Mark 10
1 He arose from there and came into the borders of Judea and beyond the Jordan. Crowds came together to him again. As he usually did, he was again teaching them.
イエスは、そこを立って、ユダヤ地方とヨルダンの向こうに行かれた。すると、群衆がまたもみもとに集まって来たので、またいつものように彼らを教えられた。
2 Pharisees came to him testing him, and asked him, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?"
すると、パリサイ人たちがみもとにやって来て、夫が妻を離別することは許されるかどうかと質問した。イエスをためそうとしたのである。
3 He answered, "What did Moses command you?"
イエスは答えて言われた。「モーセはあなたがたに、何と命じていますか。」
4 They said, "Moses allowed a certificate of divorce to be written, and to divorce her."
彼らは言った。「モーセは、離婚状を書いて妻を離別することを許しました。」
5 But Jesus said to them, "Because of your hardness of heart, he wrote you this commandment.
イエスは言われた。「モーセは、あなたがたの心がかたくななので、この命令をあなたがたに書いたのです。
6 But from the beginning of the creation, he made them male and female.
しかし、創造の初めから、神は、人を男と女に造られたのです。
7 For this cause a man will leave his father and mother, and will join to his wife,
それゆえ、人はその父と母を離れて、
8 and the two will become one flesh, so that they are no longer two, but one flesh.
ふたりの者が一心同体になるのです。それで、もはやふたりではなく、ひとりなのです。
9 What therefore God has joined together, let no one separate."
こういうわけで、人は、神が結び合わせたものを引き離してはなりません。」
10 In the house, the disciples asked him again about the same matter.
家に戻った弟子たちが、この問題についてイエスに尋ねた。
11 He said to them, "Whoever divorces his wife, and marries another, commits adultery against her.
そこで、イエスは彼らに言われた。「だれでも、妻を離別して別の女を妻にするなら、前の妻に対して姦淫を犯すのです。
12 If she herself divorces her husband, and marries another, she commits adultery."
妻も、夫を離別して別の男にとつぐなら、姦淫を犯しているのです。」
13 They were bringing to him little children, that he should touch them, but the disciples rebuked them.
さて、イエスにさわっていただこうとして、人々が子どもたちを、みもとに連れて来た。ところが、弟子たちは彼らをしかった。
14 But when Jesus saw it, he was moved with indignation, and said to them, "Allow the little children to come to me. Do not forbid them, for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
イエスはそれをご覧になり、憤って、彼らに言われた。「子どもたちを、わたしのところに来させなさい。止めてはいけません。神の国は、このような者たちのものです。
15 Truly I tell you, whoever will not receive the Kingdom of God like a little child, he will in no way enter into it."
まことに、あなたがたに告げます。子どものように神の国を受け入れる者でなければ、決してそこに、はいることはできません。」
16 And he took them in his arms, laying his hands on them, and blessed them.
そしてイエスは子どもたちを抱き、彼らの上に手を置いて祝福された。
17 As he was going out into the way, one ran to him, knelt before him, and asked him, "Good Teacher, what must I do that I may inherit everlasting life?" (aiōnios g166)
イエスが道に出て行かれると、ひとりの人が走り寄って、御前にひざまずいて、尋ねた。「尊い先生。永遠のいのちを自分のものとして受けるためには、私は何をしたらよいでしょうか。」 (aiōnios g166)
18 Jesus said to him, "Why do you call me good? No one is good except one—God.
イエスは彼に言われた。「なぜ、わたしを『尊い』と言うのですか。尊い方は、神おひとりのほかには、だれもありません。
19 You know the commandments: 'Do not commit adultery,' 'Do not murder,' 'Do not steal,' 'Do not give false testimony,' 'Do not defraud,' 'Honor your father and mother.'"
