< Mark 16 >

1 When the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, bought spices, that they might come and anoint him.
ⲁ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉⲡⲥⲁⲃⲃⲁⲧⲟⲛ ⲟⲩⲉⲓⲛⲉ ⲙⲁⲣⲓⲁ ⲧⲙⲁⲅⲇⲁⲗⲏⲛⲏ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙⲁⲣⲓⲁ ⲧⲁⲓⲁⲕⲱⲃⲟⲥ ⲙⲛⲥⲁⲗⲱⲙⲏ ⲁⲩϣⲉⲡϩⲉⲛϩⲏⲛⲉ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉⲩⲉⲉⲓ ⲛⲥⲉⲧⲁϩⲥϥ
2 Very early on the first day of the week, they came to the tomb when the sun had risen.
ⲃ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ϩⲧⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲙⲁⲧⲉ ⲙⲡⲟⲩⲁ ⲛⲛⲥⲁⲃⲃⲁⲧⲟⲛ ⲁⲩⲉⲓ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉⲡⲉⲙϩⲁⲟⲩ ⲉⲁⲡⲣⲏϣⲁ
3 They were saying among themselves, "Who will roll away the stone from the door of the tomb for us?"
ⲅ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲛⲉⲩⲉⲣⲏⲩ ϫⲉ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲡⲉⲧⲛⲁϥⲓⲡⲱⲛⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓ ⲣⲱϥ ⲙⲡⲉⲙϩⲁⲟⲩ
4 for it was very big. Looking up, they saw that the stone was rolled back.
ⲇ̅ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲟⲩϥⲓⲁⲧⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲁⲩⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲡⲱⲛⲉ ⲉⲁⲩϥⲓⲧϥ ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲛⲉⲩⲛⲟϭ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲡⲉ ⲉⲙⲁⲧⲉ
5 Entering into the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, dressed in a white robe, and they were amazed.
ⲉ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲟⲩⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲡⲉⲙϩⲁⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲩϩⲣϣⲓⲣⲉ ⲉϥϩⲙⲟⲟⲥ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲛⲥⲁⲟⲩⲛⲁⲙ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲉϥϭⲟⲟⲗⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲥⲧⲟⲗⲏ ⲛⲟⲩⲱⲃϣ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲑⲟⲧⲉ ϫⲓⲧⲟⲩ
6 He said to them, "Do not be amazed. You seek Jesus, the Nazarene, who has been crucified. He has risen. He is not here. Look, the place where they put him.
ⲋ̅ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲁϥϣⲁϫⲉ ⲛⲙⲙⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲙⲡⲣⲣ ϩⲟⲧⲉ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲕⲱⲧⲉ ⲛⲥⲁ ⲓⲏⲥ ⲡⲛⲁⲍⲁⲣⲏⲛⲟⲥ ⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩⲥⲧⲁⲩⲣⲟⲩ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲁϥⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛϥ ⲛϥϩⲙⲡⲉⲓⲙⲁ ⲁⲛ ⲁⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲡⲙⲁ ⲛⲧⲁⲩⲕⲁⲁϥ ⲛϩⲏⲧϥ
7 But go, tell his disciples and Peter, 'He goes before you into Galilee. There you will see him, as he said to you.'"
ⲍ̅ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲃⲱⲕ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛϫⲟⲟⲥ ⲛⲛⲉϥⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲙⲛⲡⲕⲉⲡⲉⲧⲣⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ϥⲛⲁⲣϣⲟⲣⲡ ⲉⲣⲱⲧⲛ ⲉⲧⲅⲁⲗⲓⲗⲁⲓⲁ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲛⲁⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲙⲡⲙⲁ ⲉⲧⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲑⲉ ⲛⲧⲁϥϫⲟⲟⲥ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ
8 They went out, and fled from the tomb, for trembling and astonishment had come on them. They said nothing to anyone; for they were afraid.
ⲏ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲟⲩⲉⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲙϩⲁⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲡⲱⲧ ⲛⲉⲣⲉⲟⲩϩⲟⲧⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲛⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉⲩⲣϣⲡⲏⲣⲉ ⲙⲡⲟⲩϫⲉⲗⲁⲁⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲛϣⲁϫⲉ ⲉⲗⲁⲁⲩ ⲛⲉⲩⲣ ϩⲟⲧⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ
9 (note: The most reliable and earliest manuscripts do not include Mark 16:9-20.) Now when he had risen early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, from whom he had cast out seven demons.
ⲑ̅(note: The most reliable and earliest manuscripts do not include Mark 16:9-20.) ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⲇⲉ ⲛϩⲧⲟⲟⲩⲉ ⲛⲥⲟⲩⲁ ⲙⲡⲥⲁⲃⲃⲁⲧⲟⲛ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱⲛϩ ⲛϣⲟⲣⲡ ⲉⲙⲁⲣⲓⲁ ⲧⲙⲁⲅⲇⲁⲗⲏⲛⲏ ⲧⲁⲓ ⲛⲧⲁϥⲛⲟⲩϫⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛϩⲏⲧⲥ ⲛⲥⲁϣϥ ⲛⲇⲁⲓⲙⲱⲛⲓⲟⲛϫⲟⲟⲩ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲱⲛϩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲙⲛⲛⲥⲁ ⲛⲁⲓ ϩⲱⲟⲩ ⲟⲛ ⲁⲓⲥ ⲟⲩⲱⲛϩ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϫⲓⲛ ⲡⲙⲁ ⲛϣⲁ ⲙⲡⲣⲏ ϣⲁ ⲡⲙⲁ ⲛϩⲱⲧⲛ ⲁϥϫⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲟⲟⲧⲟⲩ ⲙⲡⲧⲁϣⲉⲟⲉⲓϣ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲁⲧⲧⲁⲕⲟ ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲟⲩϫⲁⲓ ⲛϣⲁⲉⲛⲉϩ ϩⲁⲙⲏⲛ
