1 Corinthians 1
1 Paul, called to be an apostle of Messiah Jesus by the will of God, and our brother Sosthenes,
神の思召に由りてイエズス、キリストの使徒と召されたるパウロ、並に兄弟ソステネス、
2 to the church of God which is at Corinth, to those who are sanctified in Messiah Jesus, called to be saints, with all who call on the name of our Lord Jesus (the) Messiah in every place, both theirs and ours:
コリントに在る神の教會、即ちキリスト、イエズスに於て聖とせられ聖徒と召されたる人々、及び彼等の處我等の處何れの處にも在りて、我主イエズス、キリストの御名を呼べる人々一同に[書簡を贈る]。
3 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus (the) Messiah.
願はくは我父にて在す神及び主イエズス、キリストより恩寵と平安とを汝等に賜はらんことを。
4 I always thank my God concerning you, for the grace of God which was given you in Messiah Jesus;
キリスト、イエズスに於て汝等に賜はりたる神の恩寵に就きて、我絶えず汝等の為に我神に感謝し奉る。
5 that in everything you were enriched in him, in all speech and all knowledge;
其は汝等彼に於て、凡ての教、凡ての智識、何物にも富める者となりたればなり。
6 even as the testimony of Messiah was confirmed in you:
蓋キリストの證明汝等の中に堅くせられたれば、
7 so that you are not lacking in any gift, as you wait for our Lord Jesus (the) Messiah to be revealed;
汝等如何なる恩寵にも缼くる所なくして、我主イエズス、キリストの顕れ給ふを待てるなり。
8 who will also strengthen you to the end, blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus (the) Messiah.
神は汝等を終まで堅固ならしめ、無罪にして我主イエズス、キリストの降臨の日に至らしめ給ふべし。
9 God is faithful, through whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus (the) Messiah, our Lord.
其は其御子にて在す我主イエズス、キリストに與すべく、汝等を召し給へる神は、眞實にて在せばなり。
10 Now I appeal to you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus (the) Messiah, that all of you be in agreement, so that there may be no divisions among you, and to be united by the same mind and conviction.
第一項 分裂の第一原因即ち此世の智恵 第一編 コリント信者間の分裂を咎む 兄弟等よ、我主イエズス、キリストの御名によりて我汝等に勧告す、汝等皆言ふ所を同うして、其間に分裂ある事なく、同意同説に全く相一致せんことを。
11 For it has been reported to me concerning you, my brothers, by those who are from Chloe's household, that there are contentions among you.
蓋我兄弟等よ、クロエの家の人々より報じ來りし所に據れば、汝等の間に[種々の]争論ある由。
12 Now I mean this, that each one of you says, "I follow Paul," "I follow Apollos," "I follow Cephas," and, "I follow Messiah."
我之を云はんに、汝等各、我はパウロのもの、我はアポルロのもの我はケファのもの、我はキリストのものなりと云ふ。
13 Is Messiah divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized into the name of Paul?
キリスト豈分割せられ給ひし者ならんや、パウロは汝等の為に十字架に釘けられしか、或は汝等はパウロの名に由りて洗せられしか。
14 I thank God that I baptized none of you, except Crispus and Gaius,
我は汝等の中、クリスポとカヨとの外、誰をも洗せざりし事を神に感謝す、
15 so that no one should say that you had been baptized into my own name.
然れば一人も我名によりて洗せられたりと云ふ者はあらじ。
16 (Now I also baptized the household of Stephanas; beyond that, I do not know whether I baptized any other.)
尚ステファナの一家をも洗したれど、其外には我人を洗したるを知らざるなり。
17 For Messiah sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel—not in wisdom of words, so that the cross of the Messiah would not be made void.
蓋我がキリストより遣はされしは、洗する為に非ずして福音を傳へん為なり。而も言の智恵を以てすべきに非ず、是キリストの十字架の空しくならざらん為なり。
18 For the message about the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
蓋十字架の言は亡ぶる人には愚なる事なれども、救はるる者即ち我等には神の大能なり。
19 For it is written, "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the discernment of the discerning I will nullify."
録して、「我は智者の智恵を亡ぼし、賢者の賢さを傷はん」、とあればなり。
20 Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Hasn't God made foolish the wisdom of the world? (aiōn g165)
此世の智者何處にか在る、律法學者何處にか在る、論者何處にか在る。神は此世の智を愚ならしめ給ひしに非ずや。 (aiōn g165)
21 For seeing that in the wisdom of God, the world through its wisdom did not know God, it was God's good pleasure through the foolishness of the preaching to save those who believe.
蓋世[の人]は其智恵を以て、神の全智[の業]に於て神を認めざりしかば、神は宣教の愚を以て信者を救ふを善しとし給へり。
22 For Jews ask for signs, and Greeks seek after wisdom,
即ちユデア人は徴を求め、ギリシア人は智恵を探ぬるに、
23 but we preach Messiah crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to the non-Jews,
我等は十字架に釘けられ給へるキリストを宣傳ふるなり。是ユデア人に取りては躓くもの、ギリシア人に取りては愚なる事なれども、
24 but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Messiah is the power of God and the wisdom of God.
召されしユデア人及びギリシア人に取りては神の大能、神の智恵たるキリストなり。
25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than man's, and the weakness of God is stronger than man's.
其は神の愚なる所は人よりも敏く、神の弱き所は人よりも強ければなり。
26 For consider your calling, brothers, that not many were wise from a human perspective, not many mighty, not many of noble birth.
兄弟等よ、汝等の召されし者を看よ、肉に由れる智者は多からず、有力者は多からず、尊き者は多からず、
27 But God chose the foolish of the world to shame the wise. And God chose the weak of the world to shame the strong.
却て智者を辱めんとて、神は世の愚なる所を召し給ひ、強き所を辱めんとて、神は世の弱き所を召し給ひ、
28 And God chose the lowly of the world, and the despised, what is considered to be nothing, to bring to nothing what is considered to be something,
現に在る所を亡ぼさんとて、神は世の卑しき所、蔑にせらるる所、無き所をば召し給ひしなり。
29 that no flesh might boast before God.
是何人も御前に於て驕らざらん為なり。
30 And because of him you are in Messiah Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification and redemption,
汝等は神に由りてこそ、我等の智恵と義と成聖と贖とに成り給ひしキリスト、イエズスに在るなれ。
31 so that, as it is written, "Let him who boasts, boast in the Lord."
是録されたる如く、「誇る者は主に於て誇らん」為なり。
