Galatians 2
1 Then after a period of fourteen years I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, taking Titus also with me.
Potem po czternastu latach wstąpiłem zasię do Jeruzalemu z Barnabaszem, wziąwszy z sobą i Tytusa.
2 I went up by revelation, and I explained to them the gospel which I preach among those who are not Jewish, but privately before those who were respected, for fear that I might be running, or had run, in vain.
A wstąpiłem według objawienia i przełożyłem im Ewangieliję, którą każę między poganami, a zwłaszcza zacniejszym, bym snać nadaremno nie bieżał, albo przedtem nie biegał.
3 But not even Titus, who was with me, being a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised.
Ale ani Tytus, który ze mną był, będąc Grekiem, nie był przymuszony obrzezać się,
4 This was because of the false brothers secretly brought in, who stole in to spy out our liberty which we have in Messiah Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage;

5 to whom we gave no place in the way of subjection, not for an hour, that the truth of the gospel might continue with you.

6 But from those who were reputed to be important (whatever they were, it makes no difference to me; God shows no favoritism between people)—they, I say, who were respected imparted nothing to me,

7 but to the contrary, when they saw that I had been entrusted with the gospel for the uncircumcision, even as Peter with the gospel for the circumcision
Owszem, przeciwnym obyczajem, widząc, iż mi jest zwierzona Ewangielija między nieobrzezanymi, jako Piotrowi między obrzezanymi,
8 (for he who appointed Peter to be an apostle of the circumcision appointed me also to the non-Jews);
(Albowiem ten, który był skuteczny przez Piotra w apostolstwie między obrzezanymi, skuteczny był i we mnie między poganami.)
9 and when they perceived the grace that was given to me, James and Cephas and John, they who were reputed to be pillars, gave to me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship, that we should go to the non-Jews, and they to the circumcised.

10 They only asked us to remember the poor—which very thing I was also zealous to do.

11 But when Cephas came to Antioch, I resisted him to his face, because he stood condemned.
A gdy przyszedł Piotr do Antyjochii, sprzeciwiłem się mu w twarz; i był godzien nagany.
12 For before some people came from James, he ate with those who were not Jewish. But when they came, he drew back and separated himself, fearing those who were of the circumcision.
Albowiem przedtem, niż przyszli niektórzy od Jakóba, wespół z poganami jadał; a gdy ci przyszli, schraniał się i odłączał, bojąc się tych, którzy byli z obrzezania.
13 And the rest of the Jewish believers joined him in his hypocrisy; so that even Barnabas was carried away with their hypocrisy.
A wespół z nim obłudnie się obchodzili i drudzy Żydzi, tak że i Barnabasz uwiedziony był tą ich obłudą.
14 But when I saw that they did not walk uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said to Cephas before them all, "If you, being a Jew, live as the non-Jews do, and not as the Jews do, how can you compel the non-Jews to live as the Jews do?
Ale gdym obaczył, iż nie prosto chodzą w prawdzie Ewangielii, rzekłem Piotrowi przed wszystkimi: Ponieważ ty, będąc Żydem, po pogańsku żyjesz a nie po żydowsku, czemuż pogan przymuszasz po żydowsku żyć?
15 "We, being Jews by birth, and not non-Jewish sinners,
My, którzyśmy z przyrodzenia Żydowie a nie z pogan grzesznicy,
16 yet knowing that no one is justified by the works of the law but through faith in Jesus (the) Messiah, even we believed in Messiah Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Messiah, and not by the works of the law, because no flesh will be justified by the works of the law.
Wiedząc, iż nie bywa usprawiedliwiony człowiek z uczynków zakonu, ale przez wiarę w Jezusa Chrystusa, i myśmy w Jezusa Chrystusa uwierzyli, abyśmy byli usprawiedliwieni z wiary Chrystusowej, a nie z uczynków zakonu, przeto że nie będzie usprawiedliwione z uczynków zakonu żadne ciało.
17 But if, while we sought to be justified in Messiah, we ourselves also were found sinners, is Messiah a servant of sin? Certainly not.
A jeźli my szukając, abyśmy byli usprawiedliwieni w Chrystusie, znajdujemy się też grzesznikami, tedyć Chrystus jest sługą grzechu? Nie daj tego Boże!
18 For if I build up again those things which I destroyed, I prove myself a law-breaker.
Albowiem jeźli to, com zburzył, znowu zasię buduję, przestępcą samego siebie czynię.
19 For I, through the law, died to the law, that I might live to God.
Bom ja przez zakon zakonowi umarł, abym żył Bogu.
20 I have been crucified with Messiah, and it is no longer I that live, but Messiah living in me. That life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself up for me.
Z Chrystusem jestem ukrzyżowany, a żyję już nie ja, lecz żyje we mnie Chrystus; a to że teraz w ciele żyję, w wierze Syna Bożego żyję, który mię umiłował i wydał samego siebie za mię.
21 I do not make void the grace of God. For if righteousness is through the law, then Messiah died for nothing."
Nie odrzucam tej łaski Bożej; bo jeźli przez zakon jest sprawiedliwość, tedyć Chrystus próżno umarł.
