2 Kings 15

1 In the twenty-seventh year of Jeroboam king of Israel began Azariah son of Amaziah king of Judah to reign.

ഇസ്രായേൽരാജാവായ യൊരോബെയാമിന്റെ ഇരുപത്തിയേഴാമാണ്ടിൽ യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ അമസ്യാവിന്റെ മകൻ അസര്യാവ് രാജാവായി.

2 Sixteen years old was he when he began to reign; and he reigned fifty-two years in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Jecoliah of Jerusalem.

രാജാവാകുമ്പോൾ അദ്ദേഹത്തിനു പതിനാറുവയസ്സായിരുന്നു. അദ്ദേഹം ജെറുശലേമിൽ അൻപത്തിരണ്ടു വർഷം വാണു. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ അമ്മയ്ക്ക് യെഖൊല്യാ എന്നു പേരായിരുന്നു; അവൾ ജെറുശലേംകാരിയായിരുന്നു.

3 He did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, according to all that his father Amaziah had done.

തന്റെ പിതാവായ അമസ്യാവു ചെയ്തതുപോലെ അദ്ദേഹവും യഹോവയുടെ ദൃഷ്ടിയിൽ നീതിയായതു പ്രവർത്തിച്ചു.

4 However the high places were not taken away: the people still sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places.

എന്നിരുന്നാലും ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങൾ നീക്കംചെയ്യപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നില്ല; ജനങ്ങൾ അവിടെ ബലി അർപ്പിക്കുന്നതും ധൂപാർച്ചന നടത്തുന്നതും തുടർന്നുപോന്നു.

5 The LORD struck the king, so that he was a leper to the day of his death, and lived in a separate house. Jotham the king's son was over the household, judging the people of the land.

എന്നാൽ യഹോവ ഈ രാജാവിനെ മരണപര്യന്തം കുഷ്ഠരോഗത്താൽ പീഡിപ്പിച്ചു. അദ്ദേഹം മറ്റുള്ളവരിൽനിന്നകന്ന് തനിയേ ഒരു പ്രത്യേക ഭവനത്തിൽ താമസിച്ചു. രാജകുമാരനായ യോഥാം കൊട്ടാരത്തിന്റെ ചുമതലയേറ്റു; അദ്ദേഹമായിരുന്നു ദേശത്തു ഭരണംനടത്തിയിരുന്നത്.

6 Now the rest of the acts of Azariah, and all that he did, aren't they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

അസര്യാവിന്റെ ഭരണത്തിലെ മറ്റു സംഭവങ്ങൾ, അദ്ദേഹം ചെയ്ത പ്രവൃത്തികൾ, ഇവയെല്ലാം യെഹൂദാരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ ചരിത്രഗ്രന്ഥങ്ങളിൽ രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടില്ലേ?

7 Azariah slept with his fathers; and they buried him with his fathers in the City of David: and Jotham his son reigned in his place.

അസര്യാവ് നിദ്രപ്രാപിച്ച് തന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോട് ചേർന്നു; ദാവീദിന്റെ നഗരത്തിൽ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ കല്ലറകൾക്കരികെ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ സംസ്കരിച്ചു. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ മകനായ യോഥാം അദ്ദേഹത്തിനുശേഷം രാജാവായി.

8 In the thirty-eighth year of Azariah king of Judah, Zechariah the son of Jeroboam reigned over Israel in Samaria six months.

യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ അസര്യാവിന്റെ മുപ്പത്തിയെട്ടാമാണ്ടിൽ ഇസ്രായേൽരാജാവായ യൊരോബെയാമിന്റെ മകനായ സെഖര്യാവ് ശമര്യയിൽ ഇസ്രായേൽരാജാവായി. അദ്ദേഹം ആറുമാസം വാണു.

9 He did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, as his fathers had done: he did not depart from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, with which he made Israel to sin.

അദ്ദേഹം തന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാർ ചെയ്തിരുന്നതുപോലെ യഹോവയുടെ ദൃഷ്ടിയിൽ തിന്മ പ്രവർത്തിച്ചു. നെബാത്തിന്റെ മകനായ യൊരോബെയാം ഇസ്രായേലിനെക്കൊണ്ടു ചെയ്യിച്ച പാപങ്ങളിൽനിന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം വിട്ടുമാറിയില്ല.

10 Then Shallum the son of Jabesh conspired against him and struck him down at Ibleam and put him to death, and reigned in his place.

യാബേശിന്റെ മകനായ ശല്ലൂം സെഖര്യാവിന് എതിരായി ഗൂഢാലോചന നടത്തി. അയാൾ ജനങ്ങളുടെ മുൻപിൽവെച്ച് സെഖര്യാവിനെ ആക്രമിച്ച് ചതിവിൽ കൊലപ്പെടുത്തി. അതിനുശേഷം ശല്ലൂം അദ്ദേഹത്തിനു പിന്നാലെ രാജാവായി.

