< 1 Timothy 2 >
1 I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings, be made for all people:
ⲁ̅ϯⲡⲁⲣⲁⲕⲁⲗⲉⲓ ϭⲉ ϩⲁⲑⲏ ⲛϩⲱⲃ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲧⲛⲉⲓⲣⲉ ⲛϩⲉⲛⲥⲟⲡⲥ ⲙⲛ ϩⲉⲛϣⲗⲏⲗ ⲙⲛ ϩⲉⲛⲧⲱⲃϩ ⲙⲛ ϩⲉⲛϣⲡϩⲙⲟⲧ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉϫⲛ ⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲛⲓⲙ
2 for kings and all who are in high places; that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence.
ⲃ̅ⲉϫⲛ ⲛⲉⲣⲣⲱⲟⲩ ⲙⲛ ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲧϩⲛ ⲙⲙⲛⲧⲛⲟϭ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉⲛⲉⲉⲓⲣⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲁϩⲉ ⲉϥⲥϭ ⲣⲁϩⲧ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉϥϩⲟⲣⲕ ϩⲛ ⲙⲛⲧⲉⲩⲥⲉⲃⲏⲥ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲙⲛ ⲧⲙⲛⲧⲥⲉⲙⲛⲟⲥ
3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior;
ⲅ̅ⲛⲁⲛⲟⲩ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲁⲩⲱ ϥϣⲏⲡ ⲙⲡⲉⲙⲧⲟ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲡⲉⲛⲥⲱⲧⲏⲣ
4 who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth.
ⲇ̅ⲡⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲉϣⲧⲣⲉ ⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲱⲛϩ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲥⲉⲉⲓ ⲉⲡⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲛⲧⲙⲉ
5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and humanity, a human, Messiah Jesus,
ⲉ̅ⲟⲩⲁ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲟⲩⲁ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲙⲉⲥⲓⲧⲏⲥ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲡⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲡⲉⲭⲥ ⲓⲏⲥ
6 who gave himself as a ransom for all; the testimony in its own times;
ⲋ̅ⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲧⲁⲁϥ ⲛⲥⲱⲧⲉ ϩⲁ ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲡⲙⲛⲧⲣⲉ ϩⲛ ⲛⲉϥⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓϣ
7 to which I was appointed a preacher and an apostle (I am telling the truth, I am not lying), a teacher of the non-Jews in faith and truth.
ⲍ̅ⲡⲁⲓ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩⲕⲁⲁⲧ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲛⲕⲏⲣⲩⲝ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲁⲡⲟⲥⲧⲟⲗⲟⲥ ⲟⲩⲙⲉ ⲧⲉϯϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛϯϫⲓϭⲟⲗ ⲁⲛ ⲛⲥⲁϩ ⲛⲛϩⲉⲑⲛⲟⲥ ϩⲛ ⲧⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲙⲛ ⲧⲙⲉ
8 I desire therefore that the men in every place pray, lifting up holy hands without anger and doubting.
ⲏ̅ϯⲟⲩⲱϣ ϭⲉ ⲉⲧⲣⲉ ⲛⲣⲱⲙⲉ ϣⲗⲏⲗ ϩⲙ ⲙⲁ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲩϥⲓ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲛⲛⲉⲩϭⲓϫ ⲉⲩⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ ⲭⲱⲣⲓⲥ ⲟⲣⲅⲏ ϩⲓ ⲙⲟⲕⲙⲉⲕ
9 In the same way, that women also adorn themselves in decent clothing, with modesty and propriety; not just with braided hair, gold, pearls, or expensive clothing;
ⲑ̅ⲛⲉϩⲓⲟⲙⲉ ⲟⲛ ⲛⲧⲉⲉⲓϩⲉ ⲉⲩⲕⲟⲥⲙⲓ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲥϭⲣⲉϩⲧ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲙⲛⲧⲣⲉϥϣⲓⲡⲉ ⲙⲛ ⲟⲩⲙⲛⲧⲣⲙⲛϩⲏⲧ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲩⲧⲥⲁⲛⲟⲟⲩ ϩⲛ ϩⲉⲛϩⲱⲗⲕ ⲁⲛ ⲙⲛ ⲟⲩⲛⲟⲩⲃ ⲁⲩⲱ ϩⲉⲛⲉⲛⲉ ⲙⲙⲉ ⲙⲛ ϩⲉⲛϩⲟⲓⲧⲉ ⲉⲛⲁϣⲉ ⲥⲟⲩⲛⲧⲟⲩ
10 but (which becomes women professing godliness) with good works.
ⲓ̅ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲡⲉⲧⲉϣϣⲉ ⲉⲛⲉϩⲓⲟⲙⲉ ⲉⲧϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲉⲛϩⲛⲟⲩⲙⲛⲧⲣⲉϥϣⲙϣⲉ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ϩⲓⲧⲛ ϩⲉⲛϩⲃⲏⲩⲉ ⲉⲛⲁⲛⲟⲩⲟⲩ
11 Let a woman learn in quietness with all subjection.
ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ⲧⲉⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ ⲙⲁⲣⲉⲥϫⲓⲥⲃⲱ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲙⲛⲧⲣⲙⲣⲁϣ ϩⲣⲁⲓ ϩⲛ ϩⲩⲡⲟⲧⲁⲅⲏ ⲛⲓⲙ
12 But I do not permit a woman to teach, nor to exercise authority over a man, but to be in quietness.
ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ⲛϯϯⲙⲁ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲛ ⲛⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ ⲉϯ ⲥⲃⲱ ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⲉⲣϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲉⲡⲉⲥϩⲁⲓ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲥϣⲱⲡⲉ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲙⲛⲧⲣⲙⲣⲁϣ
13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ⲁⲇⲁⲙ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩⲡⲗⲁⲥⲥⲉ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲛϣⲟⲣⲡ ⲙⲛⲛⲥⲱϥ ⲉⲩϩⲁ
14 Adam was not deceived, but the woman, being deceived, has fallen into disobedience;
ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲇⲁⲙ ⲙⲡⲟⲩⲁⲡⲁⲧⲁ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲧⲉⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲟⲩⲁⲡⲁⲧⲁ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲁⲥϣⲱⲡⲉ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲡⲁⲣⲁⲃⲁⲥⲓⲥ
15 but she will be delivered through the childbirth, if they continue in faith and love and holiness, with self-control.
ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ⲥⲛⲁⲟⲩϫⲁⲓ ⲇⲉ ϩⲓⲧⲙ ⲡⲉϫⲡⲉ ϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲉⲩϣⲁⲛϭⲱ ϩⲛ ⲧⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲙⲛ ⲧⲁⲅⲁⲡⲏ ⲙⲛ ⲡⲧⲃⲃⲟ ⲙⲛ ⲟⲩⲙⲛⲧⲣⲙⲛϩⲏⲧ
