Ezekiel 20
1 It happened in the seventh year, in the fifth month, the tenth day of the month, that certain of the elders of Israel came to inquire of the LORD, and sat before me.
En el séptimo año, en el décimo día del mes, sucedió que algunos de los hombres responsables de Israel vinieron a recibir instrucciones del Señor y se sentaron frente a mí.
2 The word of the LORD came to me, saying,
Entonces vino a mí la palabra del Señor, diciendo:
3 "Son of man, speak to the elders of Israel, and tell them, 'Thus says the LORD: "Is it to inquire of me that you have come? As I live, says the LORD, I will not be inquired of by you."'
Hijo de hombre, di a los hombres responsables de Israel: Esto es lo que el Señor ha dicho: ¿Has venido a recibir instrucciones de mí? Por mi vida, dice el Señor, no recibirás instrucciones de mí.
4 Will you judge them, son of man, will you judge them? Cause them to know the abominations of their fathers;
¿Los juzgarás, oh hijo de hombre, los juzgarás? Hazles saber las abominaciones de sus padres,
5 and tell them, 'Thus says the LORD: "In the day when I chose Israel, and swore to the offspring of the house of Jacob, and made myself known to them in the land of Egypt, when I swore to them, saying, 'I am the LORD your God';
Y diles: Esto es lo que ha dicho el Señor su Dios: el día en que escogí a Israel para mí, cuando hice un juramento a la simiente de la familia de Jacob, y les di conocimiento de mí mismo en el tierra de Egipto, diciéndoles con juramento: Yo soy El Señor su Dios;
6 in that day I swore to them, to bring them forth out of the land of Egypt into a land that I had searched out for them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory of all lands.
En ese día di mi juramento de sacarlos de la tierra de Egipto a una tierra que había estado buscando, una tierra que fluye leche y miel, la gloria de todas las tierras.
7 I said to them, 'Cast away every man the abominations of his eyes, and do not defile yourselves with the idols of Egypt; I am the LORD your God.'
Y yo les dije: Que cada uno de ustedes tiren las cosas repugnantes a las que se dirigen sus ojos, y no se contaminen con las imágenes de Egipto; Yo soy el Señor su Dios supremo.
8 But they rebelled against me, and would not listen to me; they each didn't throw away the abominations of their eyes, neither did they forsake the idols of Egypt. Then I said I would pour out my wrath on them, to accomplish my anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt.
Pero ellos se rebelaron contra mí, y no me escucharon; no tiraron las cosas repugnantes a las que estaban dirigidos sus ojos, ni abandonaron las imágenes de Egipto; entonces dije que iba a derramar mi furor para darle pleno efecto a mi ira contra ellos en la tierra de Egipto.
9 But I worked for my name's sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, among which they were, in whose sight I made myself known to them, in bringing them forth out of the land of Egypt.
Y estaba actuando por el honor de mi nombre, para que no quedara mal ante los ojos de las naciones entre las cuales estaban, y ante cuyos ojos les di mi conocimiento, sacándolos de la tierra de egipto.
10 "'"So I caused them to go forth out of the land of Egypt, and brought them into the wilderness.
Entonces los hice salir de la tierra de Egipto y los llevé a la tierra baldía.
11 I gave them my statutes, and showed them my ordinances, which if a man does, he shall live in them.
Les di mis reglas y les dejé claras mis órdenes, que, si un hombre las cumple, serán para él vida.
12 Moreover also I gave them my Sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am the LORD who sanctifies them.
Y además, les di mis sábados, para que fueran una señal entre ellos y yo, para que quede claro que yo, los santifico, soy el Señor.
13 But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness: they didn't walk in my statutes, and they rejected my ordinances, which if a man keep, he shall live in them; and my Sabbaths they greatly profaned. Then I said I would pour out my wrath on them in the wilderness, to consume them.
Pero los hijos de Israel se rebelaron contra mí en la tierra en el desierto; no fueron guiados por mis reglas, y rechazaron mis órdenes, que, si un hombre las cumple, serán para él vida; y no tenían respeto por mis sábados; entonces dije derramaré mi ira contra ellos en el desierto y les pondré fin.
14 But I worked for my name's sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, in whose sight I brought them out.
Y actuaba por el honor de mi nombre, para que no fuera profanado a los ojos de las naciones, que habían visto cómo los había sacado de Egipto.
15 "'"Moreover also I swore to them in the wilderness, that I would not bring them into the land which I had given to them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the most beautiful of all lands;
Y además, les di mi juramento en el desierto, que no los llevaría a la tierra que yo les había dado, una tierra que fluye leche y miel, la gloria de todas las tierras;
16 because they rejected my ordinances, and didn't walk in my statutes, and profaned my Sabbaths: for their heart went after their idols.
Porque rechazaron mis órdenes y no se guiaron por mis reglas, y no respetaron mis sábados, porque sus corazones fueron tras sus imágenes.
