1 Samuel 20
1 Then David fled from the dwellings at Ramah, and came before Jonathan and said, "What have I done? What is my iniquity? What is my sin before your father, that he seeks my life?"
ದಾವೀದನು ರಾಮದ ನಯೋತಿನಿಂದ ಓಡಿಹೋಗಿ ಯೋನಾತಾನನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು, ಅವನ ಮುಂದೆ, “ನಾನು ಏನು ಮಾಡಿದೆನು? ನನ್ನ ಅಕ್ರಮವೇನು? ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯು ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕುವ ಹಾಗೆ ನಾನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದ ದ್ರೋಹವೇನು?” ಎಂದನು.
2 He said to him, "Far from it; you shall not die. Look, my father does nothing either great or small, but that he discloses it to me; and why should my father hide this thing from me? It is not so."
ಯೋನಾತಾನನು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಅದು ಆಗಬಾರದು. ನೀನು ಸಾಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯು ನನಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸದೆ ಯಾವ ಚಿಕ್ಕ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನಾದರೂ, ದೊಡ್ಡ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನಾದರೂ ಮಾಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಯಾತಕ್ಕೆ ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯು ನನಗೆ ಬಚ್ಚಿಟ್ಟನು? ಹಾಗೆ ಆಗದು,” ಎಂದನು.
3 And David answered and said, "Your father knows well that I have found favor in your eyes; and he says, 'Do not let Jonathan know this, lest he be grieved:' but truly as the LORD lives, and as your soul lives, there is but a step between me and death."
ದಾವೀದನು ಪ್ರಮಾಣಮಾಡಿ, “ನಿನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣು ಮುಂದೆ ನನಗೆ ದಯೆ ದೊರಕಿತೆಂದು ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯು ನಿಶ್ಚಲವಾಗಿ ಬಲ್ಲನು. ಆದಕಾರಣ ಅವನು ಯೋನಾತಾನನು ವ್ಯಥೆಪಡದ ಹಾಗೆ, ‘ಅವನು ಇದನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಯಬಾರದು,’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ. ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಾಣೆ, ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣದಾಣೆ, ನನಗೂ ಮರಣಕ್ಕೂ ಒಂದು ಹೆಜ್ಜೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ದೂರ ಇದೆ,” ಎಂದನು.
4 Then Jonathan said to David, "Whatever your soul desires, I will do for you."
ಆಗ ಯೋನಾತಾನನು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ, “ನಿನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವು ಏನೇನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತದೋ, ನಿನಗೋಸ್ಕರ ನಾನು ಅದನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವೆನು,” ಎಂದನು.
5 So David said to Jonathan, "Look, tomorrow is the new moon, and I should not fail to sit with the king to eat. Instead, let me go so that I may hide myself in the field until evening.
ದಾವೀದನು ಯೋನಾತಾನನಿಗೆ, “ನಾಳೆ ಅಮಾವಾಸ್ಯೆ, ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ನಾನು ಅರಸನ ಸಂಗಡ ಪಂಕ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಊಟ ಮಾಡಲೇ ಬೇಕಾಗಿರುವುದು. ನಾನು ಮೂರನೆಯ ದಿವಸದ ಸಾಯಂಕಾಲದವರೆಗೆ ಹೊಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಚ್ಚಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡಿರಲು, ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಹೋಗಗೊಡಿಸು.
6 If your father missed me at all, then say, 'David urgently requested of me that he might run to Bethlehem his city, for it is the yearly sacrifice there for all the family.'
ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯು ನಾನು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಇಲ್ಲದಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಕಂಡು, ಶ್ರದ್ಧೆಯಿಂದ ವಿಚಾರಿಸಿ ಅವನು ಎಲ್ಲಿ? ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದರೆ, ‘ದಾವೀದನು ತನ್ನ ಊರಾದ ಬೇತ್ಲೆಹೇಮಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಬೇಕೆಂದು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ಬೇಡಿಕೊಂಡನು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ತನ್ನ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಕುಟುಂಬಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ವರುಷದ ಯಜ್ಞ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ,’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳು.
7 If he says, 'It is well;' your servant shall have peace: but if he be angry, then know that evil is determined by him.
ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವನು, ‘ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದು,’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರೆ, ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನಿಗೆ ಸಮಾಧಾನವಾಗಿರುವುದು. ಅವನು ಬಹಳ ಕೋಪ ಮಾಡಿದರೆ, ಅವನಿಂದ ಕೇಡು ಸಿದ್ಧವಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿದುಕೋ.
8 Therefore deal kindly with your servant; for you have brought your servant into a covenant of the LORD with you: but if there is iniquity in me, kill me yourself; for why should you bring me to your father?"
ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನ ಮೇಲೆ ದಯೆ ತೋರಿಸಬೇಕು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೀಯಲ್ಲಾ. ಆದರೂ ನನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಅಕ್ರಮವಿದ್ದರೆ, ನೀನೇ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕು. ನನ್ನನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುವುದು ಏಕೆ?” ಎಂದನು.
9 Jonathan said, "Far be it from you; for if I should at all know that evil were determined by my father to come on you, then wouldn't I tell you that?"
ಆಗ ಯೋನಾತಾನನು, “ಅದು ನಿನಗೆ ದೂರವಾಗಿರಲಿ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನಿನಗೆ ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯಿಂದ ಕೇಡು ಸಿದ್ಧವಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ, ನಾನು ಅದನ್ನು ನಿನಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸದೆ ಇರುವೆನೋ?” ಎಂದನು.
10 Then David said to Jonathan, "Who will tell me if your father answers you harshly?"
ದಾವೀದನು ಯೋನಾತಾನನಿಗೆ, “ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯು ನಿನಗೆ ಕಠಿಣವಾದ ಉತ್ತರ ಹೇಳಿದರೆ, ಅದನ್ನು ನನಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸುವವರು ಯಾರು?” ಎಂದನು.
11 Jonathan said to David, "Come, and let us go out into the field." They both went out into the field.
ಆಗ ಯೋನಾತಾನನು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ, “ನಾವು ಹೊಲಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗೋಣ ಬಾ,” ಎಂದನು. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಅವರಿಬ್ಬರೂ ಹೊಲಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊರಟು ಹೋದರು.
12 Jonathan said to David, "The LORD, the God of Israel, is witness. When I have studied my father, about this time tomorrow, or the third day, look, if there is good toward David, shall I not then send to you, and disclose it to you?
ಯೋನಾತಾನನು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ, “ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರೇ, ನಾನು ನಾಳೆ ನಾಡಿದ್ದರೊಳಗೆ ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯನ್ನು ವಿಚಾರಿಸಲು, ದಾವೀದನ ಮೇಲೆ ದಯೆ ಇದ್ದರೆ ನಿನಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಹೇಳಿಕಳುಹಿಸದೆ ಇದ್ದರೆ, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಯೋನಾತಾನನಿಗೆ ಅದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಅಧಿಕವಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಲಿ.
13 But should it please my father to do you harm, God do so to Jonathan and more also if I do not let you know and send you away, that you may go in safety. And may the LORD be with you, as he has been with my father.
ಆದರೆ ನಿನಗೆ ಕೇಡು ಮಾಡಲು ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಗೆ ಮನಸ್ಸಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ, ಅದನ್ನು ನಿನಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿ ನೀನು ಸಮಾಧಾನದಿಂದ ಹೋಗುವಹಾಗೆ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸುವೆನು. ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇರಲಿ.
14 And if I am still alive, deal loyally with me. But if I die,
ಆದರೆ ನಾನು ಇನ್ನೂ ಬದುಕುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ ನಾನು ಸಾಯದ ಹಾಗೆ ನೀನು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ದಯೆಯನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ತೋರಿಸಿಬೇಕಾದದ್ದಲ್ಲದೆ,
15 do not cut off your loyalty from my house forever. And when the LORD cuts off the enemies of David, each one from the face of the earth,
ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ದಾವೀದನ ಶತ್ರುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನೂ ಇಲ್ಲದ ಹಾಗೆ ಭೂಮಿಯಿಂದ ತೆಗೆದುಬಿಟ್ಟಾಗ, ಎಂದಿಗೂ ನಿನ್ನ ದಯೆಯನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಮನೆಯಿಂದ ತೆಗೆದುಹಾಕಬಾರದು,” ಎಂದನು.
16 if the name of Jonathan be cut off from the house of David, then may the LORD require it at the hand of the enemies of David."
ಹೀಗೆಯೇ ಯೋನಾತಾನನು ದಾವೀದನ ಸಂಗಡ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು, “ಅಗಲಿದರೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರೇ ಶತ್ರುಗಳ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ ಮುಯ್ಯಿ ತೀರಿಸಲಿ,” ಎಂದನು.
17 And Jonathan swore to David again, because he loved him, for he loved him as he loved his own soul.
ಯೋನಾತಾನನು ದಾವೀದನನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಮಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ, ಅವನಿಂದ ತಿರುಗಿ ಪ್ರಮಾಣ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡನು. ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಮಾಡಿದ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ, ಅವನನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಮಾಡಿದನು.
