Jacob 1
1 James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus (the) Messiah, to the twelve tribes which are in the Diaspora: Greetings.
อีศฺวรสฺย ปฺรโภ รฺยีศุขฺรีษฺฏสฺย จ ทาโส ยากูพฺ วิกีรฺณีภูตานฺ ทฺวาทศํ วํศานฺ ปฺรติ นมสฺกฺฤตฺย ปตฺรํ ลิขติฯ
2 Count it all joy, my brothers, when you encounter various trials,
เห มม ภฺราตร: , ยูยํ ยทา พหุวิธปรีกฺษาษุ นิปตต ตทา ตตฺ ปูรฺณานนฺทสฺย การณํ มนฺยธฺวํฯ
3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.
ยโต ยุษฺมากํ วิศฺวาสสฺย ปรีกฺษิตเตฺวน ไธรฺยฺยํ สมฺปาทฺยต อิติ ชานีถฯ
4 Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
ตจฺจ ไธรฺยฺยํ สิทฺธผลํ ภวตุ เตน ยูยํ สิทฺธา: สมฺปูรฺณาศฺจ ภวิษฺยถ กสฺยาปิ คุณสฺยาภาวศฺจ ยุษฺมากํ น ภวิษฺยติฯ
5 But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without finding fault; and it will be given to him.
ยุษฺมากํ กสฺยาปิ ชฺญานาภาโว ยทิ ภเวตฺ ตรฺหิ ย อีศฺวร: สรลภาเวน ติรสฺการญฺจ วินา สรฺเวฺวโภฺย ททาติ ตต: ส ยาจตำ ตตสฺตไสฺม ทายิษฺยเตฯ
6 But let him ask in faith, without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind.
กินฺตุ ส นิ: สนฺเทห: สนฺ วิศฺวาเสน ยาจตำ ยต: สนฺทิคฺโธ มานโว วายุนา จาลิตโสฺยตฺปฺลวมานสฺย จ สมุทฺรตรงฺคสฺย สทฺฤโศ ภวติฯ
7 For let that person not think that he will receive anything from the Lord.
ตาทฺฤโศ มานว: ปฺรโภ: กิญฺจิตฺ ปฺราปฺสฺยตีติ น มนฺยตำฯ
8 He is a double-minded person, unstable in all his ways.
ทฺวิมนา โลก: สรฺวฺวคติษุ จญฺจโล ภวติฯ
9 But let the brother in humble circumstances glory in his high position;
โย ภฺราตา นมฺร: ส นิโชนฺนตฺยา ศฺลาฆตำฯ
10 and the rich, in that he is made humble, because like the flower in the grass, he will pass away.
ยศฺจ ธนวานฺ ส นิชนมฺรตยา ศฺลาฆตำยต: ส ตฺฤณปุษฺปวตฺ กฺษยํ คมิษฺยติฯ
11 For the sun arises with the scorching wind, and withers the grass, and the flower in it falls, and the beauty of its appearance perishes. So also will the rich person fade away in his pursuits.
ยต: สตาเปน สูรฺเยฺยโณทิตฺย ตฺฤณํ โศษฺยเต ตตฺปุษฺปญฺจ ภฺรศฺยติ เตน ตสฺย รูปสฺย เสานฺทรฺยฺยํ นศฺยติ ตทฺวทฺ ธนิโลโก'ปิ สฺวียมูฒตยา มฺลาสฺยติฯ
12 Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial, for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life, which he promised to those who love him.
โย ชน: ปรีกฺษำ สหเต ส เอว ธนฺย: , ยต: ปรีกฺษิตตฺวํ ปฺราปฺย ส ปฺรภุนา สฺวเปฺรมการิภฺย: ปฺรติชฺญาตํ ชีวนมุกุฏํ ลปฺสฺยเตฯ
13 Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am tempted by God," for God cannot be tempted by evil, and he himself tempts no one.