戒めはあなたもよく知っているはずです。『殺してはならない。姦淫してはならない。盗んではならない。偽証を立ててはならない。欺き取ってはならない。父と母を敬え。』」
20 And he said to him, "Teacher, I have kept all these things from my youth."
すると、その人はイエスに言った。「先生。私はそのようなことをみな、小さい時から守っております。」
21 Jesus looking at him loved him, and said to him, "One thing you lack. Go, sell whatever you have, and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me, taking up the cross."
イエスは彼を見つめ、その人をいつくしんで言われた。「あなたには、欠けたことが一つあります。帰って、あなたの持ち物をみな売り払い、貧しい人たちに与えなさい。そうすれば、あなたは天に宝を積むことになります。そのうえで、わたしについて来なさい。」
22 But his face fell at that saying, and he went away sorrowful, for he was one who had great possessions.
すると彼は、このことばに顔を曇らせ、悲しみながら立ち去った。なぜなら、この人は多くの財産を持っていたからである。
23 Jesus looked around, and said to his disciples, "How difficult it is for those who have riches to enter into the Kingdom of God."
イエスは、見回して、弟子たちに言われた。「裕福な者が神の国にはいることは、何とむずかしいことでしょう。」
24 The disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus answered again and said to them, "Children, how hard it is for those who trust in riches to enter the kingdom of God.
弟子たちは、イエスのことばに驚いた。しかし、イエスは重ねて、彼らに答えて言われた。「子たちよ。神の国にはいることは、何とむずかしいことでしょう。
25 It is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye than for a rich person to enter into the Kingdom of God."
金持ちが神の国にはいるよりは、らくだが針の穴を通るほうがもっとやさしい。」
26 They were exceedingly astonished, saying to him, "Then who can be saved?"
弟子たちは、ますます驚いて互いに言った。「それでは、だれが救われることができるのだろうか。」
27 Jesus, looking at them, said, "With humans it is impossible, but not with God, for all things are possible with God."
イエスは、彼らをじっと見て言われた。「それは人にはできないことですが、神は、そうではありません。どんなことでも、神にはできるのです。」
28 Peter began to tell him, "Look, we have left everything, and have followed you."
ペテロがイエスにこう言い始めた。「ご覧ください。私たちは、何もかも捨てて、あなたに従ってまいりました。」
29 Jesus said, "Truly I tell you, there is no one who has left house, or brothers, or sisters, or mother, or father, or children, or land, for my sake, and for the sake of the gospel,
イエスは言われた。「まことに、あなたがたに告げます。わたしのために、また福音のために、家、兄弟、姉妹、母、父、子、畑を捨てた者で、
31 But many who are first will be last; and the last first."
しかし、先の者があとになり、あとの者が先になることが多いのです。」
32 They were on the way, going up to Jerusalem; and Jesus was going in front of them, and they were amazed; and those who followed were afraid. He again took the twelve, and began to tell them the things that were going to happen to him.
さて、一行は、エルサレムに上る途中にあった。イエスは先頭に立って歩いて行かれた。弟子たちは驚き、また、あとについて行く者たちは恐れを覚えた。すると、イエスは再び十二弟子をそばに呼んで、ご自分に起ころうとしていることを、話し始められた。
33 "Look, we are going up to Jerusalem. The Son of Man will be delivered to the chief priests and the scribes. They will condemn him to death, and will deliver him to foreigners.
「さあ、これから、わたしたちはエルサレムに向かって行きます。人の子は、祭司長、律法学者たちに引き渡されるのです。彼らは、人の子を死刑に定め、そして、異邦人に引き渡します。
34 They will mock him, spit on him, scourge him, and kill him. After three days he will rise again."
すると彼らはあざけり、つばきをかけ、むち打ち、ついに殺します。しかし、人の子は三日の後に、よみがえります。」
35 James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came near to him, and said to him, "Teacher, we want you to do for us whatever we will ask."
