1 Yochanan 3
1 See what kind of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God; and we are. For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know him.
¡Consideren qué glorioso amor nos dio el Padre, para que seamos llamados hijos de Dios! ¡Y somos! Por esto no nos conoce el mundo, porque no lo conoció a Él.
2 Beloved, now we are children of God, and it is not yet revealed what we will be. We know that, when he is revealed, we will be like him; for we will see him just as he is.
Amados, ahora somos hijos de Dios, y aún no se manifiesta lo que seremos, pero sabemos que cuando Él se manifieste, seremos semejantes a Él, porque lo veremos como [Él ]es.
3 Everyone who has this hope set on him purifies himself, even as he is pure.
Todo el que tiene esta esperanza en Él se purifica como Él es puro.
4 Everyone who sins also commits lawlessness. Sin is lawlessness.
Todo el que practica el pecado también practica la ilegalidad, porque el pecado es la ilegalidad.
5 You know that he was revealed to take away sins, and in him is no sin.
[Ustedes] saben que Él se manifestó para cargar los pecados, y Él no cometió pecado.
6 Whoever remains in him does not sin. Whoever sins hasn't seen him, neither knows him.
Todo el que permanece en Él, no peca. Todo el que peca, no lo vio ni lo conoció.
7 Children, let no one lead you astray. He who does righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
Hijitos, nadie los engañe: El que practica la justicia es justo, como Él es justo.
8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. To this end the Son of God was revealed, to destroy the works of the devil.
El que practica el pecado es del diablo, pues el diablo peca desde un principio. El Hijo de Dios se manifestó para destruir las obras del diablo.
9 Whoever is born of God does not commit sin, because his seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
Todo el que nació de Dios no practica pecado, porque la misma descendencia permanece en él, y no puede pecar, porque nació de Dios.
10 In this the children of God are revealed, and the children of the devil. Whoever does not do righteousness is not of God, neither is he who does not love his brother.
En esto son conocidos los hijos de Dios y los hijos del diablo: Todo el que no practica justicia no es de Dios. Tampoco [es de Dios] el que no ama a su hermano.
11 For this is the message which you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another;
Porque éste es el mensaje que han escuchado desde un principio: que nos amemos unos a otros.
12 unlike Cain, who was of the evil one, and killed his brother. Why did he kill him? Because his works were evil, and his brother's righteous.
No como Caín, que era del maligno y asesinó a su hermano. ¿Por qué lo asesinó? Porque sus obras eran malas, y las de su hermano justas.
13 Therefore do not be surprised, brothers, if the world hates you.
Hermanos, no se asombren si el mundo los aborrece.
14 We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brothers. He who does not love remains in death.
Nosotros sabemos que pasamos de la muerte a la vida, porque amamos a los hermanos. El que no ama permanece en la muerte.
15 Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has everlasting life remaining in him. (aiōnios g166)
Todo el que aborrece a su hermano es homicida. [Ustedes] saben que ningún homicida tiene vida eterna permanente en él. (aiōnios g166)
16 By this we know love, because he laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.
En esto conocemos el amor: en que Él ofreció su vida por nosotros. También nosotros tenemos que ofrecer nuestras vidas por los hermanos.
17 But whoever has the world's goods, and sees his brother in need, and closes his heart of compassion against him, how does the love of God remain in him?
Pero el que tenga bienes del mundo, y vea a su hermano con necesidad y le cierra su corazón, ¿cómo mora el amor de Dios en él?
18 Little children, let us not love in word only, neither with the tongue only, but in deed and truth.
Hijitos, no amemos de palabra ni de lengua, sino con obra y verdad.
19 And by this we will know that we are of the truth, and persuade our heart before him,
En esto sabemos que somos de la Verdad, y afirmaremos nuestros corazones delante de Él.
20 because if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things.
Porque cuando nuestro corazón nos condene, Dios es mayor que nuestro corazón y conoce todas las cosas.
21 Beloved, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God;
Amados, cuando el corazón no condene, tenemos confianza ante Dios,
22 and whatever we ask, we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do the things that are pleasing in his sight.
y recibimos de Él cualquier cosa que pidamos, porque guardamos sus Mandamientos y hacemos las cosas que son agradables delante de Él.
23 This is his commandment, that we should believe in the name of his Son, Jesus (the) Messiah, and love one another, even as he commanded us.
Éste es su Mandamiento: que creamos en el Nombre de su Hijo Jesucristo y nos amemos unos a otros, como nos mandó.
24 He who keeps his commandments remains in him, and he in him. By this we know that he remains in us, by the Spirit which he gave us.
El que guarda sus Mandamientos, permanece en Él, y Él en aquél. En esto sabemos que permanece en nosotros: porque nos dio el Espíritu.
