Matthew 11
1 And it happened that when Jesus had finished instructing his twelve disciples, he departed from there to teach and preach in their cities.
耶稣吩咐完十二门徒后就离开了，到附近各城教导传道。
2 Now when John heard in prison the works of the Christ, he sent his disciples
约翰被关在监牢中时，听到基督所做之事，便派他的门徒
3 and said to him, "Are you the one who is to come, or should we look for another?"
以他的名义去询问耶稣：“你是我们期盼到来之人吗？还是我们必须继续寻找其他人？”
4 And Jesus answered them, "Go and tell John the things which you hear and see:
耶稣回答：“你们回去吧，把听见和看见的都告诉约翰，
5 the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have good news preached to them.
盲者可见，瘸者可行，麻风患者治愈，聋者可以听见，亡者复活，贫苦者听到福音。
6 And blessed is he who is not offended by me."
不拒绝我者，必被祝福。”
7 And as these went their way, Jesus began to say to the crowds concerning John, "What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind?
他们继续前行，耶稣对众人讲起约翰。他说：“在荒野中时，你会期待什么？被风吹动的芦苇吗？
8 But what did you go out to see? A man in soft clothing? Look, those who wear soft things are in kings' houses.
你们到底想要看什么？身穿华服之人吗？衣着就像王宫中居住的人一样吗？
9 But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and much more than a prophet.
那么，你们到那里想要看什么？先知吗？是的，但我要告诉你，他不只是一名先知。
10 This is the one of whom it is written, 'Look, I send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way before you.'
他便是经文中所写那人：‘我差遣使者到你前面，为你备好你的道路。’
11 Truly I tell you, among those who are born of women there has not arisen anyone greater than John the Baptist; yet he who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.
告诉你们实话，在人类世界中，任何人都不如施洗者约翰伟大，但在天国中，他却是最微不足道的那一个。
12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has suffered violence, and the violent are taking it by force.
从施洗约翰之时到现在，天国不断遭受猛烈攻击，暴徒企图以武力将其占为己有。
13 For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.
因为在约翰到来之前，所有的先知和律法都在讲述上帝之道。
14 And if you are willing to receive it, this is Elijah, who is to come.
如果你们准备好相信，那么约翰就是你们应该期待的以利亚。
15 He who has ears to hear, let him hear.
如果你有耳朵，就要去听。
16 "But to what should I compare this generation? It is like children sitting in the marketplaces, who call to their companions
我该把这代人比作什么？它就像小孩子坐在市场中，喊着彼此的名字说：
17 and say, 'We played the flute for you, and you did not dance. We wailed in mourning, and you did not mourn.'
‘我们给你们吹笛子，你们却不跳舞，我们唱哀歌，你们也不哭泣。’
18 For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, 'He has a demon.'
约翰前来，禁食禁水，人们说‘他是鬼附体！’
19 The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, 'Look, a gluttonous man and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.' But wisdom is justified by her children."
然后人子来了，禁食禁水，人们却说：‘你看，这人贪食好酒，与税吏和罪人为友。’但通过他的行为，显示出智慧即为正道。”
20 Then he began to denounce the cities in which most of his mighty works had been done, because they did not repent.
随后，耶稣开始批判他曾行过大多数上帝神迹的城，因为那里的人不肯悔改。
21 "Woe to you, Chorazin. Woe to you, Bethsaida. For if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon which were done in you, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.
“哥拉逊啊，你应感到羞愧！伯赛大啊，你应感到羞愧！在你们那里所行上帝神迹，如果出现在推罗和西顿，城中之人早已披麻蒙灰，想要悔改。
22 But I tell you, it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon on the day of judgment than for you.
但告诉你吧，在审判日那天，推罗和西顿的情况会比你们更好。
23 And you, Capernaum, who are exalted to heaven, you will be brought down to hell. For if the mighty works had been done in Sodom which were done in you, it would have remained until this day. (Hadēs g86)
至于迦百农，你们会升入天堂吗？不，你们必会跌入冥府。在你们那里行过的上帝神迹，如果行在索多玛，那座城还会存留到今天。 (Hadēs g86)
24 But I tell you that it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom, on the day of judgment, than for you."
但我告诉你们，在审判日那天，索多那城所受的惩罚可比你们轻。”
25 At that time, Jesus answered, "I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you hid these things from the wise and intelligent, and revealed them to little children.
然后耶稣祈祷：“天父啊，天地之主，我赞美你，因你向智慧和聪明之人隐藏了这一切，却向普罗大众显明。
26 Yes, Father, for so it was well-pleasing in your sight.
天父啊，是的，这样做让你欢喜。
27 All things have been delivered to me by my Father. No one knows the Son, except the Father; neither does anyone know the Father, except the Son, and he to whom the Son desires to reveal him.
天父已将这一切交给我，只有天父理解其子，只有天父之子及其选择进行启示之人，才理解天父。
28 "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest.
所有挣扎负重之人，到我这里来。我必让你们休息。
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls.
接受我的轭，向我学习，我内心善良谦卑，从我这里你将获得需要的休息。
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."
我的轭很轻柔，我的负重很轻。”
