< Matthew 11 >
1 And it happened that when Jesus had finished instructing his twelve disciples, he departed from there to teach and preach in their cities.
ᎯᎠᏃ ᏄᎵᏍᏔᏅᎩ; ᏥᏌ ᎤᏍᏆᏛ ᏕᎧᏁᏤᎲ ᏔᎳᏚ ᎢᏯᏂᏛ ᎬᏩᏍᏓᏩᏗᏙᎯ, ᎤᏂᎩᏒᎩ ᎾᎿᎭᏂ, ᏚᏕᏲᎤᏒᎩ ᎠᎴ ᎤᎵᏥᏙᏅᏒᎩ ᏚᏂᏚᎿᎭᎥᎢ.
2 Now when John heard in prison the works of the Christ, he sent his disciples
ᎿᎭᏉᏃ ᏣᏂ ᏣᏥᏍᏚᎲ ᏧᏛᎦᏅ ᏄᏍᏛ ᏚᎸᏫᏍᏓᏁᎲ ᎦᎶᏁᏛ, ᏙᏧᏅᏎ ᎠᏂᏔᎵ ᎬᏩᏍᏓᏩᏗᏙᎯ,
3 and said to him, "Are you the one who is to come, or should we look for another?"
ᎯᎠ ᏅᏓᏳᏪᏎᎸᎩ; ᏂᎯᏍᎪ Ꮎ ᎤᎷᎯᏍᏗ ᏥᎩ, ᏥᎪᎨ ᏅᏩᏓᎴ ᎣᏥᎦᏖᏃᎮᏍᏗ?
4 And Jesus answered them, "Go and tell John the things which you hear and see:
ᏥᏌᏃ ᎤᏁᏨ ᎯᎠ ᏂᏚᏪᏎᎸᎩ; ᏥᏍᏕᎾ ᏣᏂ ᏫᎡᏍᏗᏃᎲᏏ ᏂᎦᎥ ᎢᏍᏓᏛᎩᏍᎬᎢ ᎠᎴ ᎢᏍᏗᎪᏩᏘᏍᎬᎢ:
5 the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have good news preached to them.
ᏗᏂᎨᏫ ᎠᏂᎪᏩᏘᎭ, ᏗᏂᏲᎤᎵᏃ ᎠᏁᏙᎭ, ᎠᏓᏰᏍᎩ ᏧᏂᏢᎩ ᏚᎾᏗᏩᏍᎦ, ᏧᏂᎵᎡᎾᏃ ᎠᎾᏛᎩᎭ, ᏧᏂᏲᎱᏒᎯᏃ ᏕᎨᎦᎴᏗᎭ ᎤᏲᏃ ᎢᏳᎾᏛᎿᎭᏕᎩ ᎣᏍᏛ ᎧᏃᎮᏛ ᎢᎨᎦᎵᏥᏙᏁᎭ.
6 And blessed is he who is not offended by me."
ᎠᎴ ᎣᏏᏳ ᎢᏳᎵᏍᏓᏁᏗ ᎩᎶᏂᏗᏥᏲᏕᏍᏗᏍᎬᎾ ᎢᎨᏎᏍᏗ.
7 And as these went their way, Jesus began to say to the crowds concerning John, "What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind?
ᎢᎤᏁᏅᏃ ᏥᏌ ᎤᎴᏅᎲᎩ ᎯᎠ ᏂᏚᏪᏎᎸᎩ ᎤᏂᏣᏘ ᏣᏂ ᏚᏃᎮᏓᏁᎸᎩ; ᎦᏙ ᎢᏣᎦᏔᏅᏎ ᎢᎾᎨᎢ? ᏩᏐᎾᏍᎪ ᎤᏃᎴ ᎤᏖᎸᎮᏍᎬᎢ?
8 But what did you go out to see? A man in soft clothing? Look, those who wear soft things are in kings' houses.
ᎦᏙᎨ ᎢᏣᎦᏔᏅᏎᎢ? ᎠᏍᎦᏯᏍᎪ ᏗᏩᎾᎨ ᏧᏄᏩᎢ? ᎬᏂᏳᏉ ᏗᏩᎾᎨ ᏧᎾᏄᏩᎢ ᎤᏂᎬᏫᏳᎯ ᏓᏂᏁᎸ ᎠᏁᎰᎢ.