อีศฺวโร มำ ปรีกฺษต อิติ ปรีกฺษาสมเย โก'ปิ น วทตุ ยต: ปาปาเยศฺวรสฺย ปรีกฺษา น ภวติ ส จ กมปิ น ปรีกฺษเตฯ
14 But each one is tempted, when he is drawn away by his own lust, and enticed.
กินฺตุ ย: กศฺจิตฺ สฺวียมโนวาญฺฉยากฺฤษฺยเต โลภฺยเต จ ตไสฺยว ปรีกฺษา ภวติฯ
15 Then the lust, when it has conceived, bears sin; and the sin, when it is full grown, brings forth death.
ตสฺมาตฺ สา มโนวาญฺฉา สครฺภา ภูตฺวา ทุษฺกฺฤตึ ปฺรสูเต ทุษฺกฺฤติศฺจ ปริณามํ คตฺวา มฺฤตฺยุํ ชนยติฯ
16 Do not be deceived, my beloved brothers.
เห มม ปฺริยภฺราตร: , ยูยํ น ภฺรามฺยตฯ
17 All generous giving and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation, nor turning shadow.
ยตฺ กิญฺจิทฺ อุตฺตมํ ทานํ ปูรฺโณ วรศฺจ ตตฺ สรฺวฺวมฺ อูรฺทฺธฺวาทฺ อรฺถโต ยสฺมินฺ ทศานฺตรํ ปริวรฺตฺตนชาตจฺฉายา วา นาสฺติ ตสฺมาทฺ ทีปฺตฺยากราตฺ ปิตุรวโรหติฯ
18 Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of first fruits of his creatures.
ตสฺย สฺฤษฺฏวสฺตูนำ มเธฺย วยํ ยตฺ ปฺรถมผลสฺวรูปา ภวามสฺตทรฺถํ ส เสฺวจฺฉาต: สตฺยมตสฺย วาเกฺยนาสฺมานฺ ชนยามาสฯ
19 This you know, my beloved brothers. But let every person be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger;
อเตอว เห มม ปฺริยภฺราตร: , ยุษฺมากมฺ เอไกโก ชน: ศฺรวเณ ตฺวริต: กถเน ธีร: โกฺรเธ'ปิ ธีโร ภวตุฯ
20 for human anger does not produce the righteousness of God.
ยโต มานวสฺย โกฺรธ อีศฺวรียธรฺมฺมํ น สาธยติฯ
21 Therefore, putting away all filthiness and overflowing of wickedness, receive with humility the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.
อโต เหโต รฺยูยํ สรฺวฺวามฺ อศุจิกฺริยำ ทุษฺฏตาพาหุลฺยญฺจ นิกฺษิปฺย ยุษฺมนฺมนสำ ปริตฺราเณ สมรฺถํ โรปิตํ วากฺยํ นมฺรภาเวน คฺฤหฺลีตฯ
22 But be doers of the word, and not only hearers, deluding your own selves.
อปรญฺจ ยูยํ เกวลมฺ อาตฺมวญฺจยิตาโร วากฺยสฺย โศฺรตาโร น ภวต กินฺตุ วากฺยสฺย กรฺมฺมการิโณ ภวตฯ
23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like someone looking at his natural face in a mirror;
ยโต ย: กศฺจิทฺ วากฺยสฺย กรฺมฺมการี น ภูตฺวา เกวลํ ตสฺย โศฺรตา ภวติ ส ทรฺปเณ สฺวียศารีริกวทนํ นิรีกฺษมาณสฺย มนุชสฺย สทฺฤศ: ฯ
24 for he sees himself, and goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of person he was.
อาตฺมากาเร ทฺฤษฺเฏ ส ปฺรสฺถาย กีทฺฤศ อาสีตฺ ตตฺ ตตฺกฺษณาทฺ วิสฺมรติฯ
25 But he who looks into the perfect Law of freedom, and continues, not being a hearer who forgets, but a doer of the work, this person will be blessed in what he does.
กินฺตุ ย: กศฺจิตฺ นตฺวา มุกฺเต: สิทฺธำ วฺยวสฺถามฺ อาโลกฺย ติษฺฐติ ส วิสฺมฺฤติยุกฺต: โศฺรตา น ภูตฺวา กรฺมฺมกรฺตฺไตว สนฺ สฺวการฺเยฺย ธโนฺย ภวิษฺยติฯ
26 If anyone thinks himself to be religious while he does not control his tongue, but deceives his heart, this one's religion is worthless.
อนายตฺตรสน: สนฺ ย: กศฺจิตฺ สฺวมโน วญฺจยิตฺวา สฺวํ ภกฺตํ มนฺยเต ตสฺย ภกฺติ รฺมุธา ภวติฯ
27 Pure religion and undefiled before our God and Father is this: to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.
เกฺลศกาเล ปิตฺฤหีนานำ วิธวานาญฺจ ยทฺ อเวกฺษณํ สํสาราจฺจ นิษฺกลงฺเกน ยทฺ อาตฺมรกฺษณํ ตเทว ปิตุรีศฺวรสฺย สากฺษาตฺ ศุจิ รฺนิรฺมฺมลา จ ภกฺติ: ฯ
