Matthew 16
1 The Pharisees and Sadducees came, and testing him, asked him to show them a sign from heaven.
Os fariseus e saduceus vieram, e testando-o, pediram-lhe que lhes mostrasse um sinal do céu.
2 But he answered and said to them, "When it is evening, you say, 'It will be fair weather, for the sky is red.'
Mas ele lhes respondeu: “Quando é noite, você diz: 'Será bom tempo, pois o céu está vermelho'”.
3 In the morning, 'It will be foul weather today, for the sky is red and threatening.' You know how to discern the appearance of the sky, but you cannot discern the signs of the times.
Pela manhã, 'Hoje vai fazer mau tempo, pois o céu está vermelho e ameaçador'. Hipócritas! Vocês sabem discernir a aparência do céu, mas não conseguem discernir os sinais dos tempos!
4 An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and there will be no sign given to it, except the sign of Jonah." He left them, and departed.
Uma geração má e adúltera procura um sinal, e não haverá nenhum sinal dado a ela, exceto o sinal do profeta Jonas”. Ele os deixou e partiu.
5 The disciples came to the other side and had forgotten to take bread.
Os discípulos vieram para o outro lado e se esqueceram de levar pão.
6 Jesus said to them, "Watch out and guard yourselves against the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees."
Jesus disse-lhes: “Tende cuidado e cuidado com o fermento dos fariseus e saduceus”.
7 They reasoned among themselves, saying, "We brought no bread."
Eles raciocinaram entre si, dizendo: “Nós não trouxemos pão”.
8 But Jesus, becoming aware of this, said, "You of little faith, why are you discussing among yourselves about having no bread?
Jesus, percebendo isso, disse: “Por que vocês raciocinam entre vocês, vocês de pouca fé, porque não trouxeram pão?
9 Do you still not understand? Do you not remember the five loaves for the five thousand, and how many baskets you took up?
Você ainda não percebe ou não se lembra dos cinco pães para os cinco mil, e quantas cestas você pegou,
10 Nor the seven loaves for the four thousand, and how many baskets you took up?
ou os sete pães para os quatro mil, e quantas cestas você pegou?
11 Why is it that you do not understand that I did not speak to you concerning bread? But beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees."
Como você não percebe que eu não falei com você a respeito de pão? Mas tenha cuidado com o fermento dos fariseus e saduceus”.
12 Then they understood that he did not tell them to beware of the yeast of bread, but of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
Então eles entenderam que ele não lhes disse para terem cuidado com o fermento do pão, mas com os ensinamentos dos fariseus e saduceus.
13 Now when Jesus came into the parts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, "Who do people say that the Son of Man is?"
Agora, quando Jesus entrou nas partes de Cesaréia de Filipe, perguntou a seus discípulos, dizendo: “Quem dizem os homens que eu, o Filho do Homem, sou?
14 They said, "Some say John the Baptist, some, Elijah, and others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets."
Eles disseram: “Alguns dizem: João Batista, alguns, Elias e outros, Jeremias ou um dos profetas”.
15 He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?"
Ele disse a eles: “Mas quem você diz que eu sou?”
16 Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."
Simon Peter respondeu: “Tu és o Cristo, o Filho do Deus vivo”.
17 And Jesus answered him, "Blessed are you, Simon Bar Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven.
Jesus lhe respondeu: “Abençoado sejais vós, Simão Bar Jonas, porque a carne e o sangue não vos revelou isto, mas meu Pai que está nos céus”.
18 I also tell you that you are Peter, and on this Rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell will not prevail against it. (Hadēs g86)
Também vos digo que sois Pedro, e sobre esta pedra edificarei minha assembléia, e as portas do Hades não prevalecerão contra ela. (Hadēs g86)
19 I will give to you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven."
Eu vos darei as chaves do Reino dos Céus, e tudo o que ligardes na terra terá sido ligado no céu; e tudo o que libertardes na terra terá sido libertado no céu”.
20 Then he commanded the disciples that they should tell no one that he is the Christ.
Então ordenou aos discípulos que não dissessem a ninguém que ele era Jesus, o Cristo”.
21 From that time, Jesus began to show his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the elders, chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and the third day be raised up.
A partir daquele momento, Jesus começou a mostrar a seus discípulos que devia ir a Jerusalém e sofrer muitas coisas dos anciãos, chefes dos sacerdotes e escribas, e ser morto, e ao terceiro dia ser ressuscitado.
22 Peter took him aside, and began to rebuke him, saying, "Far be it from you, Lord. This will never be done to you."
Peter o tomou de lado e começou a repreendê-lo, dizendo: “Longe de ti, Senhor! Isto nunca será feito a ti”.
23 But he turned, and said to Peter, "Get behind me, Satan. You are a stumbling block to me, for you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of humans."
Mas ele se virou e disse a Pedro: “Fique atrás de mim, Satanás! Você é uma pedra de tropeço para mim, pois não está se fixando nas coisas de Deus, mas nas coisas dos homens”.
24 Then Jesus said to his disciples, "If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
Então Jesus disse a seus discípulos: “Se alguém deseja vir após mim, que se negue a si mesmo, tome sua cruz, e me siga.
25 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, and whoever will lose his life for my sake will find it.
Pois quem quiser salvar sua vida, perdê-la-á, e quem perder sua vida por minha causa, encontrá-la-á”.
26 For what will it profit a person, if he gains the whole world, and forfeits his life? Or what will a person give in exchange for his life?
Para que beneficiará um homem se ele ganhar o mundo inteiro e perder sua vida? Ou o que um homem dará em troca de sua vida?
27 For the Son of Man will come in the glory of his Father with his angels, and then he will render to everyone according to his deeds.
Pois o Filho do Homem virá na glória de seu Pai com seus anjos, e então renderá a todos de acordo com suas obras.
28 Truly I tell you, there are some standing here who will in no way taste of death, until they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom."
Certamente vos digo que há aqui alguns que não provarão de modo algum a morte até verem o Filho do Homem chegando em seu Reino”.
