Philippians 3
1 Finally, my brothers, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you is no trouble to me, and is a safeguard for you.
Končno, moji bratje, veselite se v Gospodu. Da vam pišem iste stvari, meni zares ni nadležno, toda za vas je to varno.
2 Beware of the dogs, beware of the evil workers, beware of the false circumcision.
Pazite se psov, pazite se zlih delavcev, pazite se razkola.
3 For we are the circumcision, who worship God in the Spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh;
Kajti mi smo obreza, ki obožujemo Boga v duhu in se veselimo v Kristusu Jezusu in nimamo zaupanja v meso.
4 though I myself might have confidence even in the flesh. If anyone else thinks that he has confidence in the flesh, I yet more:
Čeprav bi tudi jaz lahko imel zaupanje v meso. Če katerikoli drug človek misli, da ima [kaj], glede česar bi lahko zaupal v meso, jaz bolj:
5 circumcised the eighth day, of the nation of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; concerning the law, a Pharisee;
obrezan osmi dan, iz Izraelove rase, iz Benjaminovega rodu, Hebrejec izmed Hebrejcev, glede postave farizej,
6 concerning zeal, persecuting the church; concerning the righteousness which is in the law, found blameless.
glede gorečnosti sem preganjal cerkev, glede pravičnosti, ki je po postavi, brez krivde.
7 However, what things were gain to me, these have I counted loss for Christ.
Toda te stvari, ki so bile zame dobiček, te sem štel izgubo za Kristusa.
8 More than that, I count all things to be a loss compared to the far greater value of knowing Christ Jesus, my Lord, for whom I suffered the loss of all things, and count them nothing but refuse, that I may gain Christ
Da, nedvomno in vse stvari štejem le za izgubo zaradi odličnosti spoznanja Kristusa Jezusa, svojega Gospoda, za katerega sem pretrpel izgubo vseh stvari in jih štejem le za iztrebek, da lahko pridobim Kristusa,
9 and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own, that which is of the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith;
in najden bom v njem, ne ker bi imel svojo lastno pravičnost, ki je iz postave, temveč to, ki je po Kristusovi veri, pravičnost, ki je od Boga, po veri;
10 that I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, becoming conformed to his death;
da bi lahko spoznal njega in moč njegovega vstajenja in udeležbo njegovih trpljenj in postal podoben njegovi smrti;
11 if by any means I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.

12 Not that I have already obtained, or am already made perfect; but I press on, if it is so that I may take hold of that for which also I was taken hold of by Christ Jesus.
Ne da bi že dospel ali bi bil že popoln; vendar si prizadevam za tem, če bi lahko željno vzel to, zaradi česar sem tudi jaz željno vzet od Kristusa Jezusa.
13 Brothers, I do not regard myself as having taken hold of it, but one thing I do. Forgetting the things which are behind, and reaching forward to the things which are ahead,
Bratje, ne štejem se, da sem željno vzet, toda delam to eno stvar in pozabljam te stvari, ki so zadaj in se iztegujem k tem stvarem, ki so spredaj;
14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
pritiskam proti cilju zaradi nagrade visoke poklicanosti od Boga v Kristusu Jezusu.
15 Let us therefore, as many as are perfect, think this way. If in anything you think otherwise, God will also reveal that to you.
Bodimo torej, kolikor nas je popolnih, takega mišljenja; in če ste v katerikoli stvari drugače misleči, vam bo Bog razodel še to.
16 Nevertheless, to what we have attained, let us walk by the same rule, being of the same mind.
Pa vendar, kateri smo že dospeli, živimo po istem načelu, mislimo isto stvar.
17 Brothers, be imitators together of me, and note those who walk this way, even as you have us for an example.
Bratje, bodite skupaj moji posnemovalci in zapomnite si tiste, ki živijo tako, kakor imate nas za zgled.
18 For many, of whom I have often told you, and now tell you with tears, live as enemies of the cross of Christ,
(Kajti mnogi živijo, o katerih sem vam pogosto povedal in vam sedaj govorim jokaje, da so sovražniki Kristusovega križa;
19 whose end is destruction, whose god is the belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who think about earthly things.
katerih konec je uničenje, katerih Bog je njihov trebuh in katerih slava je v njihovi sramoti, ki mislijo zemeljske stvari.)
20 For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ;
Kajti naše državljanstvo je v nebesih, od koder tudi pričakujemo Odrešenika, Gospoda Jezusa Kristusa,
21 who will transform our lowly body into the likeness of his glorious body, according to the power by which he is able even to subject all things to himself.
ki bo, glede na delovanje, s katerim si je zmožen k sebi podjarmiti celó vse stvari, spremenil naša nizkotna telesa, da bodo oblikovana podobno njegovemu veličastnemu telesu.
