< Psalms 16 >
1 [A Poem by David.] Preserve me, God, for in you do I take refuge.
Dawid mpaeɛbɔ. Bɔ me ho ban, Ao Onyankopɔn, na wo mu na menya hintabea.
2 I said to Jehovah, "You are my Lord. Apart from you I have no good thing."
Meka kyerɛɛ Awurade sɛ, “MʼAwurade ne wo; menni adepa biara ka wo ho.”
3 As for the holy ones who are in the land, they are the excellent ones in whom is all my delight.
Ahotefoɔ a wɔwɔ asase no so deɛ, wɔne animuonyamfoɔ a mʼanigyeɛ wɔ wɔn mu.
4 Their sorrows will multiply who pay a dowry for another. Their drink offerings of blood I will not offer, nor take their names on my lips.
Wɔn a wɔdi anyame afoforɔ akyire no wɔn awerɛhoɔ bɛdɔɔso. Merenyi wɔn mogya apaeɛ no bi na meremfa mʼano memmɔ wɔn din.
5 Jehovah is the portion of my inheritance and my cup. You made my lot secure.
Awurade, wode me kyɛfa ne me kuruwa ama me; woama me kyɛfa anya banbɔ.
6 The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places. Yes, beautiful is my inheritance.
Mʼahyeɛ akɔdeda mmea a ɛhɔ yɛ ahomeka; ampa ara mewɔ agyapadeɛ a ɛho yɛ anigye.
7 I will bless Jehovah, who has given me counsel. Yes, my heart instructs me in the night seasons.
Mɛkamfo Awurade a ɔtu me fo; na anadwo mpo mʼakoma kyerɛkyerɛ me.
8 I have put Jehovah before me at all times. Because he is at my right hand I will never be upended.
Mehunu Awurade wɔ mʼani so daa nyinaa. Esiane sɛ ɔwɔ me nsa nifa enti, merenhinhim da.
9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my tongue rejoices. My body shall also dwell in safety.
Ɛno enti, me kra ani gye, na mede me tɛkrɛma di ahurisie; me onipadua nso bɛhome asomdwoeɛ mu,
10 For you will not abandon my soul in Sheol, neither will you allow your Holy One to see decay. (Sheol )
ɛfiri sɛ, worennya me awufoɔ mu. Na woremma wo Kronkronni no mporɔ. (Sheol )
11 You make known to me the path of life. In your presence is fullness of joy. In your right hand there are pleasures forevermore.
Woakyerɛ me nkwagyeɛ kwan, na wobɛma mʼani agye wɔ wʼanim, na anika a ɛrensa da wɔ wo nifa so.
