Psalms 16
1 [A Poem by David.] Preserve me, God, for in you do I take refuge.
Ein Lied von David. Behüte mich, Gott, denn bei dir such’ ich Zuflucht!
2 I said to Jehovah, "You are my Lord. Apart from you I have no good thing."
Ich sage zu Gott: »Mein Allherr bist du,
3 As for the holy ones who are in the land, they are the excellent ones in whom is all my delight.
und von den Heiligen im Lande (sag ich): »Dies sind die Edlen, an denen mein ganzes Herz hängt.«
4 Their sorrows will multiply who pay a dowry for another. Their drink offerings of blood I will not offer, nor take their names on my lips.
Vielfaches Leid erwächst den Verehrern anderer (Götter): ich mag ihre Bluttrankopfer nicht spenden und ihre Namen nicht auf meine Lippen nehmen.
5 Jehovah is the portion of my inheritance and my cup. You made my lot secure.
Der HERR ist mein Erbgut und Becherteil; du bist’s, der mein Los mir sichert.
6 The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places. Yes, beautiful is my inheritance.
Die Meßschnur ist mir gefallen aufs lieblichste ja, mein Erbteil gefällt mir gar wohl.
7 I will bless Jehovah, who has given me counsel. Yes, my heart instructs me in the night seasons.
Ich preise den HERRN, der mich freundlich beraten; auch nächtens mahnt mich mein Herz dazu.
8 I have put Jehovah before me at all times. Because he is at my right hand I will never be upended.
Ich habe den HERRN mir beständig vor Augen gestellt: steht er mir zur Rechten, so wanke ich nicht.
9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my tongue rejoices. My body shall also dwell in safety.
Drum freut sich mein Herz, und meine Seele frohlockt: auch mein Leib wird sicher wohnen.
10 For you will not abandon my soul in Sheol, neither will you allow your Holy One to see decay. (Sheol h7585)
Denn du gibst meine Seele dem Totenreich nicht preis, du läßt deinen Frommen nicht schaun die Vernichtung. (Sheol h7585)
11 You make known to me the path of life. In your presence is fullness of joy. In your right hand there are pleasures forevermore.
Du weisest mir den Weg des Lebens: vor deinem Angesicht sind Freuden in Fülle und Segensgaben in deiner Rechten ewiglich.
