Matthew 10
1 And he called to himself his twelve disciples, and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every disease and every sickness.
Llamó a sus 12 discípulos y les dio autoridad sobre los espíritus impuros para que los echaran fuera y sanaran toda enfermedad y toda dolencia.
2 Now the names of the twelve apostles are these. The first, Simon, who is called Peter; and Andrew his brother; and James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;
Los nombres de los 12 apóstoles son: Primero, Simón Pedro, su hermano Andrés, Jacobo, hijo de Zebedeo, su hermano Juan,
3 Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus;
Felipe, Bartolomé, Tomás, Mateo el publicano, Jacobo, hijo de Alfeo, Tadeo,
4 Simon the Zealot, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.
Simón el cananita, y Judas Iscariote, quien lo traicionó.
5 Jesus sent these twelve out, and commanded them, saying, "Do not go among the non-Jews, and do not enter into any city of the Samaritans.
Jesús envió a estos 12 y les ordenó: No vayan a los gentiles, ni entren en la región de Samaria,
6 Rather, go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
sino vayan antes a las ovejas perdidas de la casa de Israel.
7 And as you go, proclaim, saying, 'The kingdom of heaven is near.'
Vayan y proclamen: El reino celestial se acercó.
8 Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. Freely you received, freely give.
Sanen enfermos, resuciten muertos, limpien leprosos y echen fuera demonios. Gratuitamente recibieron ustedes. Den del mismo modo.
9 Do not take any gold, nor silver, nor copper in your money belts.
No se provean de oro, ni plata, ni cobre en sus cinturones,
10 Take no bag for your journey, neither two tunics, nor shoes, nor staff: for the laborer is worthy of his food.
ni provisiones para el camino, ni dos túnicas, ni sandalias, ni bordón, porque el obrero es digno de su sustento.
11 And into whatever city or village you enter, find out who in it is worthy; and stay there until you go on.
En cualquier ciudad o aldea donde entren, infórmense quién es digno en ella, y posen allí hasta que salgan.
12 And as you enter into the household, greet it.
Al entrar en la casa, salúdenla.
13 And if the household is worthy, let your peace come on it, but if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you.
Si en verdad la casa es digna, repose la paz de ustedes sobre ella, pero si no es digna, vuélvase su paz a ustedes.
14 And whoever does not receive you, nor hear your words, as you leave that house or that city, shake off the dust from your feet.
Cualquiera que no los reciba, ni oiga sus palabras, al salir de aquella casa o ciudad, sacudan el polvo de sus pies.
15 Truly I tell you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city.
En verdad les digo que en el día del juicio, será más tolerable para la tierra de Sodoma y Gomorra que para aquella ciudad.
16 "Look, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be cunning as snakes and innocent as doves.
Recuerden, Yo los envío como a ovejas en medio de lobos. Por tanto sean prudentes como serpientes, y sencillos como palomas.
17 But beware of people: for they will deliver you up to councils, and in their synagogues they will scourge you.
Tengan cuidado de los hombres, porque los entregarán a los tribunales y los azotarán en las congregaciones judías.
18 Yes, and you will be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony to them and to the nations.
Los llevarán aun ante gobernadores y reyes por causa de Mí para testimonio a ellos y a los gentiles.
19 But when they deliver you over, do not be anxious how or what you will say, for it will be given you in that hour what you will say.
Cuando los entreguen, no se preocupen en cuanto a cómo o qué dirán, porque en esa hora se les dará lo que deben decir.
20 For it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you.
Porque no son ustedes quienes hablan, sino el Espíritu de su Padre es Quien habla por ustedes.
21 "And brother will deliver up brother to death, and the father his child. Children will rise up against parents, and cause them to be put to death.
El hermano entregará a su hermano a muerte, y el padre al hijo. Los hijos se rebelarán contra los padres y los matarán.
22 And you will be hated by everyone because of my name, but the one who perseveres to the end will be saved.
Ustedes serán aborrecidos por todos a causa de mi Nombre, pero el que persevere hasta el fin será salvo.