さて、ゼベダイのふたりの子、ヤコブとヨハネが、イエスのところに来て言った。「先生。私たちの頼み事をかなえていただきたいと思います。」
36 He said to them, "What do you want me to do for you?"
イエスは彼らに言われた。「何をしてほしいのですか。」
37 They said to him, "Grant to us that we may sit, one at your right hand, and one at your left hand, in your glory."
彼らは言った。「あなたの栄光の座で、ひとりを先生の右に、ひとりを左にすわらせてください。」
38 But Jesus said to them, "You do not know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I drink, or to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?"
しかし、イエスは彼らに言われた。「あなたがたは自分が何を求めているのか、わかっていないのです。あなたがたは、わたしの飲もうとする杯を飲み、わたしの受けようとするバプテスマを受けることができますか。」
39 And they said to him, "We are able." And Jesus said to them, "You will drink the cup I drink, and you will be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with;
彼らは「できます。」と言った。イエスは言われた。「なるほどあなたがたは、わたしの飲む杯を飲み、わたしの受けるべきバプテスマを受けはします。
40 but to sit at my right hand and at my left hand is not mine to give, but for whom it has been prepared."
しかし、わたしの右と左にすわることは、わたしが許すことではありません。それに備えられた人々があるのです。」
41 When the ten heard it, they began to be indignant towards James and John.
十人の者がこのことを聞くと、ヤコブとヨハネのことで腹を立てた。
42 Jesus summoned them, and said to them, "You know that they who are recognized as rulers over the nations lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them.
そこで、イエスは彼らを呼び寄せて、言われた。「あなたがたも知っているとおり、異邦人の支配者と認められた者たちは彼らを支配し、また、偉い人たちは彼らの上に権力をふるいます。
43 But it will not be so among you, but whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant.
しかし、あなたがたの間では、そうでありません。あなたがたの間で偉くなりたいと思う者は、みなに仕える者になりなさい。
44 And whoever wants to be first among you must be slave of all.
あなたがたの間で人の先に立ちたいと思う者は、みなのしもべになりなさい。
45 For the Son of Man also did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."
人の子が来たのも、仕えられるためではなく、かえって仕えるためであり、また、多くの人のための、贖いの代価として、自分のいのちを与えるためなのです。」
46 They came to Jericho. As he went out from Jericho, with his disciples and a large crowd, Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, a blind beggar, was sitting by the road.
彼らはエリコに来た。イエスが、弟子たちや多くの群衆といっしょにエリコを出られると、テマイの子のバルテマイという盲人のこじきが、道ばたにすわっていた。
47 When he heard that it was Jesus the Nazarene, he began to cry out, and say, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me."
ところが、ナザレのイエスだと聞くと、「ダビデの子のイエスさま。私をあわれんでください。」と叫び始めた。
48 Many rebuked him, that he should be quiet, but he shouted all the louder, "Son of David, have mercy on me."
そこで、彼を黙らせようと、大ぜいでたしなめたが、彼はますます、「ダビデの子よ。私をあわれんでください。」と叫び立てた。
49 Jesus stood still, and said, "Call him." They called the blind man, saying to him, "Cheer up. Get up. He is calling you."
すると、イエスは立ち止まって、「あの人を呼んで来なさい。」と言われた。そこで、彼らはその盲人を呼び、「心配しないでよい。さあ、立ちなさい。あなたをお呼びになっている。」と言った。
50 He, casting away his coat, jumped up, and came to Jesus.
すると、盲人は上着を脱ぎ捨て、すぐ立ち上がって、イエスのところに来た。
51 Jesus asked him, "What do you want me to do for you?" The blind man said to him, "Rabboni, that I may see again."
そこでイエスは、さらにこう言われた。「わたしに何をしてほしいのか。」すると、盲人は言った。「先生。目が見えるようになることです。」
52 Jesus said to him, "Go your way. Your faith has made you well." And immediately he received his sight, and followed him on the road.
するとイエスは、彼に言われた。「さあ、行きなさい。あなたの信仰があなたを救ったのです。」すると、すぐさま彼は見えるようになり、イエスの行かれる所について行った。
