2 Chronicles 17
1 Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his place, and strengthened himself against Israel.
És királlyá lett fia Jehósáfát helyette, és megerősödött Izrael ellen.
2 He placed forces in all the fortified cities of Judah, and set garrisons in the land of Judah, and in the cities of Ephraim, which Asa his father had taken.
És sereget tett mind a Jehúda erősített városaiba és őrsöket tett Jehúda országába és Efraim városaiba, amelyeket atyja Ásza elfoglalt.
3 The LORD was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the first ways of his father, and did not seek the Baals,
És volt az Örökkévaló Jehósáfáttal, mert atyjának Dávidnak korábbi útjai szerint járt és nem kereste a Báalokat,
4 but sought to the God of his father, and walked in his commandments, and not after the doings of Israel.
hanem atyjának Istenét kereste s az ő parancsolatai szerint járt s nem Izrael cselekedete szerint.
5 Therefore the LORD established the kingdom in his hand; and all Judah brought to Jehoshaphat tribute; and he had riches and honor in abundance.
És megszilárdította az Örökkévaló az uralmat a kezében s adott egész Jehúda ajándékot Jehósáfátnak; és volt neki gazdagsága és tisztelete bőven.
6 His heart was lifted up in the ways of the LORD: and furthermore he took away the high places and the Asherim out of Judah.
És midőn emelkedett a szíve az Örökkévaló útjain, még eltávolította a magaslatokat és a szent fákat Jehúdából.
7 Also in the third year of his reign he sent his officials, even Ben Hail, and Obadiah, and Zechariah, and Nethanel, and Micaiah, to teach in the cities of Judah;
És uralkodása harmadik évében küldte nagyjait: Ben Chajilt, Óbadját, Zekharját, Netanélt és Mikhájáhút, hogy tanítsanak Jehúda városaiban.
8 and with them the Levites, even Shemaiah, and Nethaniah, and Zebadiah, and Asahel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehonathan, and Adonijah, and Tobijah, and Tobadonijah, the Levites; and with them Elishama and Jehoram, the priests.
És velük voltak a leviták: Semájáhú, Netanjáhú, Zebadjáhú, Aszáel, Semírámót, Jehónátán, Adónijáhú, Tóbijáhú és Tób-Adónija, a leviták; és velük voltak Elísámá és Jehorám, a papok.
9 They taught in Judah, having the scroll of the law of the LORD with them; and they went about throughout all the cities of Judah, and taught among the people.
És tanítottak Jehúdában, midőn is velük volt az Örökkévaló tanának könyve; és körüljártak mind a Jehúda városaiban és tanítottak a nép között.
10 The fear of the LORD fell on all the kingdoms of the lands that were around Judah, so that they made no war against Jehoshaphat.
És volt az Örökkévaló rettegése mind az országok birodalmain, amelyek Jehúda körül voltak, és nem harcoltak Jehósáfáttal.
11 Some of the Philistines brought Jehoshaphat presents, and silver for tribute; the Arabians also brought him flocks, seven thousand and seven hundred rams, and seven thousand and seven hundred male goats.
És a filiszteusok közül hoztak Jehósáfátnak ajándékot és ezüstöt adóképen; az arabok is hoztak neki juhokat, kosokat, hétezerhétszázat, és bakokat hétezerhétszázat.
12 Jehoshaphat grew great exceedingly; and he built in Judah fortresses and cities of store.
Így egyre nagyobb lett Jehósáfát, felette nagy; és épített Jehúdában várakat és éléstár városokat.
13 He had many works in the cities of Judah; and men of war, mighty men of valor, in Jerusalem.
És nagy gazdasága volt neki Jehúda városaiban, és harcosai, derék vitézek, Jeruzsálemben.
14 This was the numbering of them according to their fathers' houses: Of Judah, the captains of thousands: Adnah the captain, and with him mighty men of valor three hundred thousand;
És ez a megszámlálásuk atyái házaik szerint: Jehúdából mint ezrek vezérei, Adna a vezér és vele derék vitézek: háromszázezren.
15 and next to him Jehohanan the captain, and with him two hundred eighty thousand;
És mellette Jehóchánán, a vezér, s vele kétszáznyolcvanezren.
16 and next to him Amasiah the son of Zikri, who willingly offered himself to the LORD; and with him two hundred thousand mighty men of valor.
És mellette Amaszja, Zikhri fia, aki fölajánlotta magát az Örökkévalónak; és vele kétszázezer derék vitéz.
17 Of Benjamin: Eliada a mighty man of valor, and with him two hundred thousand armed with bow and shield;
És Benjáminból a derék vitéz, Éljádá; és vele íjjal és pajzzsal fegyverzettek kétszázezren.
18 and next to him Jehozabad and with him one hundred eighty thousand ready prepared for war.
És mellette Jehózábád; s vele száznyolcvanezren hadra készen.
19 These were those who waited on the king, besides those whom the king put in the fortified cities throughout all Judah.
Ezek voltak, akik a királynál szolgálatot tettek azokon kívül, akiket a király az erősített városokba tett egész Jehúdában.