17 Nevertheless my eye spared them, and I didn't destroy them, neither did I make a full end of them in the wilderness.
Pero aun así, mi ojo tenía piedad de ellos, los evité de la destrucción y no los destruí por completo en el desierto.
18 "'"I said to their children in the wilderness, 'Do not walk in the statutes of your fathers, neither observe their ordinances, nor defile yourselves with their idols.
Y les dije a sus hijos en el desierto: No se guíen por los estatutos de sus padres, no sigan sus órdenes ni se contaminen con sus imágenes.
19 I am the LORD your God: walk in my statutes, and keep my ordinances, and do them;
Yo soy el Señor su Dios; Anden por mis estatutos y guarden mis estatutos.
20 and make my Sabbaths holy; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that you may know that I am the LORD your God.'
Y santifiquen mis sábados; y serán una señal entre ustedes y yo para que les quede claro que yo soy el Señor, su Dios.
21 But the children rebelled against me; they didn't walk in my statutes, neither kept my ordinances to do them, which if a man do, he shall live in them; and they profaned my Sabbaths. Then I said I would pour out my wrath on them, to accomplish my anger against them in the wilderness.
Pero los hijos de ellos se rebelaron contra mí; no se guiaban por mis reglas, y no las cumplían ni practicaban mis órdenes, que, si un hombre las cumple, serán para él vida; y no tenían ningún respeto por mis sábados, entonces dije descargaré mi ira contra ellos en el desierto para calmar mi furor.
22 Nevertheless I withdrew my hand, and worked for my name's sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, in whose sight I brought them forth.
Y contuve mi mano, por el honor de mi nombre, para que no se profanara a los ojos de las naciones, que habían visto cómo los había sacado.
23 Moreover I swore to them in the wilderness, that I would scatter them among the nations, and disperse them through the countries;
Además, les di mi juramento en el desierto que los enviaría vagando entre las naciones, dispersándolos entre los países;
24 because they had not executed my ordinances, but had rejected my statutes, and had profaned my Sabbaths, and their eyes were after their fathers' idols.
Porque no cumplieron mis mandamientos, sino que rechazaron mis reglas, y no habían respetado mis sábados, y sus ojos estaban dirigidos a las imágenes de sus padres.
25 Moreover also I gave them statutes that were not good, and ordinances in which they should not live;
Y además, les di reglas que no eran buenas y órdenes en las que no había vida para ellos;
26 and I polluted them in their own gifts, in that they caused to pass through the fire all that opens the womb, that I might make them desolate, to the end that they might know that I am the LORD."'
Los hice impuros en las ofrendas que dieron, haciendo que cada primer niño pasara por el fuego, para dejarlos estupefactos; con él propósito de que supieran que yo soy él Señor.
27 "Therefore, son of man, speak to the house of Israel, and tell them, 'Thus says the LORD: "In this moreover have your fathers blasphemed me, in that they have committed a trespass against me.
Por esta causa, hijo de hombre, di a los hijos de Israel: Esto es lo que el Señor Dios ha dicho: En esto tus padres han blasfemado mi nombre al rebelarse contra mí.
28 For when I had brought them into the land, which I swore to give to them, then they saw every high hill, and every thick tree, and they offered there their sacrifices, and there they presented the provocation of their offering; there also they made their pleasant aroma, and they poured out there their drink offerings.
Porque cuando los llevé a la tierra que juré darles, vieron cada colina alta y cada árbol frondoso e hicieron allí sus ofrendas, moviéndome a la ira por sus ofrendas; y allí el dulce olor de sus ofrendas se elevó y sus ofrendas líquidas derramaron.
29 Then I said to them, 'What does the high place where you go mean?' So its name is called Bamah to this day."'
Entonces les dije: ¿Cuál es este lugar alto donde no tienes ningún propósito? Y se llama Bama hasta nuestros días.
30 "Therefore tell the house of Israel, 'Thus says the LORD: "Do you pollute yourselves in the way of your fathers? And do you play the prostitute after their abominations?
Por esta causa, di a los hijos de Israel: Esto es lo que el Señor ha dicho: ¿Porque quieren hacerse inmundos como lo hicieron sus padres? ¿Se prostituyeron tras sus ídolos asquerosos?
31 And when you offer your gifts, when you make your sons to pass through the fire, do you pollute yourselves with all your idols to this day? And shall I be inquired of by you, house of Israel? As I live, says the LORD, I will not be inquired of by you;
Y cuando das tus ofrendas, haciendo que tus hijos pasen por el fuego, se hacen impuros con todas tus imágenes hasta el día de hoy; ¿Y vendrás a mí por direcciones, oh hijos de Israel? Por mi vida, dice el Señor Dios, no obtendrás dirección de mí.
32 and that which comes into your mind shall not be at all, in that you say, 'We will be as the nations, as the families of the countries, to serve wood and stone.'