9 But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and much more than a prophet.
ᎦᏙᎨ ᎢᏣᎦᏔᏅᏎᎢ? ᎠᏙᎴᎰᏍᎩᏍᎪ? ᎥᎥ, ᎢᏨᏲᏎᎭ, ᎠᎴ ᎤᏟᎯᏳ ᎡᏍᎦᏉ ᎠᏙᎴᎰᏍᎩ.
10 This is the one of whom it is written, 'Look, I send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way before you.'
ᎾᏍᎩᏍᎩᏂ ᎯᎠ Ꮎ ᎨᎪᏪᎸ ᎯᎠ ᎠᏥᏃᎮᎸᏍᎬ ᏥᏂᎬᏅ; ᎬᏂᏳᏉ, ᏥᏅᎵ ᏥᏅᏏᏓᏍᏗ ᏣᎧᏛ ᎢᎬᏱᏗᏢ, ᎾᏍᎩ ᏓᏣᏛᏅᎢᏍᏓᏁᎵ ᏣᎶᎯᏍᏗᏱ ᎢᎬᏱᏗᏢ.
11 Truly I tell you, among those who are born of women there has not arisen anyone greater than John the Baptist; yet he who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.
ᎤᏙᎯᏳᎯᏯ ᎯᎠ ᏂᏨᏪᏎᎭ, ᎠᏂᎨᏴ ᎬᏩᏂᎾᏄᎪᏫᏒᎯ ᏥᎩ ᎥᏝ ᎩᎶ ᏳᎾᏄᎪᏨ ᎬᏩᏓᎵᏁᎯᏕᏗ ᏣᏂ ᏗᏓᏬᏍᎩ; ᎠᏎᏃ ᎤᏍᏗᎧᏂ ᎦᎸᎳᏗ ᎡᎯ ᎤᎬᏫᏳᎯ ᎨᏒ ᎤᏟ ᎠᏥᎸᏉᏗᏳ ᎡᏍᎦᏉ ᏣᏂ.
12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has suffered violence, and the violent are taking it by force.
ᏣᏂᏃ ᏗᏓᏬᏍᎩ ᎤᎾᏄᎪᏨ ᏅᏓᎬᏩᏓᎴᏅᏛ ᎪᎯ ᎢᏯᏍᏘ ᎦᎸᎳᏗ ᎡᎯ ᎤᎬᏫᏳᎯ ᎨᏒ ᎠᎾᏁᎷᎩᎡᎭ, ᎠᎾᏁᎷᎩᏍᎩᏃ ᎬᏍᎦᎢᏍᏓᎩ ᏓᏂᏂᏱᎭ.
13 For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.
ᎾᏂᎥᏰᏃ ᎠᎾᏙᎴᎰᏍᎩ ᎠᎴ ᏗᎧᎿᎭᏩᏛᏍᏗ ᎠᎾᏙᎴᎰᏍᎬᎩ ᏣᏂ ᎤᎾᏄᎪᏥᎸ ᎢᏯᏍᏘ.
14 And if you are willing to receive it, this is Elijah, who is to come.
ᎢᏳᏃ ᏗᎨᏣᏓᏂᎸᎢᏍᏗ ᎨᏎᏍᏗ, ᎾᏍᎩ ᎯᎠ ᎢᎳᏯ ᎤᎷᎯᏍᏗ ᏥᎨᏒᎩ.
15 He who has ears to hear, let him hear.
ᎩᎶ ᏕᎦᎵᎷᎨᏍᏗ ᎤᏛᎪᏗᏱ ᎾᏍᎩ ᎠᏛᎩᏍᎨᏍᏗ.
16 "But to what should I compare this generation? It is like children sitting in the marketplaces, who call to their companions
ᎦᏙᎨ ᏙᏓᎦᏥᏯᏟᎶᏍᏔᏂ ᎯᎠ ᎪᎯ ᏣᏁᎭ? ᏗᏂᏲᎵᏉ ᎾᏍᎩᏯ ᎦᏃᏙᏗᏱ ᏣᏂᏃᎢ ᎠᎴ ᏥᏫᏓᏂᏯᏂᏍᎪ ᎤᏁᏓᏍᏗ;
17 and say, 'We played the flute for you, and you did not dance. We wailed in mourning, and you did not mourn.'