11 Now the rest of the acts of Zechariah, look, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

സെഖര്യാവിന്റെ ഭരണത്തിലെ മറ്റു സംഭവങ്ങൾ ഇസ്രായേൽരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ ചരിത്രഗ്രന്ഥങ്ങളിൽ രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

12 This was the word of the LORD which he spoke to Jehu, saying, "Your sons to the fourth generation shall sit on the throne of Israel." So it came to pass.

“നിന്റെ സന്തതികൾ നാലാംതലമുറവരെ ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ രാജസിംഹാസനത്തിൽ വാഴും,” എന്ന് യഹോവ യേഹുവിനോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത വാക്കുകൾ അങ്ങനെ നിറവേറി.

13 Shallum the son of Jabesh began to reign in the thirty-ninth year of Uzziah king of Judah; and he reigned for a month in Samaria.

യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ ഉസ്സീയാവിന്റെ മുപ്പത്തിയൊൻപതാമാണ്ടിൽ യാബേശിന്റെ മകനായ ശല്ലൂം ഇസ്രായേൽരാജാവായി. അദ്ദേഹം ശമര്യയിൽ ഒരുമാസം വാണു.

14 Menahem the son of Gadi went up from Tirzah, and came to Samaria, and struck Shallum the son of Jabesh in Samaria, and killed him, and reigned in his place.

പിന്നെ ഗാദിയുടെ മകനായ മെനഹേം തിർസയിൽനിന്നും ശമര്യയിലേക്കു വന്നു. അയാൾ യാബേശിന്റെ മകനായ ശല്ലൂമിനെ ആക്രമിച്ച് ചതിവിൽ കൊലപ്പെടുത്തി അയാൾക്കുശേഷം രാജാവായി.

15 Now the rest of the acts of Shallum, and his conspiracy which he made, look, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

ശല്ലൂമിന്റെ ഭരണത്തിലെ മറ്റുസംഭവങ്ങളും അദ്ദേഹം നടത്തിയ ഗൂഢാലോചനയും ഇസ്രായേൽരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ ചരിത്രഗ്രന്ഥങ്ങളിൽ രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

16 Then Menahem struck Tiphsah, and all who were in it, and its borders, from Tirzah: because they did not open to him, therefore he struck it; and all the women in it who were with child he ripped up.

അക്കാലത്ത് മെനഹേം തിർസയിൽനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ട് തിപ്സഹിനെയും ആ നഗരത്തിലുള്ള സകലരെയും അതിന്റെ പ്രാന്തപ്രദേശങ്ങളെയും ആക്രമിച്ചു. ആ നഗരവാസികൾ അദ്ദേഹത്തിനുവേണ്ടി നഗരകവാടം തുറന്നു കൊടുക്കാതിരുന്നതിനാൽ അദ്ദേഹം തിപ്സഹുനഗരത്തെ കൊള്ളചെയ്തു നശിപ്പിക്കുകയും അതിലെ ഗർഭിണികളെ കീറിക്കളയുകയും ചെയ്തു.

17 In the nine and thirtieth year of Azariah king of Judah, Menahem the son of Gadi began to reign over Israel for ten years in Samaria.

യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ അസര്യാവിന്റെ മുപ്പത്തിയൊൻപതാമാണ്ടിൽ ഗാദിയുടെ മകനായ മെനഹേം ഇസ്രായേലിനു രാജാവായി; അദ്ദേഹം ശമര്യയിൽ പത്തുവർഷം വാണു.

18 He did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD: he did not depart all his days from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, with which he made Israel to sin.

അദ്ദേഹം യഹോവയുടെ ദൃഷ്ടിയിൽ തിന്മയായതു പ്രവർത്തിച്ചു. നെബാത്തിന്റെ മകനായ യൊരോബെയാം ഇസ്രായേലിനെക്കൊണ്ട് ചെയ്യിച്ച പാപങ്ങളിൽനിന്ന് അയാൾ തന്റെ ഭരണകാലത്ത് ഒരിക്കലും വിട്ടകന്നില്ല.

19 There came against the land Pul the king of Assyria; and Menahem gave Pul one thousand talents of silver, that his hand might be with him to confirm the kingdom in his hand.

അശ്ശൂർരാജാവായ പൂൽ ദേശത്തെ ആക്രമിച്ചു. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ സഹായം നേടുന്നതിനും തന്റെ രാജാധികാരം ഉറപ്പിക്കുന്നതിനുമായി മെനഹേം അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് ആയിരംതാലന്തു വെള്ളി സമ്മാനമായിക്കൊടുത്തു.

