< Matthew 7 >
1 "Do not judge, so that you won't be judged.
“Mũtigaciirithanagie nĩgeetha na inyuĩ mũtikanaciirithio.
2 For with whatever judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with whatever measure you measure, it will be measured to you.
Nĩgũkorwo o ta ũrĩa mũtuagĩra andũ arĩa angĩ ciira, noguo na inyuĩ mũgaatuĩrwo ciira, na gĩthimi kĩrĩa mũthimanagĩra nakĩo, no kĩo mũrĩthimagĩrwo nakĩo.
3 And why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?
“Nĩ kĩĩ gĩtũmaga wone kĩhuti kĩrĩa kĩrĩ riitho rĩa mũrũ wa thoguo, no ũkaaga kuona mũgogo ũrĩa ũrĩ riitho rĩaku wee mwene?
4 Or how will you tell your brother, 'Let me remove the speck from your eye;' and look, the log is in your own eye?
Wahota atĩa kwĩra mũrũ wa thoguo atĩrĩ, ‘Reke ngũrute kĩhuti kĩu kĩrĩ riitho rĩaku,’ o rĩrĩa wee mwene ũrĩ na mũgogo riitho rĩaku?
5 You hypocrite. First remove the log out of your own eye, and then you can see clearly to remove the speck out of your brother's eye.
Wee hinga ĩno, amba ũrute mũgogo ũcio ũrĩ riitho rĩaku, nĩguo wone wega na ũhote kũruta kĩhuti kĩrĩa kĩrĩ riitho rĩa mũrũ wa thoguo.
6 "Do not give that which is holy to the dogs, neither throw your pearls before the pigs, or they will trample them under their feet and turn and tear you to pieces.
“Mũtikanahe magui kĩndũ kĩrĩa kĩamũre, na mũtikanaikĩrie ngũrwe ruru cianyu. Mũngĩĩka ũguo-rĩ, ingĩrangĩrĩria ruru na magũrũ ma cio, icooke imũgarũrũke, imũtiihangie.
7 "Ask, and it will be given to you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you.
“Hooyai na nĩmũkũheo; mathaai na nĩmũkuona; ringaringai mũrango na nĩmũkũhingũrĩrwo.
8 For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened.
Nĩgũkorwo ũrĩa wothe ũhooyaga nĩaheagwo, na ũrĩa ũmaathaga nĩonaga, na ũrĩa ũringaringaga mũrango, nĩahingũragĩrwo.
9 Or who is there among you, who, if his son will ask him for bread, will give him a stone?
“Na rĩrĩ, nũũ wanyu ũngĩĩtio mũgate nĩ mwana wake amũhe ihiga?
10 Or if he will ask for a fish, who will give him a serpent?
Kana amwĩtie thamaki nake amũhe nyoka?
11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him.
Angĩkorwo inyuĩ, o na mũrĩ ooru, nĩmũũĩ kũhe ciana cianyu iheo njega-rĩ, githĩ Ithe wanyu ũrĩa ũrĩ igũrũ ndagakĩrĩrĩria kũhe iheo njega kũrĩ arĩa mamũhooyaga!
12 Therefore whatever you desire for people to do to you, so also you should do to them; for this is the Law and the Prophets.
Nĩ ũndũ ũcio, maũndũ-inĩ mothe, ĩkagai andũ arĩa angĩ ũrĩa mũngĩenda mamwĩkage, nĩgũkorwo ũcio nĩguo Watho wa Musa na Ũrutani wa Anabii.
13 "Enter in by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many are those who enter in by it.
“Toonyerai mũromo ũrĩa mũceke. Nĩgũkorwo mũromo nĩ mwariĩ na njĩra nĩ njariĩ ĩrĩa yerekeire rĩũrĩro, na andũ arĩa matoonyagĩra ho nĩ aingĩ.
14 How narrow is the gate, and difficult is the way that leads to life. Few are those who find it.
No mũromo nĩ mũkunderu na njĩra nĩ njeke ĩrĩa ĩkinyaga muoyo-inĩ, na andũ arĩa mamĩonaga nĩ anini.
