐ ܘܢܦܩܘ ܠܡܚܙܐ ܡܕܡ ܕܗܘܐ |
15 And they came to Jesus, and saw him who had been possessed by demons sitting, clothed and in his right mind, even him who had the legion; and they were afraid.
| ܘܐܬܘ ܠܘܬ ܝܫܘܥ ܘܚܙܐܘܗܝ ܠܗܘ ܕܫܐܕܘܗܝ ܟܕ ܠܒܝܫ ܘܡܢܟܦ ܘܝܬܒ ܗܘ ܕܐܝܬ ܗܘܐ ܒܗ ܠܓܝܘܢ ܘܕܚܠܘ |
16 And those who saw it declared to them how it happened to him who was possessed by demons, and about the pigs.
| ܘܐܫܬܥܝܘ ܠܗܘܢ ܗܢܘܢ ܕܚܙܘ ܕܐܝܟܢܐ ܗܘܐ ܠܗܘ ܕܫܐܕܘܗܝ ܘܐܦ ܥܠ ܗܢܘܢ ܚܙܝܪܐ |
17 And then they began to plead with Jesus to leave their region.
| ܘܫܪܝܘ ܒܥܝܢ ܡܢܗ ܕܢܐܙܠ ܠܗ ܡܢ ܬܚܘܡܗܘܢ |
18 As he was entering into the boat, he who had been possessed by demons pleaded with him that he might be with him.
| ܘܟܕ ܤܠܩ ܠܤܦܝܢܬܐ ܒܥܐ ܗܘܐ ܡܢܗ ܗܘ ܕܫܐܕܘܗܝ ܕܥܡܗ ܢܗܘܐ |
19 However, Jesus did not allow him, but said to him, "Go to your house, to your own, and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how he had mercy on you."
| ܘܠܐ ܫܒܩܗ ܐܠܐ ܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܙܠ ܠܒܝܬܟ ܠܘܬ ܐܢܫܝܟ ܘܐܫܬܥܐ ܠܗܘܢ ܡܕܡ ܕܥܒܕ ܠܟ ܡܪܝܐ ܘܕܐܬܪܚܡ ܥܠܝܟ |
20 So he went his way, and began to proclaim in Decapolis how Jesus had done great things for him, and everyone was amazed.
| ܘܐܙܠ ܘܫܪܝ ܡܟܪܙ ܒܥܤܪܬ ܡܕܝܢܬܐ ܡܕܡ ܕܥܒܕ ܠܗ ܝܫܘܥ ܘܟܠܗܘܢ ܬܡܝܗܝܢ ܗܘܘ |
21 And when Jesus had crossed back over in the boat to the other side, a large crowd was gathered to him; and he was by the sea.
| ܘܟܕ ܥܒܪ ܝܫܘܥ ܒܤܦܝܢܬܐ ܠܗܘ ܥܒܪܐ ܬܘܒ ܐܬܟܢܫܘ ܥܠܘܗܝ ܟܢܫܐ ܤܓܝܐܐ ܟܕ ܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܥܠ ܝܕ ܝܡܐ |
22 One of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name, came; and seeing him, he fell at his feet,
| ܘܐܬܐ ܚܕ ܕܫܡܗ ܝܘܐܪܫ ܡܢ ܪܒܝ ܟܢܘܫܬܐ ܘܟܕ ܚܙܝܗܝ ܢܦܠ ܠܘܬ ܪܓܠܘܗܝ |
23 and pleaded with him repeatedly, saying, "My little daughter is at the point of death. Please come and lay your hands on her, that she may be made healthy, and live."
