< Psalms 16 >
1 [A Poem by David.] Preserve me, God, for in you do I take refuge.
Miktam mar Daudi. Rita maber, yaye Nyasaye nikech in e kar pondona.
2 I said to Jehovah, "You are my Lord. Apart from you I have no good thing."
Ne awacho ne Jehova Nyasaye niya, “In e Ruodha; onge gima ber machielo ma an-go makmana in.”
3 As for the holy ones who are in the land, they are the excellent ones in whom is all my delight.
To jomaler manie piny, to gin kaka joma nigi duongʼ ma ahero gi chunya duto.
4 Their sorrows will multiply who pay a dowry for another. Their drink offerings of blood I will not offer, nor take their names on my lips.
Joma lawo nyiseche mamoko kuyo margi biro medore. Misengini magi mag remo ok abi olo oko kendo kata nying-gi ok abi hulo gi dhoga.
5 Jehovah is the portion of my inheritance and my cup. You made my lot secure.
Jehova Nyasaye, isemiya pok makora kod okombena; iserita maber gi giga duto.
6 The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places. Yes, beautiful is my inheritance.
Kiepena duto ochopo kuonde mabeyo; adier, girkeni maga duto moro wangʼ adier.
7 I will bless Jehovah, who has given me counsel. Yes, my heart instructs me in the night seasons.
Abiro pako Jehova Nyasaye mangʼadona rieko; kata gotieno chunya puonja.
8 I have put Jehovah before me at all times. Because he is at my right hand I will never be upended.
Asiko aketo Jehova Nyasaye e nyima ndalo duto. Nikech ka entie e lweta korachwich, to onge gima nyalo yienga.
9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my tongue rejoices. My body shall also dwell in safety.
Emomiyo chunya mor kendo lewa yot; ringra bende biro yweyo gi kwe,
10 For you will not abandon my soul in Sheol, neither will you allow your Holy One to see decay. (Sheol )
nikech ok inijwangʼa ei liel, to bende ok niyie Ngʼati Maler tow. (Sheol )
11 You make known to me the path of life. In your presence is fullness of joy. In your right hand there are pleasures forevermore.
Isenyisa yor ngima; inipongʼa gi mor mogundho ka an e nyimi, kendo gi mor mosiko e badi korachwich.