ᎠᎴ ᎯᎠ ᏥᏂᏓᏂᏪᏎᎰᎢ; ᎠᏤᎷᎩ ᎣᎬᏔᏅ ᏕᏨᏃᎩᎡᎸ, ᎠᏎᏃ ᎥᏝ ᏱᏣᎵᏍᎩᏒ; ᏙᏥᏴᎬᎩ ᎢᏣᏛᎪᏗ, ᎠᏎᏃ ᎥᏝ ᏱᏗᏣᏠᏱᎸ.
18 For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, 'He has a demon.'
ᏣᏂᏰᏃ ᎤᎷᏨᎩ ᎥᏝ ᏯᎵᏍᏓᏴᎲᏍᎨᎢ ᎠᎴ ᎥᏝ ᏯᏗᏔᏍᎨᎢ, ᎠᏎᏃ ᏂᎠᏂᏪᎭ; ᎠᏍᎩᎾ ᎤᏯᎠ.
19 The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, 'Look, a gluttonous man and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.' But wisdom is justified by her children."
ᏴᏫ ᎤᏪᏥ ᎤᎷᏨ ᎠᎵᏍᏓᏴᎲᏍᎦ ᎠᎴ ᎠᏗᏔᏍᎦ, ᎯᎠᏃ ᏂᎠᏂᏪᎭ; ᎬᏂᏳᏉ ᎠᏍᎦᏯ ᎤᎬᎥᏍᎩ ᎠᎵᏍᏓᏴᏗ ᎠᎴ ᎩᎦᎨ-ᎠᏗᏔᏍᏗ, ᎠᏕᎸ ᎠᏂᎩᏏᏙᎯ ᎠᎴ ᎠᏂᏍᏕᎾ ᎤᎾᎵᎢ. ᎠᏎᏃ ᎠᎦᏔᎿᎭᎢ ᏧᏪᏥ ᎣᏏᏳ ᎢᎬᏩᏰᎸᎭ.
20 Then he began to denounce the cities in which most of his mighty works had been done, because they did not repent.
ᎿᎭᏉᏃ ᎤᎴᏅᎲᎩ ᏚᎬᏍᎪᎸᏅᎩ ᏚᏂᏚᎲᎢ ᎾᎿᎭᎤᏟ ᎢᎦᎢ ᎤᏍᏆᏂᎪᏗ ᏚᎸᏫᏍᏓᏁᎸᎢ, ᏅᏓᎦᎵᏍᏙᏗᏍᎬᎩ ᏚᎾᏓᏅᏛ ᏂᏚᏂᏁᏟᏴᏒᎾ ᎨᏒᎢ.
21 "Woe to you, Chorazin. Woe to you, Bethsaida. For if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon which were done in you, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.
ᎤᏲᎢᏳ ᎢᏣᎵᏍᏓᏁᏗ ᎪᎴᏏᏂ, ᎤᏲᎢᏳ ᎢᏣᎵᏍᏓᏁᏗ ᏇᏣᏱᏗ; ᎢᏳᏰᏃ ᎤᏍᏆᏂᎪᏗ ᏕᎦᎸᏫᏍᏓᏁᎸ ᏂᎯ ᎢᏤᎲ ᏱᏙᎦᎸᏫᏍᏓᏁᎴ ᏔᏯ ᎠᎴ ᏌᏙᏂ, ᎪᎯᎩ ᏗᎬᏩᏂᏁᏟᏴᏛ ᏱᎨᏎ ᏚᎾᏓᏅᏛᎢ, ᏧᏏᏕᎾ ᏱᏚᎾᏄᏬᎡ ᎠᎴ ᎪᏍᏚ ᏳᎾᏓᏅᎵᏰᎡᎢ.
22 But I tell you, it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon on the day of judgment than for you.
ᎠᏎᏃ ᎯᎠ ᏂᏨᏪᏎᎭ; ᎡᏍᎦᏉ ᎢᎦᎢ ᎤᏂᎩᎵᏲᎢᏍᏗ ᎨᏎᏍᏗ ᏔᏯ ᎠᎴ ᏌᏙᏂ, ᏗᎫᎪᏙᏗᏱ ᎢᎦ ᎨᏎᏍᏗ, ᎤᏟᎯᏳ ᏂᎯ.
