< Jacob 3 >

1 Let not many of you be teachers, my brothers, knowing that we will receive heavier judgment.
Eigi ichil-inaosa, nakhoi ayambana tambiba ojasing oiganu maramdi tambiba oja oiba eikhoi henna kanba wayenba phanggani haiba nakhoina khangliba aduni.
2 For in many things we all stumble. If anyone does not stumble in word, this one is a perfect person, able to bridle the whole body also.
Eikhoi pumnamak toina asoiba toui. Adubu kanagumba mi amana mahakna haiba wada asoiba amata leitrabadi, mahak mapung phaba amasung mahakki masa apumba khudum chanba ngamba mi amani.
3 Now if we put bits into the horses' mouths so that they may obey us, we guide their whole body.
Eikhoigi haiba innanaba eikhoina sagolgi machinda yachan challi aduga eikhoina chatningba maphamda mahakpu chat-hanba ngammi.
4 And look at the ships also, though they are so big and are driven by fierce winds, are yet guided by a very small rudder, wherever the pilot desires.
Nattraga achouba hi amagi maramda wakhal tousi: hi adu yamna chaojarabasu amadi akanba nungsitna humlaga purabasu piklaba nougi mapanna hinao sabana chatning chatningba maikeida koilei leiba ngammi.
5 So the tongue is also a little member, and boasts great things. See how a small fire can spread to a large forest.
Adugumduna lei asisuni: madu pikcharasu achou achoubasinggi maramda napan tou-i. Khanthabiyu, piklaba meirik amana chaokhraba umang amabu mei chak-hanba ngamlibani!
6 And the tongue is a fire. The world of iniquity among our members is the tongue, which defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature, and is set on fire by hell. (Geenna g1067)
Leidi meigumbani, ayol arangi taibangpanbani; leina eikhoigi hakchang kayatsinggi marakta kayat ama oiduna hakchang apumbada phattaba sandok-i, amasung mahakki punsigi khongchat pumnamak norok-maktagi lakpa meina chak-halli. (Geenna g1067)
7 For all kinds of animals, and birds, of reptiles and sea creatures, are being tamed and have been tamed by humankind.
Makhal khudingmakki sasing, ucheksing, mapukna sittuna chatpa sasing amasung isingda hinglibasingbu mioibana lakpa ngammi.
8 But nobody can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.
Adubu mi kana amatana leibu lakpadi ngamde. Masi khudum chanba ngamdaba phattaba amani, siba yaba huna thalli.
9 With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse people, who are made in the image of God.
Masigi lei asina eikhoina eikhoigi Mapu Ibungo amasung Ipabu thagatli, aduga Tengban Mapugi mitamda semkhraba misingbu eikhoina sirap tou-i.
10 Out of the same mouth comes forth blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so.
Chin amatadagi thagat waheising amasung sirap touba thoklak-i. Eigi ichil inaosa, masi asumna oiroidabani!
11 Does a spring send out from the same opening fresh and bitter water?
Iphut amadagi thumhi chenba ising amasung thumhi chendaba ising animak thoklakte.
12 Can a fig tree, my brothers, yield olives, or a vine figs? Nor is salt water able to produce sweet.
Eigi ichil inaosa, heiyit panbida chorphon panba yaba hounade aduga anggur pambida heiyit panba yaba hounade. Matou asumna thumhi chenba iphutna thumhi chendaba ising thok-hanba yaba hounade.
13 Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by his good conduct that his deeds are done in gentleness of wisdom.
Nakhoigi narakta asingba amasung wakhal taba kanagumba yaobra? Mahakki aphaba punsi amadi lousing amasung nolukpaga loinna mahakna pangthokpa aphaba thabakna utsanu.
14 But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, do not boast and do not lie against the truth.
Adubu nakhoigi thamoinungda yamna kallakpa amasung masagi oijabata thiba adu karigumba leirabadi, nakhoina nakhoigi lousinggi maramda chaothoktuna achumbagi maiyokta pap langsin-ganu.
15 This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, sensual, and demonic.
Adugumba lousing adudi swargadagi lakpa natte; madu taibangpangi oibani, thawaigi oiba natte lai phattabadagi oibani.
16 For where jealousy and selfish ambition are, there is confusion and every evil deed.
Kallakpa amasung masagi oijaba thiba leiba maphamda charangnaba amadi makhal khudingmakki phattaba adu lei.
17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceful, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, without hypocrisy.
Adubu swargadagi lakpa lousing adu ahanbada asengbani; adudagi ingthaba, pukning tappa, amasung marup mapang oiba; nungsiheibana thanba amasung aphaba thabakki maheising puthokpa; michang-mikhai naidaba amasung aphasasinnaba yaodaba oi.
18 Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.
Ingthabagi maru hunba ingthaba pibasingna achumba chatpagi mahei lok-i.
