Mark 12
1 He began to speak to them in parables. "A man planted a vineyard, put a hedge around it, dug a pit for the winepress, built a tower, rented it out to a farmer, and went on a journey.
Jésus se mit donc à leur parler en paraboles. « Un homme planta une vigne; il l’entoura d’une haie, y creusa un pressoir et y bâtit une tour; puis il la loua à des vignerons et partit pour un autre pays.
2 When it was time, he sent a servant to the farmer to get from the farmer his share of the fruit of the vineyard.
En temps convenable, il envoya un serviteur aux vignerons pour recevoir d’eux une part de la récolte.
3 They took him, beat him, and sent him away empty.
Mais s’étant saisis de lui, ils le battirent et le renvoyèrent les mains vides.
4 Again, he sent another servant to them; and they wounded him in the head, and treated him shamefully.
Il leur envoya encore un autre serviteur, et ils le blessèrent à la tête, et le chargèrent d’outrages.
5 And he sent another; and they killed him; and many others, beating some, and killing some.
Il en envoya un troisième, qu’ils tuèrent; beaucoup d’autres furent encore, les uns battus, les autres tués par eux.
6 He had one left, a beloved son, he sent him last to them, saying, 'They will respect my son.'
Il restait au maître un fils unique qui lui était très cher; il l’envoya aussi vers eux le dernier, se disant: Ils respecteront mon fils.
7 But those farmers said among themselves, 'This is the heir. Come, let us kill him, and the inheritance will be ours.'
Mais ces vignerons dirent entre eux: Celui-ci est l’héritier; venez, tuons-le, et l’héritage sera à nous.
8 They took him, killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard.
Et ils se saisirent de lui, le tuèrent et le jetèrent hors de la vigne.
9 What therefore will the lord of the vineyard do? He will come and destroy the farmers, and will give the vineyard to others.
Maintenant que fera le maître de la vigne? Il viendra, il exterminera les vignerons et donnera sa vigne à d’autres.
10 Haven't you even read this Scripture: 'The stone which the builders rejected, the same was made the head of the corner.
N’avez-vous pas lu cette parole de l’Écriture: La pierre qu’ont rejetée ceux qui bâtissaient, est devenue le sommet de l’angle:
11 This was from the Lord. It is marvelous in our eyes'?"
c’est le Seigneur qui a fait cela, et c’est une merveille à nos yeux? »
12 They tried to seize him, but they feared the crowd; for they perceived that he spoke the parable against them. They left him, and went away.
Et ils cherchaient à se saisir de lui, sachant qu’ils les avait en vue dans cette parabole; mais ils craignaient le peuple, et le laissant, ils s’en allèrent.
13 They sent some of the Pharisees and of the Herodians to him, that they might trap him with words.
Alors ils lui envoyèrent quelques-uns des Pharisiens et des Hérodiens pour le surprendre dans ses paroles.
14 When they had come, they asked him, "Teacher, we know that you are honest, and do not defer to anyone; for you are not partial to anyone, but truly teach the way of God. Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?
Ceux-ci étant venus, lui dirent: « Maître, nous savons que vous êtes véridique, et n’avez souci de personne; car vous ne considérez point l’extérieur des hommes, mais vous enseignez la voie de Dieu dans la vérité. Est-il permis, ou non, de payer le tribut à César? Devons-nous payer, ou non? »
15 Should we pay, or should we not pay?" But he, knowing their hypocrisy, said to them, "Why do you test me? Bring me a denarius, that I may see it."
Connaissant leur perfidie, il leur dit: « Pourquoi me tentez-vous? Apportez-moi un denier, que je le voie. »
16 They brought it. He said to them, "Whose is this image and inscription?" They said to him, "Caesar's."
Ils le lui apportèrent; et il leur dit: « De qui sont cette image et cette inscription? — De César », lui dirent-ils.
17 And Jesus said to them, "Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's." And they were utterly amazed at him.
Alors Jésus leur répondit: « Rendez donc à César ce qui est à César, et à Dieu ce qui est à Dieu. « Et ils les frappa d’étonnement.
18 There came to him Sadducees, who say that there is no resurrection. They asked him, saying,
Des Sadducéens, qui nient la résurrection, l’abordèrent ensuite et lui firent cette question:
19 "Teacher, Moses wrote to us, 'If a man's brother dies, and leaves a wife behind him, and leaves no children, that his brother should take the wife, and raise up offspring for his brother.'
« Maître, Moïse nous a prescrit que, si un frère meurt, laissant une femme sans enfants, son frère doit prendre sa femme, et susciter des enfants à son frère.
20 There were seven brothers. The first took a wife, and dying left no offspring.
Or, il y avait sept frères; le premier prit une femme, et mourut sans laisser d’enfants.
21 The second took her, and died, leaving no children behind him. The third likewise;
Le second la prit ensuite, et mourut aussi sans laisser d’enfants. Il en arriva de même au troisième,
22 and the seven left no children. Last of all the woman also died.
et chacun des sept la prit, et ne laissa pas d’enfants. Après eux tous, mourut aussi la femme.