18 Then Jonathan said, "Tomorrow is the new moon: and you will be missed, because your seat will be empty.
ಯೋನಾತಾನನು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ, “ನಾಳೆ ಅಮಾವಾಸ್ಯೆ; ನೀನು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಇಲ್ಲದಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ನಿನ್ನ ಸ್ಥಳವು ಬರಿದಾಗಿರುವುದು.
19 On the third day you should go down quickly, and come to the place where you hid yourself when this started, and stay by that mound.
ನೀನು ಮೂರು ದಿವಸ ತಡೆದ ತರುವಾಯ, ಕೆಲಸವು ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ ನೀನು ಬಚ್ಚಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ತ್ವರೆಯಾಗಿ ತಿರುಗಿಬಂದು, ಏಜಲ್ ಎಂಬ ಕಲ್ಲಿನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳಿತಿರು.
20 And as for me, on the third day I will shoot arrows to its side, aiming it toward a target.
ಆಗ ನಾನು ಗುರಿಯಿಟ್ಟವನ ಹಾಗೆ ಅದರ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಮೂರು ಬಾಣಗಳನ್ನು ಎಸೆಯುವೆನು.
21 Look, I will send the boy, saying, 'Go, find the arrows.' If I tell the boy, 'Look, the arrow is on this side of you. Take it;' then come; for there is peace to you and no hurt, as the LORD lives.
ಅನಂತರ ಹುಡುಗನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ, ‘ಆ ಬಾಣಗಳನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕಿಕೊಂಡು ಬಾ,’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುವೆನು. ‘ಆ ಬಾಣಗಳು ನಿನಗೆ ಈಚೆ ಬಿದ್ದಿವೆ, ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಾ,’ ಎಂದು ನಾನು ಹುಡುಗನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದರೆ, ನೀನು ಬರಬಹುದು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಾಣೆ, ನಿನಗೆ ಕೇಡಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಸಮಾಧಾನವಿರುವುದು.
22 But if I say this to the boy, 'Look, the arrow is beyond you;' then go your way; for the LORD has sent you away.
ಆದರೆ, ‘ಇಗೋ, ಬಾಣಗಳು ನಿನ್ನ ಆಚೆ ಬಿದ್ದಿವೆ,’ ಎಂದು ಹುಡುಗನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದರೆ, ಹೊರಟು ಹೋಗು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ದೂರ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದರು.
23 Concerning the matter which you and I have spoken of, look, the LORD is a witness between you and me forever."
ನಾನೂ, ನೀನೂ ಮಾತನಾಡಿಕೊಂಡ ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನನಗೂ, ನಿನಗೂ ಮಧ್ಯೆ ಎಂದೆಂದಿಗೂ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಾಗಿರುವರು,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
24 So David hid himself in the field. And when the new moon had come, the king sat at the table to eat.
ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ದಾವೀದನು ಹೊಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಚ್ಚಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದನು. ಅಮಾವಾಸ್ಯೆಯಾದಾಗ ಅರಸನು ಭೋಜನವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಲು ಕುಳಿತನು.
25 The king sat on his seat, as at other times, even on the seat by the wall; and Jonathan sat opposite, and Abner sat by Saul's side: but David's place was empty.
ಅರಸನು ಎಂದಿನಂತೆ ಗೋಡೆಯ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವ ತನ್ನ ಆಸನದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕುಳಿತಾಗ, ಯೋನಾತಾನನು ಎದ್ದನು ಆದರೆ ಅಬ್ನೇರನು ಸೌಲನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳಿತನು. ದಾವೀದನು ಇರುವ ಸ್ಥಳವು ಬರಿದಾಗಿತ್ತು.
26 Nevertheless Saul did not say anything that day: for he thought, "Something has happened to him. He is not clean. Surely he is not clean."
ಆದರೂ ಸೌಲನು ಆ ದಿವಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ಏನೂ ಹೇಳದೆ, “ಅವನಿಗೆ ಏನಾದರೂ ಸಂಭವಿಸಿರಬೇಕು; ಅವನು ಅಶುಚಿಯಾಗಿರಬಹುದು; ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ಅಶುಚಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿಕೊಂಡನು.
27 It happened on the next day after the new moon, the second day, that David's place was empty. Saul said to Jonathan his son, "Why hasn't the son of Jesse come to the table, either yesterday or today?"
