Yochanan 4
1 Therefore when Jesus knew that the Pharisees had heard, "Jesus is making and baptizing more disciples than John"
Cuando el Señor supo que los fariseos estaban informados de que Jesús hacía más discípulos y bautizaba más que Juan —
2 (although Jesus himself did not baptize, but his disciples),
aunque Jesús mismo no bautizaba, sino sus discípulos—
3 he left Judea, and departed again into Galilee.
abandonó la Judea y se volvió a Galilea.
4 He needed to pass through Samaria.
Debía, pues, pasar por Samaria.
5 So he came to a city of Samaria, called Sychar, near the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son, Joseph.
Llegó a una ciudad de Samaria llamada Sicar, junto a la posesión que dio Jacob a su hijo José.
6 Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being tired from his journey, sat down by the well. It was about the sixth hour.
Allí se encuentra el pozo de Jacob. Jesús, pues, fatigado del viaje, se sentó así junto al pozo. Era alrededor de la hora sexta.
7 A woman of Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, "Give me a drink."
Vino una mujer de Samaria a sacar agua. Jesús le dijo: “Dame de beber”.
8 For his disciples had gone away into the city to buy food.
Entretanto, sus discípulos se habían ido a la ciudad a comprar víveres.
9 The Samaritan woman therefore said to him, "How can you, being a Jew, ask for a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?" (For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.)
Entonces la samaritana le dijo: “¿Cómo Tú, judío, me pides de beber a mí que soy mujer samaritana?” Porque los judíos no tienen comunicación con los samaritanos.
10 Jesus answered her, "If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, 'Give me a drink,' you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water."
Jesús le respondió y dijo: “Si tú conocieras el don de Dios, y quien es el que te dice: «Dame de beber», quizá tú le hubieras pedido a Él, y Él te habría dado agua viva”.
11 The woman said to him, "Sir, you have nothing to draw with, and the well is deep. From where do you get that living water?
Ella le dijo: “Señor, Tú no tienes con qué sacar, y el pozo es hondo; ¿de dónde entonces tienes esa agua viva?
12 Are you greater than our father, Jacob, who gave us the well, and drank of it himself, as did his children, and his livestock?"
Acaso eres Tú mayor que nuestro padre Jacob, que nos dio este pozo, del cual bebió él mismo, y sus hijos y sus ganados?”
13 Jesus answered her, "Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again,
Respondiole Jesús: “Todos los que beben de esta agua, tendrán de nuevo sed;
15 The woman said to him, "Sir, give me this water, so that I do not get thirsty, neither come all the way here to draw."
Díjole la mujer: “Señor, dame esa agua, para que no tenga más sed, ni tenga más que venir a sacar agua”.
16 He said to her, "Go, call your husband, and come here."
Él le dijo: “Ve a buscar a tu marido, y vuelve aquí”.
17 The woman answered and said to him, "I have no husband." Jesus said to her, "You said well, 'I have no husband,'
Replicole la mujer y dijo: “No tengo marido”. Jesús le dijo: “Bien has dicho: «No tengo marido»;
18 for you have had five husbands; and he whom you now have is not your husband. This you have said truly."
porque cinco maridos has tenido, y el hombre que ahora tienes, no es tu marido; has dicho la verdad”.
19 The woman said to him, "Sir, I perceive that you are a prophet.
Díjole la mujer: “Señor, veo que eres profeta.
20 Our fathers worshiped in this mountain, and you say that in Jerusalem is the place where people ought to worship."
Nuestros padres adoraron sobre este monte; según vosotros, en Jerusalén está el lugar donde se debe adorar”.
21 Jesus said to her, "Woman, believe me, the hour comes, when neither in this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, will you worship the Father.
Jesús le respondió: “Mujer, créeme a Mí, porque viene la hora, en que ni sobre este monte ni en Jerusalén adoraréis al Padre.
22 You worship that which you do not know. We worship that which we know; for salvation is from the Jews.
Vosotros, adoráis lo que no conocéis; nosotros adoramos lo que conocemos, porque la salvación viene de los judíos.
23 But the hour comes, and now is, when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father seeks such to be his worshippers.
Pero la hora viene, y ya ha llegado, en que los adoradores verdaderos adorarán al Padre en espíritu y en verdad; porque también el Padre desea que los que adoran sean tales.
24 God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth."
Dios es espíritu, y los que lo adoran, deben adorarlo en espíritu y en verdad”.
25 The woman said to him, "I know that (the) Messiah comes," (he who is called Anointed One). "When he has come, he will declare to us all things."
Díjole la mujer: “Yo sé que el Mesías —es decir el Cristo— ha de venir. Cuando Él venga, nos instruirá en todo”.
26 Jesus said to her, "I am he, the one who speaks to you."
Jesús le dijo: “Yo lo soy. Yo que te hablo”.
27 At this, his disciples came. They were surprised that he was speaking with a woman; yet no one said, "What are you looking for?" or, "Why do you speak with her?"
En este momento llegaron los discípulos, y quedaron admirados de que hablase con una mujer. Ninguno, sin embargo, le dijo: “¿Qué preguntas?” o “¿Qué hablas con ella?”
28 So the woman left her water pot, and went away into the city, and said to the people,
Entonces la mujer, dejando su cántaro, se fue a la ciudad, y dijo a los hombres:
29 "Come, see a man who told me everything that I did. Can this be the Messiah?"