20 Menahem exacted the money of Israel, even of all the mighty men of wealth, of each man fifty shekels of silver, to give to the king of Assyria. So the king of Assyria turned back, and did not stay there in the land.

ഈ വെള്ളി മെനഹേം ഇസ്രായേലിൽനിന്നു നിർബന്ധപൂർവം പിരിച്ചെടുത്തു. ഓരോ സമ്പന്നവ്യക്തിയും അശ്ശൂർരാജാവിനു കൊടുക്കുന്നതിന് അൻപതുശേക്കേൽ വെള്ളിവീതം കൊടുക്കണമായിരുന്നു. അങ്ങനെ അശ്ശൂർരാജാവ് ദേശത്തെ ആക്രമിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് അധികനാൾ തങ്ങാതെ പിൻവാങ്ങി.

21 Now the rest of the acts of Menahem, and all that he did, aren't they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

മെനഹേമിന്റെ ഭരണത്തിലെ മറ്റു സംഭവങ്ങൾ, അദ്ദേഹം ചെയ്ത പ്രവൃത്തികൾ ഇവയെക്കുറിച്ചെല്ലാം ഇസ്രായേൽരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ ചരിത്രഗ്രന്ഥങ്ങളിൽ രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടില്ലേ?

22 Menahem slept with his fathers; and Pekahiah his son reigned in his place.

മെനഹേം നിദ്രപ്രാപിച്ച് തന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോട് ചേർന്നു; അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ മകനായ പെക്കഹ്യാവ് അടുത്ത രാജാവായി സ്ഥാനമേറ്റു.

23 In the fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah Pekahiah the son of Menahem began to reign over Israel in Samaria for two years.

യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ അസര്യാവിന്റെ അൻപതാമാണ്ടിൽ മെനഹേമിന്റെ മകനായ പെക്കഹ്യാവ് ശമര്യയിൽ ഇസ്രായേലിനു രാജാവായി; അദ്ദേഹം രണ്ടുവർഷം വാണു.

24 He did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD: he did not depart from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, with which he made Israel to sin.

പെക്കഹ്യാവ് യഹോവയുടെ ദൃഷ്ടിയിൽ തിന്മ പ്രവർത്തിച്ചു. നെബാത്തിന്റെ മകനായ യൊരോബെയാം ഇസ്രായേലിനെക്കൊണ്ടു ചെയ്യിച്ച പാപങ്ങളിൽനിന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം വിട്ടുമാറിയില്ല.

25 Pekah the son of Remaliah, his captain, conspired against him, and struck him in Samaria, in the citadel of the king's house, with Argob and Arieh; and with him were fifty men of the Gileadites: and he killed him, and reigned in his place.

അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പ്രധാനഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥന്മാരിൽ ഒരുവനും രെമല്യാവിന്റെ മകനുമായ പേക്കഹ് അദ്ദേഹത്തിനെതിരേ ഗൂഢാലോചന നടത്തി. അദ്ദേഹം അൻപതു ഗിലെയാദ്യരെ തന്നോടൊപ്പംചേർത്തു ശമര്യയിലെ രാജകൊട്ടാരത്തിന്റെ ഉൾമുറിയിൽവെച്ച് പേക്കഹ്യാവിനെയും അദ്ദേഹത്തോടൊപ്പം അർഗോബിനെയും അർയയെയും ചതിച്ചു കൊലപ്പെടുത്തി.

26 Now the rest of the acts of Pekahiah, and all that he did, look, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

പെക്കഹ്യാവിന്റെ ഭരണത്തിലെ മറ്റുസംഭവങ്ങളും അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ സകലപ്രവൃത്തികളും ഇസ്രായേൽരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ ചരിത്രഗ്രന്ഥങ്ങളിൽ രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

27 In the two and fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah Pekah the son of Remaliah began to reign over Israel in Samaria for twenty years.

യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ അസര്യാവിന്റെ അൻപത്തിരണ്ടാമാണ്ടിൽ രെമല്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ പേക്കഹ് ശമര്യയിൽ ഇസ്രായേലിനു രാജാവായി. അദ്ദേഹം ഇരുപതുവർഷം വാണു.

28 He did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD: he did not depart from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, with which he made Israel to sin.

അദ്ദേഹം യഹോവയുടെ ദൃഷ്ടിയിൽ തിന്മ പ്രവർത്തിച്ചു. നെബാത്തിന്റെ മകനായ യൊരോബെയാം ഇസ്രായേലിനെക്കൊണ്ടു ചെയ്യിച്ച പാപങ്ങളിൽനിന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം പിന്തിരിഞ്ഞില്ല.

29 In the days of Pekah king of Israel came Tiglath Pileser king of Assyria, and took Ijon, and Abel Beth Maacah, and Janoah, and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Gilead, and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali; and he carried them captive to Assyria.