15 "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravening wolves.
“Mwĩhũgagei anabii a maheeni. Mokaga kũrĩ inyuĩ mehumbĩte njũa cia ngʼondu, no thĩinĩ wao nĩ njũũi ndĩani.
16 By their fruits you will know them. Do you gather grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles?
Nĩmũrĩmamenyaga na maciaro mao. Kaĩ thabibũ igĩtuuagwo mĩtĩ-inĩ ya mĩigua, kana ngũyũ igatuuo kuuma mahiũ-inĩ ma nyeki?
17 Even so, every good tree produces good fruit; but the corrupt tree produces evil fruit.
Ũguo noguo, mũtĩ wothe mwega ũciaraga maciaro mega, no mũtĩ mũũru ũciaraga maciaro mooru.
18 A good tree cannot produce evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree produce good fruit.
Mũtĩ mwega ndũngĩciara maciaro mooru, naguo mũtĩ mũũru ndũngĩciara maciaro mega.
19 Every tree that does not grow good fruit is cut down, and thrown into the fire.
Mũtĩ o wothe ũtaciaraga maciaro mega nĩgũtemwo ũtemagwo ũgaikio mwaki-inĩ.
20 Therefore, by their fruits you will know them.
Ũguo nĩguo mũrĩmamenyaga nĩ ũndũ wa maciaro mao.
21 Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
“To mũndũ ũrĩa ũnjĩtaga, ‘Mwathani, Mwathani,’ ũgaatoonya ũthamaki wa igũrũ, no nĩ ũrĩa wĩkaga ũrĩa Baba ũrĩa ũrĩ igũrũ endaga.
22 Many will tell me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, did not we prophesy in your name, in your name cast out demons, and in your name do many mighty works?'
23 And then I will tell them, 'I never knew you. Depart from me, you who practice lawlessness.'
Hĩndĩ ĩyo nĩngameera wega atĩrĩ, ‘Niĩ ndirĩ hĩndĩ ndaamũũĩ o na rĩ. Eherai harĩ niĩ, inyuĩ mwĩkaga ũũru!’
24 "Everyone therefore who hears these words of mine, and does them, will be compared to a wise man, who built his house on a rock.
“Nĩ ũndũ ũcio-rĩ, mũndũ o wothe ũiguaga ciugo ici ciakwa na ageeka ũrĩa ciugĩte, ahaana ta mũndũ mũũgĩ ũrĩa wakire nyũmba yake igũrũ rĩa rwaro rwa ihiga.
25 And the rain came down, the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.
Nayo mbura ĩkiura, na njũũĩ ikĩiyũra, naruo rũhuho rũkĩhurutana nacio ikĩhũũra nyũmba ĩyo na nditi, no nyũmba ĩyo ndĩagũire, tondũ mũthingi wayo wakĩtwo igũrũ rĩa rwaro rwa ihiga.
26 And everyone who hears these words of mine, and does not do them will be like a foolish man, who built his house on the sand.
No mũndũ o wothe ũiguaga ciugo ici ciakwa na ndekaga ũrĩa ciugĩte ahaana ta mũndũ mũkĩĩgu ũrĩa wakire nyũmba yake mũthanga igũrũ.
27 And the rain came down, the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat on that house; and it fell—and great was its fall."
Nayo mbura ĩkiura, njũũĩ ikĩiyũra, naruo rũhuho rũkĩhurutana nacio ikĩhũũra nyũmba ĩyo na nditi, nayo nyũmba ĩyo ĩkĩmomoka na kũgũa kũnene.”
28 And it happened, when Jesus had finished saying these things, that the crowds were astonished at his teaching,
Rĩrĩa Jesũ aarĩkirie kuuga maũndũ macio, kĩrĩndĩ kĩu gĩkĩgega nĩ ũndũ wa ũrutani wake,
29 for he taught them with authority, and not like their scribes.
tondũ aarutanaga ta mũndũ warĩ na ũhoti, na ti ta ũrĩa arutani ao a watho maarutanaga.
