< Yochanan 7 >
1 After these things, Jesus was walking in Galilee, for he would not walk in Judea, because the Jewish leaders sought to kill him.
Cekcoengawh, Jesu taw Kalili qam kqang cet nawh, Judahkhqi ing him aham ami teng adawngawh Judah qam ce cehta hy.
2 Now the Jewish festival, the Feast of Tabernacles, was near.
Cehlai Judahkhqi a hi im poei ce a zoe law awhtaw,
3 So his brothers said to him, "Depart from here, and go into Judea, that your disciples also may see your works that you are doing.
Jesu a koeinaakhqi ing a venawh, “Ve a hun awhkawng Judah qam na na ceh kawp ti, na hubatkhqi ing kawpoek kyi ik-oeih na saikhqi ce ami huh naak aham.
4 For no one does anything in secret when he himself seeks to be known openly. If you do these things, show yourself to the world."
U awm thlang kqeng a huh awh dang aham ak ngaih taw ik-oeih ang hyp na am sai khawi hy. Vemyih ik-oeihkhqi na sai hawh dawngawh namah ingkaw namah ce khawmdek thlangkhqi venawh huh qu sak,” tina uhy.
5 For even his brothers did not believe in him.
A koeinaa nawnkhqi ingawm amah ce ap cangna uhy.
6 Jesus therefore said to them, "My time has not yet come, but your time is always ready.
cedawngawh Jesu ing, “Kai aham a tym pha law hlan hy; nangmih aham taw a tym ve awm poepa hy.
7 The world cannot hate you, but it hates me, because I testify about it, that its works are evil.
Khawmdek ing nangmih ce amni sawh nak khqi thai hy, cehlai ami them sai amak leekkhqi ce kak kqawn peek khqi camawh kai ni sawh na uhy.
8 You go up to the feast. I am not yet going up to this feast, because my time is not yet fulfilled."
Nangmih mah poeikung na cet uh. Cehlai ka tym a pha hlan dawngawh kai taw ce a poei na cet hly hlan nyng,” tinak khqi hy.
9 After he had said this, he stayed in Galilee.
Ce ak awi ak kqawn boeih coengawh Kalili awh ce awm hy.
10 But when his brothers had gone up to the feast, then he also went up, not publicly, but as it were in secret.
Cehlai a koeinaakhqi poei na ami ceh boeih coengawh, anih cet lawt hy, cehlai thlang a sim na am cet nawh ang hyp na cet hy.
11 The Jewish leaders therefore sought him at the feast, and said, "Where is he?"
Poei khuiawh Judahkhqi ing doen unawh sui uhy, “Hana nu ce ak thlang ce a awm hy voei?” ti uhy.
12 There was much murmuring among the crowds concerning him. Some said, "He is a good man." But others said, "Not so, but he leads the crowd astray."
Thlang kqeng ak khuiawh anih akawng ce kqawn sap sap uhy. Thlang vang ing, “Thlak leek ni ka ti koe noek,” ti uhy. Ak chang tloek bai ingtaw, “Amni, thlang ni a thainaak hy,” ti uhy.
13 Yet no one spoke openly of him for fear of the Jewish leaders.
Cehlai Judahkhqi ce amik kqih awh u ingawm ang dang qoeng na anih akawng ce ap kqawn uhy.
14 But when it was now the midst of the feast, Jesus went up into the temple and taught.
Poei a awm hui awh, Jesu ing bawkim na cet nawh thlang cawngpyi hy.
15 Then the Jewish leaders were astonished, saying, "How does this man know such writings, having never been educated?"
Juda thlangkhqi aming ngaih kyi nawh, “Ve ak thlang ing ca am cawng loei nawh, hana kaw vemyih saithainaakkhqi a huh hy voei?” ti uhy.
16 Jesus therefore answered them, "My teaching is not mine, but his who sent me.
Jesu ing, “Ka cawngpyinaak ve kamah a koe amni. Kai anik tyikung a venawh kaw ni.
17 If anyone desires to do his will, he will know about the teaching, whether it is from God, or if I am speaking from myself.
U ingawm Khawsa ak kawngaih ce sai aham ak tyh awhtaw, ka cawngpyinaak ve Khawsa a venawh kaw nu, am awhtaw kamah a cawngpyinaak mai nu, tice sim kaw.
18 He who speaks from himself seeks his own glory, but he who seeks the glory of him who sent him is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.
Amah poek awh awi ak kqawn taw amah zoeksang qunaak ahamni ak kqawn hy, cehlai anih ak tyikung zoeksangnaak aham bi ak bikung taw awitak ak thlang ni; amah awh ce amak thym ikaw awm am awm hy.
