Luke 4
1 Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness
A Jezus, pełen Ducha Świętego, wrócił znad Jordanu i został zaprowadzony przez Ducha na pustynię;
2 for forty days, being tempted by the devil. He ate nothing in those days. When they were completed, he was hungry.
I przez czterdzieści dni był kuszony przez diabła. Nic nie jadł w tych dniach, a gdy minęły, poczuł głód.
3 The devil said to him, "If you are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread."
I powiedział do niego diabeł: Jeśli jesteś Synem Bożym, powiedz temu kamieniowi, aby stał się chlebem.
4 Jesus answered him, saying, "It is written, 'Humankind cannot live by bread alone.'"
Ale Jezus mu odpowiedział: Jest napisane: Nie samym chlebem będzie żył człowiek, ale każdym słowem Bożym.
5 And leading him up to a high mountain, the devil showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.
Wtedy wyprowadził go diabeł na wysoką górę i pokazał mu w jednej chwili wszystkie królestwa świata.
6 The devil said to him, "I will give you all this authority, and their glory, for it has been delivered to me; and I give it to whomever I want.
I powiedział do niego diabeł: Dam ci całą tę potęgę i ich chwałę, bo zostały mi przekazane i daję je, komu chcę.
7 If you therefore will worship before me, it will all be yours."
Jeśli więc oddasz mi pokłon, wszystko będzie twoje.
8 Jesus answered and said to him, "It is written, 'You are to worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.'"
A Jezus mu odpowiedział: Idź precz ode mnie, szatanie! Jest bowiem napisane: Panu, swemu Bogu, będziesz oddawał pokłon i tylko jemu będziesz służył.
9 He led him to Jerusalem, and set him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to him, "If you are the Son of God, cast yourself down from here,
Potem zaprowadził go do Jerozolimy, postawił na szczycie świątyni i powiedział do niego: Jeśli jesteś Synem Bożym, rzuć się stąd w dół.
10 for it is written, 'He will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you;'
Jest bowiem napisane: Rozkaże o tobie swoim aniołom, aby cię strzegli;
11 and, 'On their hands they will bear you up, lest perhaps you dash your foot against a stone.'"
I będą cię nosić na rękach, abyś przypadkiem nie uderzył swojej nogi o kamień.
12 And Jesus, answering, said to him, "It is said, 'Do not test the Lord your God.'"
A Jezus mu odpowiedział: Powiedziano: Nie będziesz wystawiał na próbę Pana, swego Boga.
13 When the devil had completed every temptation, he departed from him until another time.
Kiedy diabeł skończył całe kuszenie, odstąpił od niego na jakiś czas.
14 Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee, and news about him spread through all the surrounding area.
Jezus zaś wrócił w mocy Ducha do Galilei, a wieść o nim rozeszła się po całej okolicy.
15 He taught in their synagogues, being praised by all.
I nauczał w ich synagogach, sławiony przez wszystkich.
16 He came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up. He entered, as was his custom, into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read.
Przyszedł też do Nazaretu, gdzie się wychował. Według swego zwyczaju wszedł w dzień szabatu do synagogi i wstał, aby czytać.
17 The scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him, and unrolling the scroll, he found the place where it was written,
I podano mu księgę proroka Izajasza. Gdy otworzył księgę, znalazł miejsce, gdzie było napisane:
18 "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, recovering of sight to the blind, to deliver those who are crushed,

19 and to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord."

20 He closed the scroll, gave it back to the attendant, and sat down. The eyes of all in the synagogue were fastened on him.
Potem zamknął księgę, oddał ją słudze i usiadł, a oczy wszystkich w synagodze były w nim utkwione.
21 He began to tell them, "Today, this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing."

22 All testified about him, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth, and they said, "Is not this Joseph's son?"

23 He said to them, "Doubtless you will tell me this parable, 'Physician, heal yourself. Whatever we have heard done at Capernaum, do also here in your hometown.'"
I powiedział do nich: Z pewnością powiecie mi to przysłowie: Lekarzu, ulecz samego siebie. To, o czym słyszeliśmy, że wydarzyło się w Kafarnaum, uczyń i tu, w swojej ojczyźnie.
24 He said, "Truly I tell you, no prophet is acceptable in his hometown.

