< Psalms 11 >
1 [For the Chief Musician. By David.] In Jehovah, I take refuge. How can you say to my soul, "Flee as a bird to your mountain."
Thaburi ya Daudi Niĩ njũragĩra harĩ Jehova. Mwahota atĩa kũnjĩĩra atĩrĩ: “Ũmbũka ta nyoni ũũrĩre kĩrĩma-inĩ gĩaku.
2 For, look, the wicked bend their bows. They set their arrows on the strings, that they may shoot in darkness at the upright in heart.
Ta rora, andũ arĩa aaganu nĩmageetete mota mao, makahagĩka mĩguĩ yao ndigi-inĩ nĩguo mehithĩte nduma-inĩ marathe andũ arĩa atheru ngoro.
3 If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?
Hĩndĩ ĩrĩa mĩthingi ĩraanangwo-rĩ, andũ arĩa athingu mangĩhota gwĩka atĩa?”
4 Jehovah is in his holy temple. Jehovah is on his throne in heaven. His eyes look upon the poor. His eyes examine the descendants of Adam.
Jehova arĩ thĩinĩ wa hekarũ yake theru; Jehova arĩ gĩtĩ-inĩ gĩake kĩa ũnene kũu igũrũ. Acũthagĩrĩria ariũ a andũ; maitho make nĩmamaroragia.
5 Jehovah examines the righteous, but the wicked and the one who loves violence his soul hates.
Jehova nĩaroragia andũ arĩa athingu, no andũ arĩa aaganu na arĩa mendete haaro-rĩ, ngoro yake nĩĩmathũire.
6 On the wicked he will rain blazing coals; fire, sulfur, and scorching wind shall be the portion of their cup.
Andũ arĩa aaganu nĩakamoirĩria marakara maraakana na ũbiriti ũgwakana; igai rĩao nĩ rũhuho rũrĩa rũcinaga.
7 For Jehovah is righteous. He loves righteousness. The upright shall see his face.
Nĩgũkorwo Jehova nĩ mũthingu, na nĩendete ciira wa kĩhooto; andũ arĩa arũngĩrĩru nĩo marĩonaga ũthiũ wake.