ಅಮಾವಾಸ್ಯೆಯ ಮಾರನೆಯ ದಿವಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಂದರೆ ತಿಂಗಳಿನ ಎರಡನೆಯ ದಿವಸದಲ್ಲಿ ದಾವೀದನು ಕೂಡುವ ಸ್ಥಳವು ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಬರಿದಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಸೌಲನು, “ಇಷಯನ ಮಗನು ನಿನ್ನೆಯೂ ಈ ಹೊತ್ತೂ ಭೋಜನಕ್ಕೆ ಏಕೆ ಬರಲಿಲ್ಲ?” ಎಂದು ತನ್ನ ಪುತ್ರನಾದ ಯೋನಾತಾನನನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದನು.
28 Jonathan answered Saul, and said, "David earnestly asked leave of me to go to Bethlehem.
ಯೋನಾತಾನನು ಸೌಲನಿಗೆ ಉತ್ತರವಾಗಿ, “ಬೇತ್ಲೆಹೇಮಿನವರೆಗೂ ಹೋಗಿ ಬರಲು ದಾವೀದನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ಬೇಡಿಕೊಂಡನು.
29 He said, 'Please let me go, for our family has a sacrifice in the city. And as for me, my brothers have ordered me to be there. Now, if I have found favor in your eyes, please let me go away and see my brothers.' Therefore he has not come to the king's table."
ಅವನು ನನಗೆ, ‘ದಯಮಾಡಿ ನನಗೆ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಕೊಡು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಊರೊಳಗೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಕುಟುಂಬಕ್ಕೆ ಯಜ್ಞ ಮಾಡುವುದಿದೆ. ನನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರರು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಬರಲು ಹೇಳಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದರು. ಈಗ ನಿನ್ನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನನಗೆ ದಯೆ ದೊರಕಿದರೆ, ನಾನು ಅಪ್ಪಣೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ನನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರರನ್ನು ಕಾಣುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತೇನೆ,’ ಎಂದನು. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ಅರಸನ ಮೇಜಿಗೆ ಬರಲಿಲ್ಲ,” ಎಂದನು.
30 Then Saul's anger flared up at Jonathan, and he said to him, "You son of a rebellious slave girl, don't I know that you are the companion of the son of Jesse, to your own disgrace, and to the disgrace of your mother's nakedness?
ಆಗ ಸೌಲನು ಯೋನಾತಾನನ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೋಪಗೊಂಡು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ವಕ್ರವಾಗಿ ಎದುರು ಬೀಳುವ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯ ಮಗನೇ, ನಿನಗೆ ನಾಚಿಕೆಯಾಗುವ ಹಾಗೆಯೂ, ಇಷಯನ ಮಗನನ್ನು ನೀನು ಆರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೀ ಎಂದು ನಾನರಿಯೆನೋ? ಇದರಿಂದ ನಿನಗೂ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಹೆತ್ತವಳಿಗೂ ಅಸಹ್ಯವಾಗುವುದು.
31 For as long as the son of Jesse lives on the earth, your kingdom will not be established. Therefore now send and bring him to me, for he shall surely die."
ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಇಷಯನ ಮಗನು ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಬದುಕುವ ದಿವಸಗಳವರೆಗೂ ನೀನಾದರೂ, ನಿನ್ನ ರಾಜ್ಯವಾದರೂ ಸ್ಥಿರವಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಈಗ ನೀನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕರೆಕಳುಹಿಸಿ, ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಾ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವನು ನಿಜವಾಗಿ ಸಾಯಲೇಬೇಕು,” ಎಂದನು.
32 But Jonathan answered Saul, "Why should he be put to death? What has he done?"
ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೋನಾತಾನನು ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆ ಸೌಲನಿಗೆ ಉತ್ತರವಾಗಿ, “ಅವನನ್ನು ಏಕೆ ಕೊಲೆಮಾಡಬೇಕು? ಅವನು ಏನು ಮಾಡಿದನು?” ಎಂದನು.
33 Then Saul raised his spear at him to strike him, and Jonathan realized that this evil from his father to kill David was determined.
ಆಗ ಸೌಲನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆಯಲು ಈಟಿಯನ್ನು ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ಎಸೆದನು. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಯೋನಾತಾನನು ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯು ದಾವೀದನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಲು ದೃಢಮಾಡಿದನೆಂದು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಂಡನು.
34 So Jonathan sprang up from the table in fierce anger, and ate no food the second day of the month; for he was grieved for David, because his father had dishonored him.
ಯೋನಾತಾನನು ಕೋಪದಿಂದ ಉರಿಗೊಂಡು ಮೇಜಿನಿಂದ ಎದ್ದು ಹೋದನು. ಹಬ್ಬದ ಎರಡನೆಯ ದಿನವಾಗಿದ್ದ ಅಂದು ಅವನು ಊಟ ಮಾಡಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ ಅವಮಾನ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ, ಅವನಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ವ್ಯಥೆಪಟ್ಟನು.