| ܘܒܥܐ ܗܘܐ ܡܢܗ ܤܓܝ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܒܪܬܝ ܒܝܫܐܝܬ ܥܒܝܕܐ ܬܐ ܤܝܡ ܐܝܕܟ ܥܠܝܗ ܘܬܬܚܠܡ ܘܬܚܐ |
24 And he went with him, and a large crowd followed him, and they pressed upon him on all sides.
| ܘܐܙܠ ܥܡܗ ܝܫܘܥ ܘܕܒܝܩ ܗܘܐ ܠܗ ܟܢܫܐ ܤܓܝܐܐ ܘܚܒܨܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܠܗ |
25 Now a woman, who had an issue of blood for twelve years,
| ܐܢܬܬܐ ܕܝܢ ܚܕܐ ܕܐܝܬܝܗ ܗܘܬ ܒܡܪܕܝܬܐ ܕܕܡܐ ܫܢܝܢ ܬܪܬܥܤܪܐ |
26 and had suffered many things by many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was no better, but rather grew worse,
| ܐܝܕܐ ܕܤܓܝ ܤܒܠܬ ܡܢ ܐܤܘܬܐ ܤܓܝܐܐ ܘܐܦܩܬ ܟܠ ܡܕܡ ܕܐܝܬ ܠܗ ܘܡܕܡ ܠܐ ܐܬܥܕܪܬ ܐܠܐ ܐܦ ܝܬܝܪܐܝܬ ܐܬܐܠܨܬ |
27 having heard the things concerning Jesus, came up behind him in the crowd, and touched his clothes.
| ܟܕ ܫܡܥܬ ܥܠ ܝܫܘܥ ܐܬܬ ܒܚܒܨܐ ܕܟܢܫܐ ܡܢ ܒܤܬܪܗ ܩܪܒܬ ܠܠܒܘܫܗ |
28 For she said, "If I just touch his clothes, I will be made well."
| ܐܡܪܐ ܗܘܬ ܓܝܪ ܕܐܦܢ ܠܠܒܘܫܗ ܩܪܒܐ ܐܢܐ ܚܝܐ ܐܢܐ |
29 And immediately the flow of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of her affliction.
| ܘܡܚܕܐ ܝܒܫܬ ܡܥܝܢܐ ܕܕܡܗ ܘܐܪܓܫܬ ܒܦܓܪܗ ܕܐܬܐܤܝܬ ܡܢ ܡܚܘܬܗ |
30 And immediately Jesus, perceiving in himself that the power had gone out from him, turned around in the crowd, and asked, "Who touched my clothes?"
| ܝܫܘܥ ܕܝܢ ܡܚܕܐ ܝܕܥ ܒܢܦܫܗ ܕܚܝܠܐ ܢܦܩ ܡܢܗ ܘܐܬܦܢܝ ܠܘܬ ܟܢܫܐ ܘܐܡܪ ܡܢܘ ܩܪܒ ܠܡܐܢܝ |
31 And his disciples said to him, "You see the crowd pressing against you, and you say, 'Who touched me?'"
| ܘܐܡܪܝܢ ܠܗ ܬܠܡܝܕܘܗܝ ܚܙܐ ܐܢܬ ܠܟܢܫܐ ܕܚܒܨܝܢ ܠܟ ܘܐܡܪ ܐܢܬ ܡܢܘ ܩܪܒ ܠܝ |
32 He looked around to see her who had done this thing.
| ܘܚܐܪ ܗܘܐ ܕܢܚܙܐ ܡܢܘ ܗܕܐ ܥܒܕ |
33 But the woman, fearing and trembling, knowing what had been done to her, came and fell down before him, and told him the whole truth.
| ܗܝ ܕܝܢ ܐܢܬܬܐ ܟܕ ܕܚܝܠܐ ܘܪܬܝܬܐ ܕܝܕܥܬ ܡܐ ܕܗܘܐ ܠܗ ܐܬܬ ܢܦܠܬ ܩܕܡܘܗܝ ܘܐܡܪܬ ܠܗ ܟܠܗ ܫܪܪܐ |
34 And he said to her, "Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be cured of your disease."
| ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܒܪܬܝ ܗܝܡܢܘܬܟܝ ܐܚܝܬܟܝ ܙܠܝ ܒܫܠܡܐ ܘܗܘܝܬܝ ܚܠܝܡܐ ܡܢ ܡܚܘܬܟܝ |
35 While he was still speaking, people came from the synagogue ruler's house saying, "Your daughter is dead. Why bother the Teacher any more?"
