1 Yochanan 3
1 See what kind of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God; and we are. For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know him.
視よ、父の我らに賜ひし愛の如何に大なるかを。我ら神の子と稱へらる。既に神の子たり、世の我らを知らぬは、父を知らぬによりてなり。
2 Beloved, now we are children of God, and it is not yet revealed what we will be. We know that, when he is revealed, we will be like him; for we will see him just as he is.
愛する者よ、我等いま神の子たり、後いかん、未だ顯れず、主の現れたまふ時われら之に肖んことを知る。我らその眞の状を見るべければなり。
3 Everyone who has this hope set on him purifies himself, even as he is pure.
凡て主による此の希望を懷く者は、その清きがごとく己を潔くす。
4 Everyone who sins also commits lawlessness. Sin is lawlessness.
すべて罪をおこなふ者は不法を行ふなり、罪は即ち不法なり。
5 You know that he was revealed to take away sins, and in him is no sin.
汝らは知る、主の現れ給ひしは罪を除かん爲なるを。主には罪あることなし。
6 Whoever remains in him does not sin. Whoever sins hasn't seen him, neither knows him.
おほよそ主に居る者は罪を犯さず、おほよそ罪を犯す者は未だ主を見ず、主を知らぬなり。
7 Children, let no one lead you astray. He who does righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
若子よ、人に惑さるな、義をおこなふ者は義人なり、即ち主の義なるがごとし。
8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. To this end the Son of God was revealed, to destroy the works of the devil.
罪を行ふものは惡魔より出づ、惡魔は初より罪を犯せばなり。神の子の現れ給ひしは、惡魔の業を毀たん爲なり。
9 Whoever is born of God does not commit sin, because his seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
凡て神より生るる者は罪を行はず、神の種、その衷に止るに由る。彼は神より生るる故に罪を犯すこと能はず。
10 In this the children of God are revealed, and the children of the devil. Whoever does not do righteousness is not of God, neither is he who does not love his brother.
之に由りて神の子と惡魔の子とは明かなり。おほよそ義を行はぬ者および己が兄弟を愛せぬ者は神より出づるにあらず。
11 For this is the message which you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another;
われら互に相 愛すべきは汝らが初より聞きし音信なり。
12 unlike Cain, who was of the evil one, and killed his brother. Why did he kill him? Because his works were evil, and his brother's righteous.
カインに效ふな、彼は惡しき者より出でて己が兄弟を殺せり。何 故ころしたるか、己が行爲は惡しく、その兄弟の行爲は正しかりしに因る。
13 Therefore do not be surprised, brothers, if the world hates you.
兄弟よ、世は汝らを憎むとも怪しむな。
14 We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brothers. He who does not love remains in death.
われら兄弟を愛するによりて、死より生命に移りしを知る、愛せぬ者は死のうちに居る。
15 Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has everlasting life remaining in him. (aiōnios g166)
おほよそ兄弟を憎む者は即ち人を殺す者なり、凡そ人を殺す者の、その内に永遠の生命なきを汝らは知る。 (aiōnios g166)
16 By this we know love, because he laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.
主は我らの爲に生命を捨てたまへり、之によりて愛といふことを知りたり、我等もまた兄弟のために生命を捨つべきなり。
17 But whoever has the world's goods, and sees his brother in need, and closes his heart of compassion against him, how does the love of God remain in him?
世の財寶をもちて兄弟の窮乏を見、反つて憐憫の心を閉づる者は、いかで神の愛その衷にあらんや。
18 Little children, let us not love in word only, neither with the tongue only, but in deed and truth.
若子よ、われら言と舌とをもて相 愛することなく、行爲と眞實とを以てすべし。
19 And by this we will know that we are of the truth, and persuade our heart before him,
之に由りて我ら眞理より出でしを知り、且われらの心われらを責むとも神の前に心を安んずべし。
20 because if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things.
神は我らの心よりも大にして一切のことを知り給へばなり。
21 Beloved, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God;
愛する者よ、我らが心みづから責むる所なくば、神に向ひて懼なし。
22 and whatever we ask, we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do the things that are pleasing in his sight.
且すべて求むる所を神より受くべし。是その誡命を守りて御心にかなふ所を行へばなり。
23 This is his commandment, that we should believe in the name of his Son, Jesus (the) Messiah, and love one another, even as he commanded us.
その誡命はこれなり、即ち我ら神の子イエス・キリストの名を信じ、その命じ給ひしごとく互に相 愛すべきことなり。
24 He who keeps his commandments remains in him, and he in him. By this we know that he remains in us, by the Spirit which he gave us.
神の誡命を守る者は神に居り、神もまた彼に居給ふ。我らその賜ふところの御靈に由りて其の我らに居給ふことを知るなり。