23 And you, Capernaum, who are exalted to heaven, you will be brought down to hell. For if the mighty works had been done in Sodom which were done in you, it would have remained until this day. (Hadēs )
ᏂᎯᏃ ᎨᏆᏂ ᎦᎸᎳᏗ ᎢᏴᏛ ᏤᏣᏌᎳᏓ, ᏨᏍᎩᏃᎢ ᏮᏓᏰᎶᎥᏔᏂ; ᎢᏳᏰᏃ ᎤᏍᏆᏂᎪᏗ ᏕᎦᎸᏫᏍᏓᏁᎸ ᏂᎯ ᎢᏤᎲ ᏱᏙᎦᎸᏫᏍᏓᏁᎴ ᏐᏓᎻᏱ, ᎠᏏ ᎪᎯ ᎨᏒ ᏱᏂᎬᏩᏍᏕᏉ. (Hadēs )
24 But I tell you that it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom, on the day of judgment, than for you."
ᎠᏎᏃ ᎯᎠ ᏂᏨᏪᏎᎭ; ᎡᏍᎦᏉ ᎢᎦᎢ ᎤᏂᎩᎵᏲᎢᏍᏗ ᎨᏎᏍᏗ ᏐᎵᎻ ᏗᎫᎪᏙᏗᏱ ᎢᎦ ᎨᏎᏍᏗ, ᎤᏟᎯᏳ ᏂᎯ.
25 At that time, Jesus answered, "I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you hid these things from the wise and intelligent, and revealed them to little children.
ᎾᎯᏳ ᏥᏌ ᎤᏁᏨ ᎯᎠ ᏄᏪᏒᎩ; ᎬᏯᎵᎡᎵᏤᎭ ᎡᏙᏓ, ᏣᎬᏫᏳᎯ ᎦᎸᎳᏗ ᎠᎴ ᎡᎶᎯ, ᎾᏍᎩ ᎯᎠ ᏥᏕᎲᏍᎦᎳᏁᎸ ᎠᏂᏏᎾᏌᏂ ᎠᎴ ᎠᏁᏯᏔᎯ, ᏗᏂᏲᎵᏃ ᏥᏕᎯᎾᏄᎪᏫᏎᎸ.
26 Yes, Father, for so it was well-pleasing in your sight.
ᎥᎥ, ᎡᏙᏓ, ᎾᏍᎩᏰᏃ ᎣᏏᏳ ᏣᏰᎸᏅᎯ.
27 All things have been delivered to me by my Father. No one knows the Son, except the Father; neither does anyone know the Father, except the Son, and he to whom the Son desires to reveal him.
ᏂᎦᎥ ᎪᎱᏍᏗ ᏓᎩᏲᎯᏎᎸ ᎡᏙᏓ, ᎠᎴ ᎥᏝ ᎩᎶ ᏯᎦᏔᎭ ᎤᏪᏥ ᎤᏙᏓᏉ ᎤᏩᏒ; ᎥᏝ ᎠᎴ ᎩᎶ ᏯᎦᏔᎭ ᎠᎦᏴᎵᎨᎢ ᎤᏪᏥ ᎤᏩᏒ, ᎩᎶᏃ ᎾᏍᎩ ᏥᎾᏄᎪᏫᏏ ᎡᎳ ᎤᏪᏥ.
28 "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest.
ᎡᏤᎾ, ᎠᏴ ᏍᎩᎷᏥ, ᏂᎦᏗᏳ ᎠᎩᎵᏯ ᏗᏥᎸᏫᏍᏓᏁᎯ, ᎠᎴ ᎦᎨᏛ ᏗᏣᎵᏎᎯ, ᎠᏴᏃ ᏓᏨᏯᏪᏐᎸᏍᏔᏂ.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls.
ᎢᏥᏴ ᎠᏆᎩᎳᎾᎶ ᎠᎴ ᏍᎩᏯᏕᎶᏆᏏ, ᎠᏆᏓᏅᏘᏳᏰᏃ ᎠᎴ ᎠᏆᏓᏙᎵᏍᏗᏳ ᎠᎩᎾᏫᏱ, ᏓᏥᏩᏛᎯᏃ ᏗᏣᏓᏅᏙ ᏧᏯᏪᏐᎸᏍᏗᏱ.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."
ᎠᏆᎩᎳᎾᎶᏰᏃ ᏄᎯᏐᏛᎾ, ᎦᎵᏎᎲᏃ ᎤᏓᏌᎧᎯᏳ.