“Venid a ver a un hombre que me ha dicho todo lo que he hecho: ¿no será este el Cristo?”
30 They went out of the city, and were coming to him.
Y salieron de la ciudad para ir a encontrarlo.
31 In the meanwhile, the disciples urged him, saying, "Rabbi, eat."
Entretanto los discípulos le rogaron: “Rabí, come”.
32 But he said to them, "I have food to eat that you do not know about."
Pero Él les dijo: “Yo tengo un manjar para comer, que vosotros no conocéis”.
33 The disciples therefore said one to another, "Has anyone brought him something to eat?"
Y los discípulos se decían entre ellos: “¿Alguien le habrá traído de comer?”
34 Jesus said to them, "My food is to do the will of him who sent me, and to accomplish his work.
Mas Jesús les dijo: “Mi alimento es hacer la voluntad de Aquel que me envió y dar cumplimiento a su obra.
35 Do you not say, 'There are yet four months until the harvest?' Look, I tell you, lift up your eyes and see the fields, that they are white for harvest already.
¿No decís vosotros: Todavía cuatro meses, y viene la siega? Y bien, Yo os digo: Levantad vuestros ojos, y mirad los campos, que ya están blancos para la siega.
36 He who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit to everlasting life; that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together. (aiōnios g166)
El que siega, recibe su recompensa y recoge la mies para la vida eterna, para que el que siembra se regocije al mismo tiempo que el que siega. (aiōnios g166)
37 For in this the saying is true, 'One sows, and another reaps.'
Pues en esto se verifica el proverbio: «Uno es el que siembra, otro el que siega».
38 I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored. Others have labored, and you have entered into their labor."
Yo os he enviado a cosechar lo que vosotros no habéis labrado. Otros labraron, y vosotros habéis entrado en ( posesión del fruto de ) sus trabajos”.
39 From that city many of the Samaritans believed in him because of the word of the woman, who testified, "He told me everything that I did."
Muchos de los samaritanos de aquella ciudad creyeron en Él por la palabra de la mujer que testificaba diciendo: “Él me ha dicho todo cuanto he hecho”.
40 So when the Samaritans came to him, they asked him to stay with them. He stayed there two days.
Cuando los samaritanos vinieron a Él, le rogaron que se quedase con ellos; y se quedó allí dos días.
41 Many more believed because of his word.
Y muchos más creyeron a causa de su palabra,
42 They said to the woman, "Now we believe, not because of your speaking; for we have heard for ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Savior of the world."
y decían a la mujer: “Ya no creemos a causa de tus palabras; nosotros mismos lo hemos oído, y sabemos que Él es verdaderamente el Salvador del mundo”.
43 After the two days he departed from there to Galilee.
Pasados aquellos dos días, partió para Galilea.
44 For Jesus himself testified that a prophet has no honor in his own country.
Ahora bien, Jesús mismo atestiguó que ningún profeta es honrado en su patria.
45 So when he came into Galilee, the Galileans received him, having seen all the things that he did in Jerusalem at the feast, for they also went to the feast.
Cuando llegó a Galilea, fue recibido por los galileos, que habían visto todas las grandes cosas hechas por Él en Jerusalén durante la fiesta; porque ellos también habían ido a la fiesta.
46 Jesus came therefore again to Cana of Galilee, where he made the water into wine. There was a certain nobleman whose son was sick at Capernaum.
Fue, pues, otra vez a Caná de Galilea, donde había convertido el agua en vino. Y había un cortesano cuyo hijo estaba enfermo en Cafarnaúm.
47 When he heard that Jesus had come out of Judea into Galilee, he went to him, and pleaded with him that he would come down and heal his son, for he was close to death.
Cuando él oyó que Jesús había vuelto de Judea a Galilea, se fue a encontrarlo, y le rogó que bajase para sanar a su hijo, porque estaba para morir.
48 Jesus therefore said to him, "Unless you see signs and wonders, you will in no way believe."
Jesús le dijo: “¡Si no veis signos y prodigios, no creeréis!”.
49 The nobleman said to him, "Sir, come down before my child dies."
Respondiole el cortesano: “Señor, baja antes que muera mi hijo”.
50 Jesus said to him, "Go your way. Your son lives." The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him, and he went his way.
Jesús le dijo: “Ve, tu hijo vive”. Creyó este hombre a la palabra que le dijo Jesús y se puso en marcha.
51 As he was now going down, his servants met him, saying that his son was alive.
Ya bajaba, cuando encontró a algunos de sus criados que le dijeron que su hijo vivía.
52 So he inquired of them the hour when he began to get better. They said therefore to him, "Yesterday at one in the afternoon, the fever left him."
Preguntoles, entonces, la hora en que se había puesto mejor. Y le respondieron: “Ayer, a la hora séptima, le dejó la fiebre”.
53 So the father knew that it was at that hour in which Jesus said to him, "Your son lives." He believed, as did his whole house.
Y el padre reconoció que esta misma era la hora en que Jesús le había dicho: “Tu hijo vive”. Y creyó él, y toda su casa.
54 This is again the second sign that Jesus did, having come out of Judea into Galilee.
Este fue el segundo milagro que hizo Jesús vuelto de Judea a Galilea.
