< Psalms 25 >
1 [By David.] To you, Jehovah, do I lift up my soul.
Unto the end. A Psalm of David. To you, Lord, I have lifted up my soul.
2 My God, I have trusted in you. Do not let me be shamed. Do not let my enemies triumph over me.
In you, my God, I trust. Let me not be put to shame.
3 Yes, no one who waits for you shall be shamed. They shall be shamed who deal treacherously without cause.
And do not let my enemies laugh at me. For all who remain with you will not be confounded.
4 Show me your ways, Jehovah. Teach me your paths.
May all those who act unjustly over nothing be confounded. O Lord, demonstrate your ways to me, and teach me your paths.
5 Guide me in your truth, and teach me, For you are the God of my salvation, I wait for you all day long.
Direct me in your truth, and teach me. For you are God, my Savior, and I remain with you all day long.
6 Jehovah, remember your tender mercies and your loving kindness, for they are from old times.
O Lord, remember your compassion and your mercies, which are from ages past.
7 Do not remember the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions. Remember me according to your loving kindness, for your goodness' sake, Jehovah.
Do not remember the offenses of my youth and my ignorances. Remember me according to your mercy, because of your goodness, O Lord.
8 Good and upright is Jehovah, therefore he will instruct sinners in the way.
The Lord is sweet and righteous. Because of this, he will grant a law to those who fall short in the way.
9 He will guide the humble in justice. He will teach the humble his way.
He will direct the mild in judgment. He will teach the meek his ways.
10 All the paths of Jehovah are loving kindness and truth to those who keep his covenant and his testimonies.
All the ways of the Lord are mercy and truth, to those who yearn for his covenant and his testimonies.
11 For your name's sake, Jehovah, pardon my iniquity, for it is great.
Because of your name, O Lord, you will pardon my sin, for it is great.
12 What man is he who fears Jehovah? He shall instruct him in the way that he shall choose.
Which is the man who fears the Lord? He has established a law for him, on the way that he has chosen.
13 His soul shall dwell in prosperity, and his descendants shall inherit the land.
His soul will dwell upon good things, and his offspring will inherit the earth.
14 The friendship of Jehovah is with those who fear him. He will show them his covenant.
The Lord is a firmament to those who fear him, and his covenant will be made manifest to them.
15 My eyes are ever on Jehovah, for he will pluck my feet out of the net.
My eyes are ever toward the Lord, for he will pull my feet from the snare.
16 Turn to me, and have mercy on me, for I am desolate and afflicted.
Look upon me and have mercy on me; for I am alone and poor.
17 Relieve me from the distresses of my heart, and bring me out of my distresses.
The troubles of my heart have been multiplied. Deliver me from my needfulness.
18 Consider my affliction and my travail. Forgive all my sins.
See my lowliness and my hardship, and release all my offenses.
19 Consider my enemies, for they are many. They hate me with cruel hatred.
Consider my enemies, for they have been multiplied, and they have hated me with an unjust hatred.
20 Oh keep my soul, and deliver me. Let me not be disappointed, for I take refuge in you.
Preserve my soul and rescue me. I will not be ashamed, for I have hoped in you.
21 Let integrity and uprightness preserve me, for I wait for you, Jehovah.
The innocent and the righteous have adhered to me, because I have remained with you.
22 Redeem Israel, God, from all of his troubles.
Free Israel, O God, from all his tribulations.