35 It happened in the morning, that Jonathan went out into the field at the time appointed with David, and a little boy with him.
ಉದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೋನಾತಾನನು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ ನೇಮಿಸಿದ ವೇಳೆಯ ಪ್ರಕಾರವೇ ಒಬ್ಬ ಚಿಕ್ಕ ಹುಡುಗನನ್ನು ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು,
36 He said to the boy, "Run, find now the arrows which I shoot." And as the boy ran, he shot an arrow, causing it to pass beyond, toward the city.
ಹೊಲಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊರಟುಹೋಗಿ ಹುಡುಗನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಓಡಿಹೋಗಿ ನಾನು ಎಸೆಯುವ ಬಾಣಗಳನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕಿಕೊಂಡು ಬಾ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ, ಆ ಹುಡುಗನು ಓಡುವಾಗ ಅವನಿಗೆ, ಆಚೆ ಹೋಗುವಹಾಗೆ ಬಾಣವನ್ನು ಎಸೆದನು.
37 When the boy had come to the place of the arrow which Jonathan had shot, Jonathan called after the youth, and said, "Isn't the arrow beyond you?"
ಯೋನಾತಾನನು ಎಸೆದ ಬಾಣವಿರುವ ಸ್ಥಳದವರೆಗೆ ಹುಡುಗನು ಹೋದಾಗ, “ಬಾಣವು ನಿನ್ನ ಆಚೆ ಇಲ್ಲವೋ?” ಎಂದು ಯೋನಾತಾನನು ಹುಡುಗನ ಹಿಂದೆ ಕೂಗಿದನು.
38 Jonathan cried after the boy, "Go fast. Hurry. Do not delay." Jonathan's boy gathered up the arrows, and came to his master.
“ನೀನು ಆಲಸ್ಯಮಾಡದೇ ತ್ವರೆಯಾಗಿ ಹೋಗು,” ಎಂದು ಯೋನಾತಾನನು ಹುಡುಗನ ಹಿಂದೆ ಕೂಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದನು. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಯೋನಾತಾನನ ಹುಡುಗನು ಬಾಣಗಳನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು, ತನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತಂದನು.
39 But the boy did not know anything. Only Jonathan and David knew the matter.
ಆ ಹುಡುಗನು ಏನೂ ತಿಳಿಯದೆ ಇದ್ದನು. ಯೋನಾತಾನನೂ, ದಾವೀದನೂ ಮಾತ್ರ ಆ ಸಂಗತಿಯನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು.
40 Jonathan gave his weapons to his boy, and said to him, "Go, carry them to the city."
ಆಗ ಯೋನಾತಾನನು ತನ್ನ ಆಯುಧಗಳನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಹುಡುಗನಿಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಪಟ್ಟಣದೊಳಕ್ಕೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗು,” ಎಂದನು.
41 As soon as the boy was gone, David arose from beside the mound, and fell on his face to the ground, and bowed himself three times. They kissed one another, and wept one with another, and David wept the most.
ಹುಡುಗನು ಹೋಗುತ್ತಲೇ ದಾವೀದನು ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಕಡೆಯಿಂದ ಎದ್ದು ಬಂದು ಯೋನಾತಾನನ ಮುಂದೆ ಬೋರಲು ಬಿದ್ದು ಮೂರು ಸಾರಿ ವಂದಿಸಿದನು. ಅವರು ಒಬ್ಬರಿಗೊಬ್ಬರು ಮುದ್ದಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು, ಒಬ್ಬರನ್ನೊಬ್ಬರು ನೋಡಿ ಅತ್ತರು. ದಾವೀದನು ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ಅತ್ತನು.
42 Then Jonathan said, "Go in peace, because we have both sworn in the name of the LORD, saying, 'The LORD shall be between me and you, and between my descendants and your descendants, forever.'" He arose and departed; and Jonathan went into the city.
ಆಗ ಯೋನಾತಾನನು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಸಮಾಧಾನವಾಗಿ ಹೋಗು, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಎಂದೆಂದಿಗೂ ನನಗೂ, ನಿನಗೂ, ನನ್ನ ಸಂತಾನಕ್ಕೂ, ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂತಾನಕ್ಕೂ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಾಗಿರಲೆಂದು ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಹೆಸರಿನಿಂದ ಆಣೆಯಿಟ್ಟು ನಾವಿಬ್ಬರೂ ಪ್ರಮಾಣ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡೆವಲ್ಲಾ,” ಎಂದನು. ಆಗ ದಾವೀದನು ಎದ್ದು ಹೋದನು. ಯೋನಾತಾನನು ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದನು.