10 She went and told those who had been with him, as they mourned and wept.
ⲓ̅ⲧⲉⲧⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲥⲃⲱⲕ ⲁⲥⲧⲁⲙⲙⲉ ⲛⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲛⲙⲙⲁϥ ⲉⲩⲣ ϩⲃⲃⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲩⲣⲓⲙⲉ
11 When they heard that he was alive, and had been seen by her, they disbelieved.
ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ⲛⲧⲟⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ϩⲱⲟⲩ ⲟⲛ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲟⲩⲥⲱⲧⲙ ϫⲉ ϥⲟⲛϩ ⲁⲩⲱ ϫⲉ ⲁⲥⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲁⲩⲣⲁⲧⲛⲁϩⲧⲉ
12 And after these things he appeared in another form to two of them, as they walked on their way into the country.
ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ⲙⲛⲛⲥⲁ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲥⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛϩⲏⲧⲟⲩ ⲉⲩⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱⲛϩ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ ⲕⲉⲙⲟⲣⲫⲏ ⲉⲩⲃⲏⲕ ⲉⲧⲥⲱϣⲉ
13 And they went away and told it to the rest. They did not believe them, either.
ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ⲛⲉⲧⲙⲙⲁⲩ ϩⲱⲟⲩ ⲟⲛ ⲁⲩⲃⲱⲕ ⲁⲩⲧⲁⲙⲉ ⲡⲕⲉⲥⲉⲉⲡⲉ ⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲟⲛ ⲙⲡⲟⲩⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲙⲙⲁⲩ
14 Afterward he was revealed to the eleven themselves as they were reclining, and he rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen him after he had risen.
ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ⲙⲛⲛⲥⲱⲥ ⲉⲩⲛⲏϫ ⲛⲧⲟⲟⲩ ⲙⲡⲙⲛⲧⲟⲩⲉ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱⲛϩ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥⲛⲟϭⲛⲉϭ ⲛⲧⲉⲩⲙⲛⲧⲁⲧⲛⲁϩⲧⲉ ⲙⲛⲧⲉⲩⲙⲛⲧⲛⲁϣⲧ ϩⲏⲧ ϫⲉ ⲙⲡⲟⲩⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ⲉⲛⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲉⲁϥⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛ
15 And he said to them, "Go into all the world, and proclaim the Good News to the whole creation.
ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉⲡⲕⲟⲥⲙⲟⲥ ⲧⲏⲣϥ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛⲧⲁϣⲉ ⲟⲉⲓϣ ⲙⲡⲉⲩⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲓⲟⲛ ⲙⲡⲥⲱⲛⲧ ⲧⲏⲣϥ
16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who disbelieves will be condemned.
ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ⲛⲉⲧⲛⲁⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ⲛϥϫⲓ ⲃⲁⲡⲧⲓⲥⲙⲁ ϥⲛⲁⲟⲩϫⲁⲓ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲛϥⲛⲁⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲛ ⲥⲉⲛⲁⲧϭⲁⲓⲟϥ
17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;
ⲓ̅ⲍ̅ⲛⲉⲓⲙⲁⲉⲓⲛ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲁⲟⲩⲱϩ ⲉⲛⲉⲧⲛⲁⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ⲥⲉⲛⲁⲛⲉϫ ⲇⲁⲓⲙⲱⲛⲓⲟⲛ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲙ ⲡⲁⲣⲁⲛ ⲥⲉⲛⲁϣⲁϫⲉ ϩⲛ ⲛⲁⲥⲡⲉ
18 they will pick up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it will not harm them; they will place their hands on the sick, and they will be made well."
ⲓ̅ⲏ̅ⲥⲉⲛⲁϥⲓ ⲛⲛϩⲟϥ ϩⲛ ⲛⲉⲩϭⲓϫ ⲕⲁⲛⲉⲩϣⲁⲛⲥⲱ ⲛⲟⲩⲡⲁϩⲣⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲩ ⲛⲥⲛⲁⲣ ⲃⲟⲟⲛⲉ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲁⲛ ⲥⲉⲛⲁⲧⲁⲗⲉ ⲧⲟⲟⲧⲟⲩ ⲉϫⲛ ⲛⲉⲧϣⲱⲛⲉ ⲛⲥⲉⲙⲧⲟⲛ
19 So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God.
ⲓ̅ⲑ̅ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲓⲏⲥ ⲙⲛⲛⲥⲁ ⲧⲣⲉϥϣⲁϫⲉ ⲛⲙⲙⲁⲩⲁⲩϥⲓⲧϥ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲡⲉ ⲁϥϩⲙⲟⲟⲥ ⲛⲥⲁⲟⲩⲛⲁⲙ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ
20 And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the message by the signs that followed.
