Mark 10
1 He arose from there and came into the borders of Judea and beyond the Jordan. Crowds came together to him again. As he usually did, he was again teaching them.
Jésus, étant parti de là, passa sur le territoire de la Judée, au-delà du Jourdain. La foule se rassembla encore auprès de lui, et, selon sa coutume, il se mit à l'instruire.
2 Pharisees came to him testing him, and asked him, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?"
Alors les pharisiens s'approchèrent et lui demandèrent, pour le mettre à l'épreuve: Est-il permis à un homme de répudier sa femme?
3 He answered, "What did Moses command you?"
Il leur répondit: Qu'est-ce que Moïse vous a commandé?
4 They said, "Moses allowed a certificate of divorce to be written, and to divorce her."
Ils lui dirent: Moïse a permis d'écrire une lettre de divorce et de répudier sa femme.
5 But Jesus said to them, "Because of your hardness of heart, he wrote you this commandment.
Jésus leur répondit: C'est à cause de la dureté de votre coeur qu'il vous a donné ce commandement.
6 But from the beginning of the creation, he made them male and female.
Mais au commencement de la création. Dieu fit un homme et une femme,
7 For this cause a man will leave his father and mother, and will join to his wife,
«C'est pourquoi, l'homme quittera son père et sa mère et s'attachera à sa femme;
8 and the two will become one flesh, so that they are no longer two, but one flesh.
et les deux ne feront qu'une seule chair.» Ainsi ils ne sont plus deux, mais une seule chair.
9 What therefore God has joined together, let no one separate."
Que l'homme ne sépare donc pas ce que Dieu a uni.
10 In the house, the disciples asked him again about the same matter.
Lorsqu'ils furent dans la maison, les disciples l'interrogèrent encore sur ce sujet;
11 He said to them, "Whoever divorces his wife, and marries another, commits adultery against her.
et il leur dit: Quiconque répudie sa femme pour en épouser une autre commet un adultère envers elle;
12 If she herself divorces her husband, and marries another, she commits adultery."
et si une femme qui a quitté son mari en épouse un autre, elle commet un adultère.
13 They were bringing to him little children, that he should touch them, but the disciples rebuked them.
On lui présenta des petits enfants, afin qu'il les touchât; mais les disciples reprenaient ceux qui les présentaient.
14 But when Jesus saw it, he was moved with indignation, and said to them, "Allow the little children to come to me. Do not forbid them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
Jésus, voyant cela, en fut indigné, et il leur dit: Laissez venir à moi les petits enfants, et ne les en empêchez point; car le royaume de Dieu est pour ceux qui leur ressemblent.
15 Truly I tell you, whoever will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child, he will in no way enter into it."
En vérité, je vous le déclare, quiconque ne recevra pas le royaume de Dieu comme un petit enfant, n'y entrera point.
16 And he took them in his arms, laying his hands on them, and blessed them.
Et, les ayant pria entre ses bras, il leur imposa les mains et les bénit.
17 As he was going out into the way, one ran to him, knelt before him, and asked him, "Good Teacher, what must I do that I may inherit everlasting life?" (aiōnios g166)
Comme il sortait pour se mettre en route, un homme accourut; et, se jetant à genoux devant lui, il lui demanda: Mon bon Maître, que dois-je faire pour hériter la vie éternelle? (aiōnios g166)
18 Jesus said to him, "Why do you call me good? No one is good except one—God.
Jésus lui répondit: Pourquoi m'appelles-tu bon? Un seul est bon, c'est Dieu.
19 You know the commandments: 'Do not commit adultery,' 'Do not murder,' 'Do not steal,' 'Do not give false testimony,' 'Do not defraud,' 'Honor your father and mother.'"
Tu connais les commandements: «Ne commets point d'adultère; ne tue pas; ne dérobe point; ne dis pas de faux témoignage; ne fais tort à personne; honore ton père et ta mère.»
20 And he said to him, "Teacher, I have kept all these things from my youth."
L'homme répondit: Maître, j'ai observé toutes ces choses dès ma jeunesse.
21 Jesus looking at him loved him, and said to him, "One thing you lack. Go, sell whatever you have, and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me, taking up the cross."
Jésus, l'ayant regardé, l'aima, et il lui dit: Il te manque une chose. Va, vends tout ce que tu as, donne-le aux pauvres, et tu auras un trésor dans le ciel; puis, viens et suis-moi.
22 But his face fell at that saying, and he went away sorrowful, for he was one who had great possessions.
Mais cet homme fut affligé de cette parole, et il s'en alla tout triste; car il avait de grands biens.
23 Jesus looked around, and said to his disciples, "How difficult it is for those who have riches to enter into the kingdom of God."
Alors Jésus, regardant autour de lui, dit à ses disciples: Qu'il est difficile à ceux qui ont des richesses d'entrer dans le royaume de Dieu!
24 The disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus answered again and said to them, "Children, how hard it is for those who trust in riches to enter the kingdom of God.
Ses disciples furent étonnés de ces paroles. Mais Jésus, reprenant, leur dit: Mes enfants, qu'il est difficile à ceux qui se confient dans les richesses d'entrer dans le royaume de Dieu!
25 It is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye than for a rich person to enter into the kingdom of God."
Il est plus facile à un chameau de passer par le trou de l'aiguille, qu'il ne l'est à un riche d'entrer dans le royaume de Dieu.
26 They were exceedingly astonished, saying to him, "Then who can be saved?"
Ils furent encore plus étonnés, et ils se disaient l'un à l'autre: Et qui peut donc être sauvé?
27 Jesus, looking at them, said, "With humans it is impossible, but not with God, for all things are possible with God."
Jésus, les regardant, leur dit: Cela est impossible aux hommes, mais non pas à Dieu; car toutes choses sont possibles à Dieu.