25 But truly I tell you, there were many widows in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the sky was shut up three years and six months, when a great famine came over all the land.
Ale mówię wam zgodnie z prawdą, [że] wiele wdów było w Izraelu za dni Eliasza, gdy niebo było zamknięte przez trzy lata i sześć miesięcy, tak że wielki głód panował na całej ziemi;
26 Elijah was sent to none of them, except to Zarephath, in the land of Sidon, to a woman who was a widow.

27 There were many lepers in Israel in the time of Elisha the prophet, yet not one of them was cleansed, except Naaman, the Syrian."

28 They were all filled with wrath in the synagogue, as they heard these things.
I wszyscy w synagodze, słysząc to, zapłonęli gniewem;
29 They rose up, threw him out of the city, and led him to the brow of the hill that their city was built on, that they might throw him off the cliff.

30 But he, passing through the midst of them, went his way.

31 He came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee. He was teaching them on the Sabbath day,
Potem przyszedł do Kafarnaum, miasta w Galilei, i tam nauczał ich w szabaty.
32 and they were astonished at his teaching, for his word was with authority.
I zdumiewali się jego nauką, bo przemawiał z mocą.
33 In the synagogue there was a man who had a spirit of an unclean demon, and he shouted with a loud voice,
A był w synagodze człowiek, który miał ducha demona nieczystego. Zawołał on donośnym głosem:
34 saying, "Ah. What have we to do with you, Jesus, Nazarene? Have you come to destroy us? I know you who you are — the Holy One of God."
Ach, cóż my z tobą mamy, Jezusie z Nazaretu? Przyszedłeś nas zniszczyć? Wiem, kim jesteś: Świętym Boga.
35 Jesus rebuked him, saying, "Be silent, and come out of him." When the demon had thrown him down in their midst, he came out of him, having done him no harm.
I zgromił go Jezus: Zamilcz i wyjdź z niego! Wtedy demon rzucił go na środek i wyszedł z niego, nie wyrządzając mu żadnej krzywdy.
36 Amazement came on all, and they spoke together, one with another, saying, "What is this word? For with authority and power he commands the unclean spirits, and they come out."
A wszystkich ogarnęło zdumienie i rozmawiali między sobą: Cóż to za słowo? Bo z władzą i mocą rozkazuje duchom nieczystym, a one wychodzą.
37 News about him went out into every place of the surrounding region.
I wieść o nim rozeszła się wszędzie po okolicznej krainie.
38 He rose up from the synagogue, and entered into Simon's house. Now Simon's mother-in-law was suffering from a high fever, and they appealed to him about her.
Po wyjściu z synagogi [Jezus] przyszedł do domu Szymona. A teściowa Szymona miała wysoką gorączkę, więc prosili go za nią.
39 He stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her. Immediately she rose up and served them.
Wtedy on, stanąwszy nad nią, zgromił gorączkę, a ta ją opuściła. Zaraz też wstała i usługiwała im.
40 When the sun was setting, all those who had any sick with various diseases brought them to him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.
A gdy słońce zachodziło, wszyscy, którzy mieli cierpiących na rozmaite choroby, przyprowadzali ich do niego, a on na każdego z nich kładł ręce i uzdrawiał ich.
41 Demons also came out from many, crying out, and saying, "You are the Son of God." But he rebuked them and did not allow them to speak, because they knew that he was the Christ.
Z wielu też wychodziły demony, wołając: Ty jesteś Chrystusem, Synem Bożym. Ale [on] gromił [je] i nie pozwalał im mówić. Wiedziały bowiem, że on jest Chrystusem.
42 When it was day, he departed and went into an uninhabited place, and the crowds looked for him, and came to him, and held on to him, so that he would not go away from them.

43 But he said to them, "I must proclaim the good news of the kingdom of God to the other cities also. For this reason I have been sent."
Lecz on powiedział do nich: Także innym miastom muszę głosić królestwo Boże, bo po to zostałem posłany.
44 And he was preaching in the synagogues of Galilee.
I głosił w synagogach w Galilei.
