< Psalms 131 >

1 [A Song of Ascents. By David.] Jehovah, my heart isn't haughty, nor my eyes lofty; nor do I concern myself with great matters, or things too wonderful for me.
“A psalm of the steps, or the goings up. Of David.” O LORD! my heart is not haughty, nor my eyes lofty; I employ not myself on great things, or things too wonderful for me!
2 Surely I have stilled and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with his mother, like a weaned child is my soul within me.
Yea, I have stilled and quieted my soul As a weaned child upon his mother; My soul within me is like a weaned child.
3 Israel, hope in Jehovah, from this time forth and forevermore.
O Israel! trust in the LORD, Henceforth even for ever!
