< Psalms 124 >
1 [A Song of Ascents. By David.] If it had not been Jehovah who was on our side, let Israel now say,
Naho tsy Iehovà ty nañimba antika —ano ty hoe r’Israele—
2 if it had not been Jehovah who was on our side, when men rose up against us;
Naho tsy nañolotse’ antika t’Iehovà, ie naname an-tikañe ondatio,
3 then they would have swallowed us up alive, when their wrath was kindled against us;
le ho nagodra’ iereo veloñe ami’ty fisolebaran-kabosehañe;
4 then the waters would have overwhelmed us, the stream would have gone over our soul;
le ho nandempotse antika o ranoo, ho nisorotombak’ amo ain-tikañeo i torahañey,
5 then the proud waters would have gone over our soul.
Eka ho nalipo’ o rano mitroñeo o ain-tikañeo,
6 Blessed be Jehovah, who has not given us as a prey to their teeth.
Andriaño t’Iehovà, fa tsy napò’e tika ho fitsatsàm-pamotsi’ iareo.
7 Our soul has escaped like a bird out of the fowler's snare. The snare is broken, and we have escaped.
Niborofotse tika hoe voroñe am-bitsom-pitsindro-boroñe, nipototse i fandrikey, le nibotafotse tika.
8 Our help is in the name of Jehovah, who made heaven and earth.
Fañimbàn-tikañe ty tahina’ Iehovà, Andrianamboatse i likerañey naho ty tane toy.