19 Did not Moses give you the Law, and yet none of you keeps the Law? Why do you seek to kill me?"
Mosi ing anaa awi am ni pek khqi nawh nu? Cehlai nangmih ak khuiawh pynoet kangna ingawm am hquut uhyk ti. Ikawtih kai him aham nami ni sui?” tinak khqi hy.
20 The crowd answered, "You have a demon. Who seeks to kill you?"
Cawh thlang kqeng ing, “Nang ve qaai ta hyk ti ve. U ing nu nang him aham ani sui?” tina uhy.
21 Jesus answered them, "I did one work, and you are all amazed.
Jesu ing a mingmih a venawh, “Kai ing kawpoek kyi them pynoet sai nyng, cawh nangmih naming ngaih na kyi hy.
22 Moses has given you circumcision (not that it is of Moses, but of the fathers), and on the Sabbath you circumcise a boy.
Cehlai Mosi ing chahhui qeetnaak ani peek khqi dawngawh (Mosi ing am pe nawh pakdamkhqi ing ni ami na peek hlai hy), Sabbath nyn awh nangmih ing naasen chahhui qeetnaak sai uhyk ti.
23 If a boy receives circumcision on the Sabbath, that the Law of Moses may not be broken, are you angry with me, because I made a man completely healthy on the Sabbath?
Naasen ce Sabbath nyn awh chahhui qeet pe hlai uhyk ti, Mosi a anaa awi ce eek na ama awm awhtaw, kawtih kai ing Sabbath nyn awh thlaktlo ka qoei sak awh nangmih namik kaw a so?
24 Do not judge according to appearance, but judge righteous judgment."
Ak khan toek nawh awi koeh tlyk uh, ak thym na awi tlyk uh,” tinak khqi hy.
25 Therefore some of them of Jerusalem said, "Is not this he whom they seek to kill?
Cawh Jerusalem khaw awhkaw thlang vang tloek ing, “Him aham ami sui ak thlang ce anih am nu ve?
26 Look, he speaks openly, and they say nothing to him. Can it be that the rulers indeed know that this is the Messiah?
Toek lah uh, ang dang qoengna awi ak kqawn awh, u ingawm a venawh ikaw am kqawn hqa uhy. Ukkungkhqi ing anih ve Khrih ni tinawh amik poek tang hy voei nu aw?
27 However we know where this man comes from, but when the Messiah comes, no one will know where he comes from."
Cehlai ningnih ingtaw anih ve hana kaw thlang nu tice ni sim uhy, Khrih a law awhtaw hana kawng nu a law tice u ingawm am sim hly hlai hy,” ti uhy.
28 Jesus therefore called out in the temple, teaching and saying, "You both know me, and know where I am from. I have not come of myself, but he who sent me is true, whom you do not know.
Cawh, Jesu ing bawkim awh a cawngpyi doena khy nawh, “Oeih, kai ve ni sim uhyk ti, kai ve hana kaw nu tice ni sim uhyk ti. Kai kamah poek ing vawh am law nyng, cehlai kai anik tyikung ce thym hy. Anih ce nangmih ing am sim uhyk ti,
29 I know him, because I am from him, and he sent me."
cehlai anih ing ni tyi nawh, anih a venawh kawng ka law dawngawh kai ingtaw sim nyng,” tinak khqi hy.
30 They sought therefore to take him; but no one laid a hand on him, because his hour had not yet come.
Cawh anih ce tu pahoei aham ngaih uhy, cehlai anih a tym ce a pha hlan dawngawh, u ingawm am tuhy.
31 But many in the crowd believed in him. They said, "When the Messiah comes, he won't do more signs than those which this man has done, will he?"
Cehlai, thlang khawzah ing anih awh ce cangnaak ta uhy. Cekkhqi ing, “Khrih a law awh, ve ak thlang anglakawh anih ing kawpoek kyi them khawzah ngai ak sai hly nu?” ti uhy.
32 The Pharisees heard the crowd murmuring these things concerning him, and the chief priests and the Pharisees sent officers to arrest him.
Thlangkhqi ing anih akawng cemyihna amik kqawn sap sap ce Farasikhqi ing za uhy. Cawh khawsoeih boeikhqi ingkaw Farasikhqi ing anih ce tu aham bawkim ukkungkhqi ce tyi uhy.
33 Then Jesus said, "I will be with you a little while longer, then I go to him who sent me.
Jesu ing, “Nangmih a venawh a khoehca ni ka awm hly, cekcoengawh taw kai anik tyikung a venna cet hly hawh nyng.
