< Psalms 9 >
1 [For the choir director; according to Muth-labben. A Psalm by David.] I will give thanks to Jehovah with my whole heart. I will tell of all your marvelous works.
Ki he Takimuʻa ʻi he Muti-Lapeni, ko e Saame ʻa Tevita. Te u fakafetaʻi kiate koe, ʻE Sihova, ʻaki hoku loto kotoa; te u fakahā atu hoʻo ngāue fakaofo kotoa pē.
2 I will be glad and rejoice in you. I will sing praise to your name, O Most High.
Te u fiefia mo nekeneka ʻiate koe: te u hiva fakamālō ki ho huafa, ʻa koe ʻoku ke māʻolunga lahi taha pe.
3 When my enemies turn back, they stumble and perish in your presence.
Pea ka foki kimui hoku ngaahi fili, te nau hinga ʻo ʻauha ʻi ho fofonga.
4 For you have upheld my just cause. You sit on the throne judging righteously.
He naʻa ke langomia ʻeku totonu mo ʻeku ngāue; naʻa ke nofo ʻi he nofoʻa, ʻo fakamaau ʻi he māʻoniʻoni.
5 You have rebuked the nations. You have destroyed the wicked. You have blotted out their name forever and ever.
Kuo ke valoki ʻae hiteni, kuo ke fakaʻauha ʻae angakovi, kuo ke tāmateʻi honau hingoa ke taʻengata pea taʻengata.
6 The enemy is overtaken by endless ruin; and the very memory of the cities which you have overthrown has perished.
Kuo hoko ke ngata ʻaupito ʻae ngaahi fakaʻauha ʻoe fili: pea ko honau ngaahi kolo kuo ke fakaʻauha; kuo ʻauha mo kinautolu honau fakamanatu.
7 But Jehovah reigns forever. He has prepared his throne for judgment.
Ka ʻe moʻui maʻuaipē ʻa Sihova: kuo ne teuʻi hono ʻafioʻanga ki he fakamaau.
8 And he will judge the world in righteousness. He will judge the peoples with equity.
Pea te ne fakamaau ʻa māmani ʻi he māʻoniʻoni, ʻe ʻatu ʻe ia ʻae fakamaau ki he kakai ʻi he angatonu.
9 Jehovah will also be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.
Pea ko e hūfanga foki ʻa Sihova ki he mamahi, ko e kalofanga ʻi he ngaahi ʻaho fakamamahi.
10 And those who know your name will put their trust in you, for you, Jehovah, have not forsaken those who seek you.
Pea ko kinautolu ʻoku ʻilo ki ho huafa te nau falala kiate koe: he ko koe, ʻE Sihova, naʻe ʻikai te ke siʻaki ʻakinautolu ʻoku kumi kiate koe.
11 Sing praises to Jehovah, who dwells in Zion, and declare among the people what he has done.
Hiva fakafetaʻi kia Sihova, ʻaia ʻoku ʻafio ʻi Saione: fakahā ʻi he ʻao ʻoe kakai ʻene ngaahi ngāue.
12 For he who takes revenge against murderers remembers them. He doesn't forget the cry of the afflicted.
ʻOka ne ka ʻeke ki he toto, ʻoku ne manatuʻi ʻakinautolu: ʻoku ʻikai te ne fakangalongaloʻi ʻae tangi ʻae angavaivai.
13 Have mercy on me, Jehovah. See my affliction by those who hate me. You lift me up from the gates of death,
Ke ke ʻaloʻofa kiate au, ʻE Sihova; ʻo tokanga ki heʻeku mamahi meiate kinautolu ʻoku fehiʻa kiate au, ʻa koe ʻoku ke hiki au ki ʻolunga mei he ngaahi matapā ʻoe mate:
14 so that I may tell all your praise in the gates of the daughter of Zion. I will rejoice in your salvation.
Koeʻuhi ke u fakahā ho ongoongolelei kotoa pē. ʻi he ngaahi matapā ʻoe taʻahine ʻo Saione: te u fiefia ʻi hoʻo fakamoʻui.
15 The nations have fallen into the pit they had made. In the net which they hid, their feet are caught.
Kuo ngalo hifo ʻae hiteni ʻi he luo naʻa nau ngaohi: ʻi he tauhele naʻa nau fakalilo kuo moʻua ai honau vaʻe.
16 Jehovah has made himself known. He has executed judgment. The wicked is snared by the work of his own hands. (Higgaion, Selah)
ʻOku ʻiloʻi ʻa Sihova ʻi he fakamaau ʻoku ne fai: kuo heleʻi ʻae angakovi ʻi he ngāue ʻa hono nima ʻoʻona. (Hikaione, Sila)
17 The wicked shall be turned back to Sheol, even all the nations that forget God. (Sheol )
ʻE tekeʻi ʻae angahala ki loto heli, mo e ngaahi puleʻanga kotoa pē ʻoku fakangalongaloʻi ʻae ʻOtua. (Sheol )
18 For the needy shall not always be forgotten; the hope of the poor shall not perish forever.
Koeʻuhi ʻe ʻikai ngalo maʻuaipē ʻae masiva: ʻe ʻikai ʻauha ke taʻengata ʻae ʻamanaki ʻae masiva.
19 Arise, Jehovah. Do not let man prevail. Let the nations be judged in your presence.
Tuʻu hake, ʻE Sihova; ʻoua naʻa tuku ke mālohi ʻae tangata: tuku ke fakamaau ʻae hiteni ʻi ho ʻao.
20 Terrify them, Jehovah. Let the nations know that they are only human. (Selah)
Fakamanavahēʻi ʻakinautolu, ʻE Sihova: koeʻuhi ke ʻilo ʻe he ngaahi puleʻanga ko e tangata pē ʻakinautolu. (Sila)