Y lo que viene a tu mente nunca tendrá lugar; cuando digas, seremos como las naciones, como las familias de los países, que adoran la madera y la piedra;
33 As I live," says the LORD, "surely with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with wrath poured out, will I be king over you:
Por mi vida, dice el Señor, verdaderamente, con una mano fuerte y con el brazo extendido y derramaré ira ardiente, seré rey sobre ustedes:
34 and I will bring you out from the peoples, and will gather you out of the countries in which you are scattered, with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with wrath poured out;
Y te sacaré de los pueblos y te sacaré de los países en los que estás vagando, con una mano fuerte y con el brazo extendido y con la ira ardiente:
35 and I will bring you into the wilderness of the peoples, and there will I enter into judgment with you face to face.
Y te llevaré a la tierra de los pueblos, y allí abordaré la causa contigo cara a cara.
36 Like as I entered into judgment with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so will I enter into judgment with you," says the LORD.
Desde la misma manera que tomé la causa con sus padres en la tierra baldía de la tierra de Egipto, así lo haré con ustedes, dice el Señor.
37 "I will cause you to pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant;
Y te haré pasar por debajo de la vara y los haré pasar por el vínculo del pacto.
38 and I will purge out from among you the rebels, and those who disobey against me; I will bring them forth out of the land where they live, but they shall not enter into the land of Israel: and you shall know that I am the LORD."
Limpiando entre ustedes a todos aquellos rebeldes y que están pecando contra mí; Los sacaré de la tierra donde viven, pero no entrarán en la tierra de Israel y sabrán que yo soy el Señor.
39 "'As for you, house of Israel, thus says the Lord GOD: "Go, serve everyone his idols, and hereafter also, if you will not listen to me; but my holy name you shall no more profane with your gifts, and with your idols.
En cuanto a ustedes, oh hijos de Israel, el Señor Dios ha dicho: vayan y adoren sus ídolos y después ciertamente me escucharan, y que mi santo nombre ya no sea profanado por sus ofrendas y sus imágenes.
40 For in my holy mountain, in the mountain of the height of Israel," says the LORD, "there shall all the house of Israel, all of them, serve me in the land: there will I accept them, and there will I require your offerings, and the first fruits of your offerings, with all your holy things.
Porque en mi santo monte, en el monte alto de Israel, dice el Señor Dios, allí todos los hijos de Israel, todos ellos, serán mis siervos en la tierra; allí los aceptaré, y allí seré adorado con sus ofrendas y los primeros frutos de las cosas que dan, y con todas tus cosas santas.
41 As a pleasant aroma will I accept you, when I bring you out from the peoples, and gather you out of the countries in which you have been scattered; and I will be sanctified in you in the sight of the nations.
Me complaceré en ustedes como dulce olor, cuando los haya sacado de los pueblos y los reúna de los países de los que ahora están dispersos; y me santificaré en ustedes delante de los ojos de las naciones.
42 You shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall bring you into the land of Israel, into the country which I swore to give to your fathers.
Y sabrán que yo soy el Señor, cuando los lleve a la tierra de Israel, al país que juré dar a sus padres.
43 There you shall remember your ways, and all your doings, in which you have polluted yourselves; and you shall loathe yourselves in your own sight for all your evils that you have committed.
Y allí, en la memoria de sus caminos y de todas las cosas que hicieron para hacerse impuros, tendrán un odio amargo por ustedes mismos a causa de todas las cosas malas que han hecho.
44 You shall know that I am the LORD, when I have dealt with you for my name's sake, not according to your evil ways, nor according to your corrupt doings, you house of Israel," says the LORD.'"
Y sabran de que yo soy el Señor, cuando actúe con ustedes por el honor de mi nombre, y no por sus malos caminos o sus obras inmundas, oh hijos de Israel, dice el Señor Dios.
45 The word of the LORD came to me, saying,
Entonces vino a mí la palabra del Señor, diciendo:
46 "Son of man, set your face toward the south, and drop your word toward the south, and prophesy against the forest of the field in the South;
Hijo de hombre, que tu rostro se vuelva hacia el sur, que tus palabras se caigan al sur, y sea un profeta contra el bosque del sur;
47 and tell the forest of the South, 'Hear the word of the LORD: Thus says the LORD, "Look, I will kindle a fire in you, and it shall devour every green tree in you, and every dry tree: the flaming flame shall not be quenched, and all faces from the south to the north shall be burnt thereby.
Y dile al bosque del sur, escucha las palabras del Señor: esto es lo que el Señor ha dicho: Mira, tendré un fuego encendido en ti, para la destrucción de cada árbol verde en ti y todo árbol seco; el fuego arderá y no se apagará, y todas la superficie del sur al norte serán quemadas.
48 All flesh shall see that I, the LORD, have kindled it; it shall not be quenched."'"
Y toda carne verá que yo, el Señor, lo he encendido; no se apagará.
49 Then I said, "Ah, LORD. They say of me, 'Isn't he a speaker of parables?'"
Entonces dije: ¡Ah, Señor Dios! Ellos dicen de mí: ¿No habla este más que parábolas?