34 You will seek me, but won't find; and where I am, you cannot come."
Nangmih ing kai ce ni sui kawm uk ti, cehlai amni hu kawm uk ti; kai ka awmnaak awh nangmih am law thai kawm uk ti,” tinak khqi hy.
35 The Jewish leaders therefore said among themselves, "Where will this man go that we won't find him? Will he go to the Diaspora among the Greeks, and teach the Greeks?
Cawh Judahkhqi ing, “Amni huh thainaak aham hana nu cet valh vang a ti hy voei? Nimah thlangkhqi ing poeng unawh aming kqeng aming tainaak Greekkhqi anglak na cet nawh Greekkhqi cawngpyi khqi vang, tinawh hy voei aw?
36 What is this word that he said, 'You will seek me, but won't find; and where I am, you cannot come'?"
‘Nangmih ing ni sui hly hlai uhyk ti, amni hu kawm uk ti, kai ka awmnaak awh nangmih am law thai kawm uk ti,’ a ti hy voei?” ti uhy.
37 Now on the last and greatest day of the feast, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink.
Poei a dytnaak ingkaw a pui khyt a khawnghi awh, Jesu ing dyi nawh kawteh na, “U awm tui ak ngaih taw ka venna law seitaw, tui aw seh.
38 He who believes in me, as the Scripture has said, from within him will flow rivers of living water."
U awm kai anik cangnaak thlang taw, cak ciim ing ak kqawn amyihna, ak kawk khui nakawng hqingnaak tui ce lawng kaw,” tinawh khy hy.
39 But he said this about the Spirit, which those believing in him were to receive. For the Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
40 Some of the crowd therefore, when they heard these words, said, "This is truly the Prophet."
Ak awi ce aming zaak awh, thlang vang ing, “Ve ak thlang ve tawngha tang ni,” ti uhy.
41 Others said, "This is the Messiah." But some said, "What, does the Messiah come out of Galilee?
Thlang vang bai ingtaw, “Ve ak thlang ve Khrih ni,” ti uhy. Thlak changkhqi bai ing taw, “Ikawmyihna Khrih ce Kalili awhkawng a law thai kaw?
42 Hasn't the Scripture said that the Messiah comes of the offspring of David, and from Bethlehem, the village where David was?"
Cakciim ing, 'Khrih taw David ipkhui awhkawng law kaw, David a awmnaak khaw Bethlehem awhkawng law kaw,' tihy ka ti koe noek?” ti uhy.
43 So there arose a division in the crowd because of him.
Jesu ak camawh thlang kqeng ce pek ang bo qu uhy.
44 Some of them would have arrested him, but no one laid hands on him.
Thlang vang ing anih ce tu aham ngaih uhy, cehlai u ingawm am tuhy.
45 The officers therefore came to the chief priests and Pharisees, and they said to them, "Why did you not bring him?"
A huna taw bawkim temkungkhqi ce khawsoeih boeikhqi ingkaw Farasikhqi venna hlat tlaih uhy, cekkhqi ing, “Ikawtih anih ce am nami law pyi? tina uhy.
46 The officers answered, "No man ever spoke like this man."
Bawkim teemkungkhqi ing, “U ingawm anih amyihna awi ap kqawn khawi hlan hy, tina uhy.
47 The Pharisees therefore answered them, "You are not also led astray, are you?
Farasikhqi ing, “Nangmih awm ni thai nak khqi hawh lawt hy my ce?
48 Have any of the rulers believed in him, or of the Pharisees?
Ukkung am awhtaw Farasi pynoet oet ing anih ak awi ce cangna hawh nawh leek nu?
49 But this crowd that does not know the Law is accursed."
Amni! Vawhkaw thlang kqeng ing anaa awi ikaw awm am sim uhy, a mingmih ak khanawh awihkha awm hawh hy,” ti uhy.
50 Nicodemus (he who came to him before, being one of them) said to them,
A mingmih anglakawh pynoet na awm nawh ak cyk awh Jesu a venna ak cet Nekodemu ing,
51 "Does our Law judge a man, unless it first hears from him personally and knows what he does?"
“Ningmih anaa awi ing thlang a ik-oeih sai lamma na ang zaak hlanawh thawlh sak paqap qap nawh nu? tinak khqi hy.
52 They answered him, "Are you also from Galilee? Search, and see that no prophet comes from Galilee."
A mingmih ing, “Nang awm Kalili ben awhkaw thlang lawt aw? Sui nawh toek lah thaw voeih ti, Kalili awhkawng tawngha ap cawn khawi hy,” tina uhy.
53 Then everyone went to his own house,
Cekcoengawh, im na voei boeih uhy.