23 In the resurrection, when they rise, whose wife will she be of them? For the seven had her as a wife."
Eh bien, dans la résurrection, lorsqu’ils seront ressuscités, duquel d’entre eux sera-t-elle la femme? car les sept l’ont eue pour femme. »
24 Jesus said to them, "Is not this because you are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures, nor the power of God?
Jésus leur répondit: « N’êtes-vous pas dans l’erreur, parce que vous ne comprenez ni les Écritures, ni la puissance de Dieu?
25 For when they will rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven.
Car, une fois ressuscités des morts, les hommes ne prennent point de femmes, ni les femmes de maris; mais ils sont comme les anges dans le ciel.
26 But about the dead, that they are raised; have you not read in the book of Moses, about the bush, how God spoke to him, saying, 'I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob'?
Et touchant la résurrection des morts, n’avez-vous pas lu dans le livre de Moïse, au passage du Buisson, ce que Dieu lui dit: Je suis le Dieu d’Abraham, le Dieu d’Isaac, et le Dieu de Jacob?
27 He is not the God of the dead, but of the living. You are therefore badly mistaken."
Il n’est pas le Dieu des morts, mais des vivants. Vous êtes donc grandement dans l’erreur. »
28 And one of the scribes came, and heard them questioning together. Seeing that he had answered them well, asked him, "Which commandment is the greatest of all?"
Un des Scribes, qui avait entendu cette discussion, voyant que Jésus leur avait bien répondu, s’approcha et lui demanda: « Quel est le premier de tous les commandements? »
29 Jesus answered, "The first is, 'Hear, Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one.
Jésus lui répondit: « Le premier de tous est celui-ci: Écoute Israël: le Seigneur notre Dieu, est seul le Seigneur.
30 And you are to love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.'
Tu aimeras donc le Seigneur ton Dieu, de tout ton cœur, de toute ton âme, de tout ton esprit, et de toute ta force. C’est là le premier commandement.
31 The second is this, 'You are to love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these."
Le second lui est semblable: Tu aimeras ton prochain comme toi-même. Il n’y a pas d’autre commandement plus grand que ceux-là. »
32 The scribe said to him, "Truly, Teacher, you have said well that he is one, and there is none other but he,
Le Scribe lui dit: « Bien, Maître, vous avez dit selon la vérité que Dieu est unique, et qu’il n’y en a point d’autre que lui;
33 and to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbor as himself, is more important than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices."
et que l’aimer de tout son cœur, de tout son esprit, de toute son âme et de toute sa force, et aimer son prochain comme soi-même, c’est plus que tous les holocaustes et tous les sacrifices. »
34 When Jesus saw that he answered wisely, he said to him, "You are not far from the Kingdom of God." No one dared ask him any question after that.
Jésus, voyant qu’il avait répondu avec sagesse, lui dit: « Tu n’es pas loin du royaume de Dieu. » Et personne n’osait plus lui poser de questions.
35 Jesus responded, as he taught in the temple, "How can the scribes say that the Messiah is the son of David?
Jésus, continuant à enseigner dans le temple, dit: « Comment les Scribes disent-ils que le Christ est fils de David?
36 David himself said in the Holy Spirit, 'The Lord said to my Lord, "Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies the footstool of your feet."'
Car David lui-même parle ainsi par l’Esprit-Saint: Le Seigneur a dit à mon Seigneur: Asseyez-vous à ma droite jusqu’à ce que je fasse de vos ennemis l’escabeau de vos pieds. —
37 David himself calls him Lord, so how can he be his son?" The common people heard him gladly.
David lui-même l’appelle Seigneur, comment donc est-il son fils? « Et la foule nombreuse prenait plaisir à l’entendre.
38 In his teaching he said to them, "Beware of the scribes, who like to walk in long robes, and to get greetings in the marketplaces,
Il leur disait encore dans son enseignement: « Gardez-vous des Scribes qui aiment à se promener en longues robes, à recevoir les salutations dans les places publiques,
39 and the best seats in the synagogues, and the best places at feasts:
les premiers sièges dans les synagogues et les premières places dans les festins:
40 those who devour widows' houses, and for a pretense make long prayers. These will receive greater condemnation."
ces gens qui dévorent les maisons des veuves et font par ostentation de longues prières, subiront une plus forte condamnation. »
41 And he sat down opposite the treasury, and saw how the crowd cast money into the treasury. Many who were rich cast in much.
S’étant assis vis-à-vis du Tronc, Jésus considérait comment le peuple y jetait de la monnaie; plusieurs riches y mettaient beaucoup.
42 A poor widow came, and she cast in two lepta, which equal a kodrantes.
Une pauvre veuve étant venue, elle y mit deux petites pièces, valant ensemble le quart d’un as.
43 He called his disciples to himself, and said to them, "Truly I tell you, this poor widow gave more than all those who are giving into the treasury,
Alors Jésus, appelant ses disciples, leur dit: « Je vous le dis, en vérité, cette pauvre veuve a donné plus que tous ceux qui ont mis dans le Tronc.
44 for they all gave out of their abundance, but she, out of her poverty, gave all that she had to live on."
Car tous ont mis de leur superflu, mais cette femme a donné de son nécessaire, tout ce qu’elle possédait, tout ce qu’elle avait pour vivre. »
