< Psalms 124 >

1 [A Song of Ascents. By David.] If it had not been Jehovah who was on our side, let Israel now say,
David ƒe mɔzɔha. Ne menye Yehowae le mía dzi o la, Israel negblɔ be,
2 if it had not been Jehovah who was on our side, when men rose up against us;
“Ɖe menye Yehowae le mía dzi o la, esi amegbetɔwo tso ɖe mía ŋu,
3 then they would have swallowed us up alive, when their wrath was kindled against us;
eye woƒe dɔmedzoe bi ɖe mía ŋu la, anye ne womi mí agbagbee,
4 then the waters would have overwhelmed us, the stream would have gone over our soul;
anye ne tsi ɖe mí hesi to mía dzi,
5 then the proud waters would have gone over our soul.
anye ne tɔ dzeagbowo kplɔ mí dzoe.”
6 Blessed be Jehovah, who has not given us as a prey to their teeth.
Woakafu Yehowa, ame si meɖe mɔ be woavuvu mí kple woƒe aɖu o.
7 Our soul has escaped like a bird out of the fowler's snare. The snare is broken, and we have escaped.
Míesi abe xevi si do le mɔtrela ƒe mɔka me la ene; mɔka la tso, eye míesi dzo.
8 Our help is in the name of Jehovah, who made heaven and earth.
Míaƒe xɔname le Yehowa, dziƒo kple anyigba Wɔla la gbɔ.