ഇസ്രായേൽരാജാവായ പേക്കഹിന്റെകാലത്ത് അശ്ശൂർരാജാവായ തിഗ്ലത്ത്-പിലേസർ വന്ന് ഈയോനും ആബേൽ-ബേത്ത്-മാക്കായും യാനോഹും കേദേശും ഹാസോരും ഗിലെയാദും ഗലീലായും നഫ്താലിദേശം മുഴുവനും കൈവശപ്പെടുത്തി. അദ്ദേഹം അവിടങ്ങളിലെ നിവാസികളെ അശ്ശൂരിലേക്കു കടത്തിക്കൊണ്ടുപോയി.

30 Hoshea the son of Elah made a conspiracy against Pekah the son of Remaliah, and struck him, and killed him, and reigned in his place, in the twentieth year of Jotham the son of Uzziah.

പിന്നെ ഏലാവിന്റെ മകനായ ഹോശേയ, രെമല്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ പേക്കഹിനെതിരേ ഗൂഢാലോചന നടത്തി. അദ്ദേഹം പേക്കഹിനെ ആക്രമിച്ച് ചതിവിൽ കൊലപ്പെടുത്തി. അങ്ങനെ ഉസ്സീയാവിന്റെ മകനായ യോഥാമിന്റെ ഇരുപതാമാണ്ടിൽ ഹോശേയ പേക്കഹിന്റെ അനന്തരാവകാശി എന്നനിലയിൽ രാജാവായി.

31 Now the rest of the acts of Pekah, and all that he did, look, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

പേക്കഹിന്റെ ഭരണത്തിലെ മറ്റു സംഭവങ്ങൾ, അയാൾ ചെയ്ത പ്രവൃത്തികൾ, ഇവയെല്ലാം ഇസ്രായേൽരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ ചരിത്രഗ്രന്ഥങ്ങളിൽ രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടില്ലേ?

32 In the second year of Pekah the son of Remaliah king of Israel began Jotham the son of Uzziah king of Judah to reign.

ഇസ്രായേൽരാജാവും രെമല്യാവിന്റെ മകനുമായ പേക്കഹിന്റെ രണ്ടാമാണ്ടിൽ യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ ഉസ്സീയാവിന്റെ മകനായ യോഥാം ഭരണം തുടങ്ങി.

33 He was twenty-five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Jerusha the daughter of Zadok.

രാജാവാകുമ്പോൾ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് ഇരുപത്തിയഞ്ചു വയസ്സായിരുന്നു. അദ്ദേഹം പതിനാറുവർഷം ജെറുശലേമിൽ വാണു. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ അമ്മ സാദോക്കിന്റെ മകളായ യെരൂശാ ആയിരുന്നു.

34 He did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD; he did according to all that his father Uzziah had done.

തന്റെ പിതാവായ ഉസ്സീയാവു ചെയ്തിരുന്നതുപോലെ അദ്ദേഹവും യഹോവയുടെ ദൃഷ്ടിയിൽ നീതിയായുള്ളതു പ്രവർത്തിച്ചു.

35 However the high places were not taken away: the people still sacrificed and burned incense in the high places. He built the Upper Gate of the house of the LORD.

എന്നിരുന്നാലും ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങൾ നീക്കംചെയ്യപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നില്ല; ജനങ്ങൾ അവിടെ ബലി അർപ്പിക്കുന്നതും ധൂപാർച്ചന നടത്തുന്നതും തുടർന്നുപോന്നു. യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലേക്കുള്ള മുകളിലത്തെ കവാടം യോഥാം പുതുക്കിപ്പണിതു.

36 Now the rest of the acts of Jotham, and all that he did, aren't they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

യോഥാമിന്റെ ഭരണത്തിലെ മറ്റുസംഭവങ്ങളും അദ്ദേഹം ചെയ്ത പ്രവൃത്തികളുമെല്ലാം യെഹൂദാരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ ചരിത്രഗ്രന്ഥങ്ങളിൽ രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടില്ലേ?

37 In those days the LORD began to send against Judah Rezin the king of Aram, and Pekah the son of Remaliah.

(ആ കാലത്ത് അരാംരാജാവായ രെസീനെയും രെമല്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ പേക്കഹിനെയും യഹോവ യെഹൂദയ്ക്കെതിരേ അയച്ചുതുടങ്ങി.)

38 Jotham slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the City of David his father: and Ahaz his son reigned in his place.

യോഥാം നിദ്രപ്രാപിച്ച് തന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോട് ചേർന്നു. തന്റെ പിതാവായ ദാവീദിന്റെ നഗരത്തിൽ അദ്ദേഹവും അവരോടുകൂടി അടക്കപ്പെട്ടു. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ മകനായ ആഹാസ് തുടർന്നു രാജാവായി.