28 Peter began to tell him, "Look, we have left everything, and have followed you."
Pierre se mit à lui dire: Voici que nous avons tout quitté, et nous t'avons suivi!
29 Jesus said, "Truly I tell you, there is no one who has left house, or brothers, or sisters, or mother, or father, or children, or land, for my sake, and for the sake of the Good News,
Jésus répondit: En vérité, je vous le déclare, de tous ceux qui ont quitté maison, ou frères, ou soeurs, ou père, ou mère, ou enfants, ou champs, à cause de moi et de l'Évangile,
31 But many who are first will be last; and the last first."
Mais plusieurs des premiers seront les derniers, et plusieurs des derniers seront les premiers.
32 They were on the way, going up to Jerusalem; and Jesus was going in front of them, and they were amazed; and those who followed were afraid. He again took the twelve, and began to tell them the things that were going to happen to him.
Ils étaient en chemin pour monter à Jérusalem, et Jésus marchait en avant; les disciples étaient saisis d'effroi, et la crainte s'était emparée de ceux qui le suivaient. Prenant encore avec lui les Douze, il se mit à leur dire ce qui devait lui arriver:
33 "Look, we are going up to Jerusalem. The Son of Man will be delivered to the chief priests and the scribes. They will condemn him to death, and will deliver him to foreigners.
Voici que nous montons à Jérusalem, et le Fils de l'homme sera livré aux principaux sacrificateurs et aux scribes; ils le condamneront à mort et le livreront aux Païens.
34 They will mock him, spit on him, scourge him, and kill him. After three days he will rise again."
On se moquera de lui, on crachera sur lui, on le battra de verges, et on le fera mourir; et trois jours après, il ressuscitera.
35 James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came near to him, and said to him, "Teacher, we want you to do for us whatever we will ask."
Alors Jacques et Jean, les fils de Zébédée, s'approchèrent de Jésus et lui dirent: Maître, nous voudrions que tu fisses pour nous ce que nous te demanderons.
36 He said to them, "What do you want me to do for you?"
Il leur répliqua: Que voulez-vous que je fasse pour vous?
37 They said to him, "Grant to us that we may sit, one at your right hand, and one at your left hand, in your glory."
Ils lui répondirent: Accorde-nous d'être assis dans ta gloire, l'un à ta droite, l'autre à ta gauche.
38 But Jesus said to them, "You do not know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I drink, or to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?"
Mais Jésus leur dit: Vous ne savez ce que vous demandez. Pouvez-vous boire la coupe que je bois, et être baptisés du baptême dont je suis baptisé?
39 And they said to him, "We are able." And Jesus said to them, "You will drink the cup I drink, and you will be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with;
Ils lui répondirent: Nous le pouvons. Jésus leur dit: Vous boirez la coupe que je bois, et vous serez baptisés du baptême dont je suis baptisé;
40 but to sit at my right hand and at my left hand is not mine to give, but for whom it has been prepared."
mais, quant à être assis à ma droite ou à ma gauche, il ne m'appartient pas de l'accorder: c'est pour ceux à qui cela est réservé.
41 When the ten heard it, they began to be indignant towards James and John.
Les dix autres, qui avaient entendu cette demande, furent indignés contre Jacques et Jean.
42 Jesus summoned them, and said to them, "You know that they who are recognized as rulers over the nations lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them.
Mais Jésus, les ayant appelés, leur dit: Vous savez que ceux qui sont regardés comme les chefs des nations les asservissent, et que les grands les tiennent sous leur puissance.
43 But it will not be so among you, but whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant.
Il n'en est pas ainsi parmi vous; au contraire, celui qui voudra être grand parmi vous, sera. votre serviteur;
44 And whoever wants to be first among you must be slave of all.
et celui d'entre vous qui voudra être le premier, sera l'esclave de tous.
45 For the Son of Man also did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."
Car le Fils de l'homme est venu, non pour être servi, mais pour servir, et donner sa vie pour la rançon de plusieurs.
46 They came to Jericho. As he went out from Jericho, with his disciples and a large crowd, Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, a blind beggar, was sitting by the road.
Ensuite ils arrivèrent à Jérico. Comme Jésus en repartait avec ses disciples et une assez grande foule, un mendiant aveugle, Bartimée, le fils de Timée, était assis au bord du chemin.
47 When he heard that it was Jesus the Nazarene, he began to cry out, and say, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me."
Ayant entendu dire que c'était Jésus de Nazareth, il se mit à crier et à dire: Fils de David, Jésus, aie pitié de moi!
48 Many rebuked him, that he should be quiet, but he shouted all the louder, "Son of David, have mercy on me."
Plusieurs le reprenaient, pour le faire taire; mais il criait encore plus fort: Fils de David, aie pitié de moi!
49 Jesus stood still, and said, "Call him." They called the blind man, saying to him, "Cheer up. Get up. He is calling you."
Jésus, s'étant arrêté, dit: Appelez-le. Ils appelèrent l'aveugle, en lui disant: Prends courage, lève-toi, il t'appelle.
50 He, casting away his coat, jumped up, and came to Jesus.
Et jetant son manteau, il s'élança et vint vers Jésus.
51 Jesus asked him, "What do you want me to do for you?" The blind man said to him, "Rabboni, that I may see again."
Alors Jésus, prenant la parole, lui dit: Que veux-tu que je te fasse? L'aveugle lui répondit: Maître, que je recouvre la vue!
52 Jesus said to him, "Go your way. Your faith has made you well." And immediately he received his sight, and followed him on the road.
Jésus lui dit: Va, ta foi t'a guéri. Aussitôt l'aveugle recouvra la vue; et il suivait Jésus dans le chemin.
