Haggai 1
1 In the second year of Daryavesh the king, in the sixth month, in the first day of the month, the word of the LORD came by Haggai, the prophet, to Zerubbabel, the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua, the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, saying,
No ano segundo do rei Dario, no sexto mes, no primeiro dia do mes, veio a palavra do Senhor, pelo ministério do profeta Aggeo, a Zorobabel, filho de Sealtiel, príncipe de Judá, e a Josué, filho de Josadac, o sumo sacerdote, dizendo:
2 "This is what the LORD of hosts says: These people say, 'The time hasn't yet come, the time for the LORD's house to be built.'"
Assim fala o Senhor dos exércitos, dizendo: Este povo diz: Não é vindo o tempo, o tempo em que a casa do Senhor se edifique.
3 Then the word of the LORD came by Haggai, the prophet, saying,
Veio pois a palavra do Senhor, pelo ministério do profeta Aggeo, dizendo:
4 "Is it a time for you yourselves to dwell in your paneled houses, while this house lies waste?
Porventura é para vós tempo de habitardes nas vossas casas entaboladas, e esta casa há de ficar deserta?
5 Now therefore this is what the LORD of hosts says: Consider your ways.
Ora pois, assim diz o Senhor dos exércitos: aplicai os vossos corações aos vossos caminhos.
6 You have sown much, and bring in little. You eat, but you do not have enough. You drink, but you aren't filled with drink. You clothe yourselves, but no one is warm, and he who earns wages earns wages to put them into a bag with holes in it."
Semeiais muito, e recolheis pouco; comeis, porém não vos fartais; bebeis, porém não vos saciais; vestis-vos, porém ninguém fica quente; e o que recebe salário, recebe salário num saco furado.
7 This is what the LORD of hosts says: "Consider your ways.
Assim diz o Senhor dos exércitos: aplicai os vossos corações aos vossos caminhos.
8 Go up to the mountain, bring wood, and build the house. I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified," says the LORD.
Subi ao monte, e trazei madeira, e edificai a casa, e dela me agradarei, e serei glorificado, diz o Senhor.
9 "You looked for much, and, look, it came to little; and when you brought it home, I blew it away. Why?" says the LORD of hosts, "Because of my house that lies waste, while each of you is busy with his own house.
Olhastes para muito, mas eis que alcançastes pouco; e, quando o trouxestes a casa, eu lhe assoprei. Por que causa? disse o Senhor dos exércitos: por causa da minha casa, que está deserta, e cada um de vós corre à sua própria casa.
10 Therefore for your sake the heavens withhold the dew, and the earth withholds its fruit.
Por isso se cerram os céus sobre vós, para não darem orvalho e a terra detém os seus frutos.
11 I called for a drought on the land, and on the mountains, and on the grain, and on the new wine, on the oil, and on all what the ground produces, and on men, and on livestock, and on all the labor of the hands."
Porque chamei secura sobre a terra, e sobre os montes, e sobre o trigo e sobre o mosto; e sobre o azeite, e sobre o que a terra produz: como também sobre os homens, e sobre os animais, e sobre todo o trabalho das mãos.
12 Then Zerubbabel, the son of Shealtiel, and Joshua, the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, with all the remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of the LORD, their God, and the words of Haggai, the prophet, as the LORD, their God, had sent him; and the people feared the LORD.
Então ouviu Zorobabel, filho de Sealtiel, e Josué, filho de Josadac, sumo sacerdote, e todo o resto do povo a voz do Senhor seu Deus; e as palavras do profeta Aggeo, assim como o Senhor seu Deus o enviou; e temeu o povo diante do Senhor.
13 Then Haggai, the LORD's messenger, spoke the LORD's message to the people, saying, "I am with you," says the LORD.
Então Aggeo, o embaixador do Senhor, na embaixada do Senhor, falou ao povo, dizendo: Eu sou convosco, diz o Senhor.
14 The LORD stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel, the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua, the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and worked on the house of the LORD of hosts, their God,
E o Senhor suscitou o espírito de Zorobabel, filho de Sealtiel, príncipe de Judá, e o espírito de Josué, filho de Josadac, sumo sacerdote, e o espírito do resto de todo o povo, e vieram, e fizeram a obra na casa do Senhor dos exércitos, seu Deus,
15 in the twenty-fourth day of the month, in the sixth month, in the second year of Daryavesh the king.
Ao vigésimo quarto dia do sexto mes, no segundo ano do rei Dario.