| ܘܥܕ ܗܘ ܡܡܠܠ ܐܬܘ ܡܢ ܕܒܝܬ ܪܒ ܟܢܘܫܬܐ ܘܐܡܪܝܢ ܕܒܪܬܟ ܡܝܬܬ ܠܡܢܐ ܡܟܝܠ ܡܥܡܠ ܐܢܬ ܠܡܠܦܢܐ |
36 But Jesus, overhearing the message spoken, said to the ruler of the synagogue, "Do not be afraid, only believe."
| ܝܫܘܥ ܕܝܢ ܫܡܥ ܠܡܠܬܐ ܕܐܡܪܘ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗܘ ܪܒ ܟܢܘܫܬܐ ܠܐ ܬܕܚܠ ܒܠܚܘܕ ܗܝܡܢ |
37 And he allowed no one to follow him, except Peter, James, and John the brother of James.
| ܘܠܐ ܫܒܩ ܠܐܢܫ ܕܢܐܙܠ ܥܡܗ ܐܠܐ ܠܫܡܥܘܢ ܟܐܦܐ ܘܠܝܥܩܘܒ ܘܠܝܘܚܢܢ ܐܚܘܗܝ ܕܝܥܩܘܒ |
38 And they came to the synagogue ruler's house, and he saw an uproar, weeping, and great wailing.
| ܘܐܬܘ ܠܒܝܬܐ ܕܗܘ ܪܒ ܟܢܘܫܬܐ ܘܚܙܐ ܕܪܗܝܒܝܢ ܘܒܟܝܢ ܘܡܝܠܠܝܢ |
39 And when he had entered in, he said to them, "Why do you make an uproar and weep? The child is not dead, but is asleep."
| ܘܥܠ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܡܢܐ ܪܗܝܒܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܘܒܟܝܢ ܛܠܝܬܐ ܠܐ ܡܝܬܬ ܐܠܐ ܕܡܟܐ ܗܝ |
40 And they ridiculed him. But he, having put them all out, took the father of the child, her mother, and those who were with him, and went in where the child was.
| ܘܓܚܟܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܥܠܘܗܝ ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܐܦܩ ܠܟܠܗܘܢ ܘܕܒܪ ܠܐܒܘܗ ܕܛܠܝܬܐ ܘܠܐܡܗ ܘܠܗܢܘܢ ܕܥܡܗ ܘܥܠ ܠܐܝܟܐ ܕܪܡܝܐ ܗܘܬ ܛܠܝܬܐ |
41 And taking the child by the hand, he said to her, "Talitha koum," which translated means, "Little girl, I tell you, get up."
| ܘܐܚܕ ܒܐܝܕܗ ܕܛܠܝܬܐ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܛܠܝܬܐ ܩܘܡܝ |
42 And immediately the girl rose up and walked, for she was twelve years old. And immediately they were overcome with amazement.
| ܘܒܪ ܫܥܬܗ ܩܡܬ ܛܠܝܬܐ ܘܡܗܠܟܐ ܗܘܬ ܐܝܬܝܗ ܗܘܬ ܓܝܪ ܒܪܬ ܫܢܝܢ ܬܪܬܥܤܪܐ ܘܡܬܕܡܪܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܕܘܡܪܐ ܪܒܐ |
43 And he strictly ordered them that no one should know this, and commanded that something should be given to her to eat.
| ܘܦܩܕ ܐܢܘܢ ܤܓܝ ܕܠܐ ܐܢܫ ܢܕܥ ܗܕܐ ܘܐܡܪ ܕܢܬܠܘܢ ܠܗ ܠܡܠܥܤ |
