Psalms 76
1 [For the Chief Musician. On stringed instruments. A Psalm by Asaph. A song.] In Judah, God is known. His name is great in Israel.
Kwa mwimbishaji. Kwa ala za nyuzi za muziki. Zaburi ya Asafu. Wimbo. Katika Yuda, Mungu anajulikana, jina lake ni kuu katika Israeli.
2 And his abode is in Salem, and his lair in Zion.
Hema lake liko Salemu, makao yake katika Sayuni.
3 There he broke the flaming arrows of the bow, the shield, and the sword, and the weapons of war. (Selah)
Huko alivunja mishale imetametayo, ngao na panga, silaha za vita.
4 Glorious are you, and excellent, more than mountains of game.
Wewe unangʼaa kwa mwanga, mwenye fahari zaidi ya milima yenye utajiri wa wanyama pori.
5 Valiant men lie plundered, they have slept their last sleep. None of the men of war can lift their hands.
Mashujaa hulala wametekwa nyara, hulala usingizi wao wa mwisho; hakuna hata mmoja wa watu wa vita anayeweza kuinua mikono yake.
6 At your rebuke, God of Jacob, both chariot and horse are cast into a deep sleep.
Kwa kukemea kwako, Ee Mungu wa Yakobo, farasi na gari la vita vilikaa kimya.
7 You, even you, are to be feared. Who can stand in your sight when you are angry?
Wewe peke yako ndiye wa kuogopwa. Ni nani awezaye kusimama mbele yako unapokasirika?
8 You pronounced judgment from heaven. The earth feared, and was silent,
Kutoka mbinguni ulitamka hukumu, nayo nchi ikaogopa, ikawa kimya:
9 when God arose to judgment, to save all the afflicted ones of the earth. (Selah)
wakati wewe, Ee Mungu, ulipoinuka kuhukumu, kuwaokoa wote walioonewa katika nchi.
10 Surely the wrath of man praises you. The survivors of your wrath are restrained.
Hakika ghadhabu yako dhidi ya wanadamu inakuletea sifa, na masalia ya ghadhabu yako unajifunga mshipi.
11 Make vows to Jehovah your God, and fulfill them. Let all of his neighbors bring presents to him who is to be feared.
Wekeni nadhiri kwa Bwana Mungu wenu na kuzitimiza; nchi zote za jirani na walete zawadi kwa Yule astahiliye kuogopwa.
12 He humbles the spirit of princes. He is feared by the kings of the earth.
Huvunja roho za watawala; anaogopwa na wafalme wa dunia.
