< 2 Samuel 5 >
1 Then all the tribes of Israel came to David at Hebron, saying, "Look, we are your bone and your flesh.
Mafuko onse a Israeli anabwera kwa Davide ku Hebroni ndipo anati, “Ife ndife mafupa ndi mnofu wanu.
2 In times past, when Saul was king over us, it was you who led out and brought in Israel. The LORD said to you, 'You shall be shepherd of my people Israel, and you shall be ruler over Israel.'"
Kale lija, pamene Sauli anali mfumu yathu, inu ndinu amene munkatsogolera Aisraeli pa nkhondo zawo. Ndipo Yehova anakuwuzani kuti, ‘Udzaweta anthu anga Aisraeli, ndipo udzakhala mfumu yawo.’”
3 So all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron; and king David made a covenant with them in Hebron before the LORD; and they anointed David king over Israel.
Akuluakulu onse a Israeli atafika kwa Mfumu Davide ku Hebroni, mfumu inachita nawo pangano ku Hebroni pamaso pa Yehova, ndipo anamudzoza Davide kukhala mfumu ya Israeli.
4 David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years.
Davide anali ndi zaka makumi atatu pamene anakhala mfumu, ndipo analamulira zaka makumi anayi.
5 In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months; and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty-three years over all Israel and Judah.
Analamulira Yuda ali ku Hebroni kwa zaka zisanu ndi ziwiri ndi miyezi isanu ndi umodzi, ndipo ali ku Yerusalemu analamulira Israeli yense ndi Yuda kwa zaka 33.
6 Then the king and his men went to Jerusalem against the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land, who said to David, "You will not get in here." For the blind and the lame incited them, saying, "David can't get in here."
Mfumu ndi ankhondo ake anapita ku Yerusalemu kukathira nkhondo Ayebusi amene ankakhala kumeneko. Ayebusiwo anamuwuza Davide kuti, “Inu simulowa muno. Ngakhale osaona ndi olumala akhoza kukuthamangitsani.” Iwo ankaganiza kuti, “Davide sangathe kulowa momwemo.”
7 Nevertheless, David captured the stronghold of Zion (that is, the City of David).
Komabe Davide analanda linga la Ziyoni, limene ndi mzinda wa Davide.
8 David said on that day, "Whoever strikes the Jebusites, let him get up to the watercourse, and strike the lame and the blind, those who hate the soul of David." Therefore they say, "The blind and the lame can't come into the palace."
Pa tsiku limenelo Davide anati, “Aliyense wogonjetsa Ayebusi ayenera kudzera mʼngalande ya madzi kuti akafike kwa iwo amene ndi ‘olumala ndi osaona,’ amene ndi adani a Davide.” Nʼchifukwa chake amanena kuti, “Olumala ndi osaona sadzalowa mʼnyumba yaufumu.”
9 David lived in the stronghold, and called it the City of David. And he built a city all around from the Millo and inward.
Tsono Davide anakhazikika mu lingamo ndipo mzindawu anawutcha, Mzinda wa Davide. Iye anamanga malo onse ozungulira kuyambira ku matsitso ozungulira khoma.
10 David grew greater and greater; for the LORD of hosts was with him.
Ndipo mphamvu za Davide zinkakulirakulira chifukwa anali ndi Yehova Mulungu Wamphamvuzonse.
11 Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar trees, and craftsmen of wood, and craftsmen of a wall; and they built David a palace.
Tsono Hiramu mfumu ya Turo inatumiza amithenga ake kwa Davide, pamodzi ndi mitengo ya mkungudza ndi amisiri a matabwa ndi amisiri a miyala, ndipo anamumangira Davide nyumba yaufumu.
12 And David knew that the LORD had established him king over Israel, and that he had exalted his kingdom for his people Israel's sake.
Choncho Davide anazindikira kuti Yehova wamukhazikitsa kukhala mfumu ya Israeli ndipo wakuza ufumu wake chifukwa cha anthu ake, Aisraeli.
13 David took more secondary wives and wives out of Jerusalem, after he had come from Hebron; and there were born to David more sons and daughters.
Davide atafika ku Yerusalemu kuchokera ku Hebroni, anakwatira azikazi natenganso akazi ena kumeneko, ndipo anabereka ana aamuna ndi aakazi ambiri.
14 These are the names of those who were born to him in Jerusalem: Shammua, and Shobab, and Nathan, and Solomon,
Mayina a ana amene anabereka ku Yerusalemu ndi awa: Samua, Sobabu, Natani, Solomoni,

17 When the Philistines heard that David had been anointed king over Israel, the Philistines went up to seek David; and David heard of it, and went down to the stronghold.
Afilisti atamva kuti Davide wadzozedwa kukhala mfumu ya Israeli, iwo anapita mwamphamvu kukamusakasaka. Koma Davide atamva zimenezi anakalowa mu linga.
18 Now the Philistines came and spread out in the Valley of Rephaim.
Ndipo Afilisti anabwera ndi kukhala momwazika mʼChigwa cha Refaimu.
19 So David inquired of the LORD, asking, "Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will you deliver them into my hand?" Then the LORD answered David, "Go up, for I will certainly deliver them into your hand."
Davide anafunsa Yehova kuti, “Kodi ndipite kukathira nkhondo Afilisti? Kodi mukawapereka mʼmanja mwanga?” Yehova anamuyankha kuti, “Pita, Ine ndidzawapereka ndithu mʼmanja mwako.”
20 So David came to Baal Perazim, and he defeated them there, and he said, "The LORD has broken through my enemies before me, like a breakthrough of waters." Therefore he called the name of that place Baal Perazim.
Choncho Davide anapita ku Baala-Perazimu ndi kugonjetsa Afilistiwo. Iye anati, “Monga amasefukira madzi, Yehova waphwanya adani anga ine ndikuona.” Choncho anawatcha malowa Baala Perazimu.
21 And they abandoned their idols there; and David and his men took them away.
Afilisti anasiya mafano awo kumeneko ndipo Davide ndi ankhondo ake anawatenga.
22 The Philistines came up yet again, and spread themselves in the Valley of Rephaim.
Nthawi inanso Afilisti anabweranso namwazikana mʼChigwa cha Refaimu;
23 And David inquired of the LORD, and the LORD said to him, "You shall not go up. Circle around behind them, and attack them opposite the poplar trees.
Davide anafunsa Yehova ndipo Yehovayo anayankha kuti, “Usapite molunjika koma uzungulire kumbuyo kwawo ndipo ukawathire nkhondo patsogolo pa mitengo ya mkandankhuku.
24 And it shall be, when you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the poplar trees, that then you are to act decisively; for then the LORD has gone out before you to strike the army of the Philistines."
Mukakangomva phokoso pa msonga za mitengo ya mkandankhuku, mukayende mofulumira, chifukwa izi zikasonyeza kuti Yehova ali patsogolo panu kukantha ankhondo a Afilisti.”
25 And David did as the LORD commanded him, and struck the Philistines from Gibeon all the way to Gezer.
Kotero Davide anachita zimene Yehova anamulamulira ndipo anakantha Afilisti njira yonse kuchokera ku Geba mpaka ku Gezeri.
