< Psalms 4 >
1 [For the Chief Musician; on stringed instruments. A Psalm by David.] Answer me when I call, God of my righteousness. You set me free in my distress. Be gracious to me and hear my prayer.
Poslušaj me, kadar kličem, oh Bog moje pravičnosti. Osvobodil si me, ko sem bil v stiski, usmili se me in usliši mojo molitev.
2 You sons of man, how long will you shame my honor, love what is worthless, chase after a lie? (Selah)
Oh vi človeški sinovi, doklej boste mojo slavo spreminjali v sramoto? Kako dolgo boste ljubili prazne reči in iskali laž? (Sela)
3 But know that Jehovah works wonders for his godly one; Jehovah will hear when I call to him.
Toda vedite, da je Gospod zase oddvojil tistega, ki je bogaboječ. Gospod bo slišal, kadar kličem k njemu.
4 Be angry, but do not sin. Ponder in your heart, but be at rest on your bed. (Selah)
Stoj v strahospoštovanju in ne greši. Na svoji postelji se posvetuj s svojim lastnim srcem in miruj. (Sela)
5 Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in Jehovah.
Daruj klavne daritve pravičnosti in svoje trdno upanje položi v Gospoda.
6 Many say, "Who will show us any good?" Jehovah, lift up the light of your face upon us.
Mnogi so, ki pravijo: »Kdo nam bo pokazal karkoli dobrega?« Gospod, dvigni nad nami svetlobo svojega obličja.
7 You have put gladness in my heart, more than when their grain and wine and oil abound.
V moje srce si položil veselje, več kot v času, ko je naraslo njihovo žito in njihovo vino.
8 In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Jehovah alone, make me live in safety.
V miru se bom ulegel in spal. Kajti samo ti, Gospod, mi daješ prebivati na varnem.