23 But when they persecute you in one city, flee to the other. And if they persecute you in the other, flee to the next. For truly I tell you, you will not have gone through the cities of Israel before the Son of Man comes.
Cuando los persigan en esta ciudad huyan a la otra. Porque en verdad les digo: No terminarán ustedes de recorrer las ciudades de Israel, hasta cuando venga el Hijo del Hombre.
24 "A disciple is not above the teacher, nor a servant above his lord.
Un discípulo no está por encima del maestro, ni un esclavo por encima de su amo.
25 It is enough for the disciple that he be like his teacher, and the servant like his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebul, how much more those of his household.
Basta al discípulo que sea como su maestro, y al esclavo como su señor. Si al amo de la casa [lo] llamaron Beelzebul, ¡cuánto más a los de su casa!
26 Therefore do not be afraid of them, for there is nothing covered that will not be revealed; and hidden that will not be known.
Así que, no les teman, porque nada hay encubierto que no se manifieste, ni oculto que no se sepa.
27 What I tell you in the darkness, speak in the light; and what you hear whispered in the ear, proclaim on the housetops.
Lo que les digo en la oscuridad díganlo en la luz, y lo que oyen al oído proclámenlo desde las azoteas.
28 And do not be afraid of those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul. Rather, fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. (Geenna g1067)
No teman a los que matan el cuerpo pero no pueden matar el alma. Teman más bien al que puede destruir el alma y el cuerpo en el infierno. (Geenna g1067)
29 "Are not two sparrows sold for an assarion coin? Not one of them falls on the ground apart from your Father's will,
¿No se venden dos pajarillos por un centavo? A pesar de eso, ni uno de ellos cae a tierra sin [que lo permita ]el Padre de ustedes.
30 but the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
En cuanto a ustedes, aun todos los cabellos de la cabeza están contados.
31 Therefore do not be afraid. You are of more value than many sparrows.
Así que, no teman, más valen ustedes que muchos pajarillos.
32 Everyone therefore who confesses me before people, him I will also confess before my Father who is in heaven.
Cualquiera, pues, que me confiese delante de los hombres, Yo también lo confesaré delante de mi Padre celestial.
33 But whoever denies me before people, him I will also deny before my Father who is in heaven.
Pero cualquiera que me niegue delante de los hombres, Yo también lo negaré delante de mi Padre celestial.
34 "Do not think that I came to send peace on the earth. I did not come to send peace, but a sword.
No piensen que vine a traer paz a la tierra. No vine a traer paz, sino espada.
35 For I came to set a man at odds against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.
Porque vine para poner en enemistad al hombre contra su padre, a la hija contra su madre, y a la nuera contra su suegra.
36 And a person's foes will be those of his own household.
Los enemigos del hombre serán los de su casa.
37 Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
El que ama a padre o madre más que a Mí, no es digno de Mí. El que ama a hijo o hija más que a Mí, no es digno de Mí.
38 And whoever does not take his cross and follow after me, is not worthy of me.
El que no toma su cruz y sigue tras Mí, no es digno de Mí.
39 Whoever seeks his life will lose it; and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.
El que halla su vida la perderá, y el que pierde su vida por causa de Mí, la hallará.
40 Whoever receives you receives me, and whoever receives me receives him who sent me.
El que los recibe a ustedes, me recibe a Mí, y el que me recibe, recibe al que me envió.
41 The one who receives a prophet because he is a prophet will receive a prophet's reward, and the one who receives a righteous person because he is a righteous person will receive a righteous person's reward.
El que recibe a un profeta por el nombre de profeta, recibirá recompensa de profeta, y el que recibe a un justo por el nombre de justo, recibirá recompensa de justo.
42 And whoever gives one of these little ones just a cup of cold water to drink because he is a disciple, truly I tell you he will in no way lose his reward."
Cualquiera que dé a beber tan solo un vaso de agua fría a uno de estos pequeños por cuanto es discípulo, en verdad les digo que de ningún modo perderá su recompensa.
