< Psalms 75 >

1 [For the Chief Musician. To the tune of "Do Not Destroy." A Psalm by Asaph. A song.] We give thanks to you, God. We give thanks, for your Name is near. Men tell about your wondrous works.
For the leader; al tashheth. A psalm of Asaph, a song. We praise you, God, we praise you: we would call on your name and declare your wonders.
2 When I choose the appointed time, I will judge blamelessly.
“At the time I choose, I will judge fairly.
3 The earth and all its inhabitants quake. I firmly hold its pillars. (Selah)
Though earth melt and all her inhabitants, it is I who keep steady her pillars.” (Selah)
4 I said to the arrogant, "Do not boast." I said to the wicked, "Do not lift up the horn.
I say to the boasters, “Boast not”; to the wicked, “Lift not up your horn:
5 Do not lift up your horn on high. Do not speak with a stiff neck."
lift not your horn on high, speak not boldly against the Rock.”
6 For neither from the east, nor from the west, nor yet from the south, comes exaltation.
For not from east nor west, not from desert nor mountains;
7 But God is the judge. He puts down one, and lifts up another.
but God himself is the judge, humbling one and exalting another.
8 For in the hand of Jehovah there is a cup, full of foaming wine mixed with spices. He pours it out. Indeed the wicked of the earth drink and drink it to its very dregs.
In the hand of the Lord is a cup foaming wine, richly spiced. Out of this he pours a draught, and all the wicked of earth must drain it down to the dregs.
9 But I will declare this forever: I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.
But I will rejoice forever, singing praise to the God of Jacob.
10 I will cut off all the horns of the wicked, but the horns of the righteous shall be lifted up.
I will hew all the horns of the wicked, but the horns of the just shall be lifted.
